Let me rephrase. They aren’t going to fix it with those things cause they don’t want to do the things you suggested consistently.  And they don’t believe those cures what’s ailing them. Not that i disagree with you. I actually agree but they are going to be stubborn and somehow point to the offense isn’t bad cause of bs analytics they’ll use

that said the mistakes I was referring to was more their turnovers. I think these are bad habits that they’ve built up throughout the course of the year. Jalen has been better the last two weeks cause giants game that was a slip on goedert’s part and yesterday was a Hail Mary throw at the end. But really the eagles just find ways to have turnovers. Played 16 games and have had a turnover in 13. Been 5 weeks since they played a turnover free game.

Of course.  They will fail because they'd rather go down with what they know, rather than take a chance at getting better.   Doesn't matter anyway, they are clueless in critical situations.

Their situational awareness in general is bad. Burning two timeouts in the second half on the most idiotic things is typical of this team. It cost them late in the game. You have those timeouts have a much better shot at saving time and potentially still winning the game.

Activate McKee for Giants game

Rest starters

Shake the Magic 8 ball

And see what happens in the WC Round

I'd go with Mariota.  Dial the run to max.  Put big players on the field,  have them run. Viola,  there's your big back.

Go Blue

Screw Bama

That missed PAT will haunt Michigan

Book it

Normally I'd agree with you. But Michigan getting caught cheating has kinda soured me on rooting for them here

I’d say DE above LB.

All depends on the scheme they run. If they keep running the current scheme, using a high pick on a DE won't make much sense as they don't play both DE the majority of the time. If they go back to a base 4-3, 100% get that DE. Brandon Graham, is DE2 but he hasn't technically started a game this year. They only have two DE on the team. Sweat and BG. Sweat is playing 75% of the snaps (too much) and BG is playing 33% of the snaps. If you draft a DE in round 1 and bring Sweats snaps down, you're just drafting another DL who is going to see the field 50% of the time.

I want them to draft players who are going to make an impact as much as possible and not be so dependent on a rotation.

First, if he hits the market, do what you can to sign Brian Burns. If not Burns, his teammate Gross-Matos would be a good Javon Hargrave kind of signing. They could also look at Josh Allen and make him a full time DE. Then I would look at signing a guy like Bilal Nichols. 27 years old, great rotational DT.

At LB, do everything you can to train Nolan Smith at WLB and then make a splash with Patrick Queen or Devin White. SLB could be Ben VanSuren or a draft pick

I'd love to see:

DL1- Sweat   Davis   Carter   Burns/Gross-Matos/Josh Allen

DL2- Draft pick   Williams   Nichols   FA (Casey Toohill/Clelin Ferrell?)

DL3- Ojomo  Tuipulotu

WLB Nolan Smith    MLB Patrick Queen/Devin White   SLB   BVS/Patrick Johnson/Draft pick

This is totally far-fetch and I know 3 LB defenses are a dying breed but I just think this will be the best way to get the most out of their DL investment and with who's available.

So Bama paying for recruits the last decade isn't?

When have we done that?   Its not an RPO, its an RO offense with RPO mixed in.   It's why we don't use pistol or go under center.   We haven't seen a legit NFL offense yet.

IIRC Hurts did go under center a few times vs Giants. Greg Cosell said he ran the tape back a few times to make sure that actually happened and he wasn't having stroke.

I hear you on that.

As a UGA alum, I am obligated to root for Bama's demise.

A few times in one game doesn't count to me.

I might be nuts, but I think having the Michigan DC and the Michigan players would likely be an upgrade over our defense.

Calling a timeout on 3rd and 20 just to throw a RB screen and get your 1b WR hurt.

You're being intentionally obtuse.

No, explain to me how a play that averages 1.5 yards is transformative.

Because we are going back to 3 yards and a cloud of dust... but half as effective.  Red Grange would be proud.  Knute Rockne would not.

Yup.

It's just not a part of our offense.

Just hire Macdonald then as the HC and let him run the D

It's an automatic play that teams know is coming but can't be stopped.  And it's an automatic play that is used in situations to pick up a first down or a touchdown as the end result of it.

Yup

roll tide

and i hate Saban

I think the offense would survive a scheme change whether it's losing Nick or Brian or both. It's too talented

Though I don't know what happens with Swift. I'd be shocked if he gets a contract so he likely goes somewhere else. IF he does leave then they need to replace him which wont be fun. I'd love if they just get a RB that will hit the hole and run over players. Don't want one that's trying to juke defenders

Agreed.   I loved the 1-2 punch of Blount and Ajayi in 2017.   So beautiful to watch.  And when you use them during the course of the game, when you need the run game at the end, the defense is worn down and you get run an effective 4 minute offense.  Something this team showed it can do ONCE this year... but because they haven't consistently run the ball earlier in games, they haven't been able to turn to it when they need it at the end.  A really good 4 minute offense would have saved the game on Sunday.   Oh well...  we need more explosive plays.   😕.  So that whether it is successful or not, we can throw our desperately worn out defense back on the field quickly.

Right? The stupidity to call the timeout to have that play call is really bad. knowing the Cardinals are probably gonna move the ball because your defense so you likely need that timeout for clock purposes and potentially having to try and win the game. You would’ve had more time and 32 seconds to go and try to score the game-winning touchdown.

not only that if you’re gonna call Fing screen to a running back, get it to your most dynamic running back. Which is swift who is excels in the pass game. If there’s going to be a running back that breaks open a screen and get you 20 yards it’s not gonna be Fing gainwell. It’s going to be swift.
