In his Eagles career, Kenny Gainwell's longest play is just 20 yards. His longest play this year is 19 yards. They actually called a play for him on 3rd and 20. They thought he was the best option out of all the players they have on the offense. He's the 5th option and even then I hate giving him the ball. Absolutely maddening. It's just the perfect play that showcases how dumb this coaching staff is.

no one would see it coming

Would love if they get another Blount type of RB. I think one would have paired great with Swift but they decided to have Gainwell, Scott, Swift, and Penny

I can see them letting Swift walk and saying KG is their lead back, signing an UDFA and a guy like JK Dobbins banking on him coming off his injury...but look at what happened with Penny.

I do currently believe that they are "holding back" something.   I wouldn't say it's game plans.

Are you arguing that the Eagles are so stupid that they don't realize that you NEED a big back to run out the clock in the 4th Q?

Either the Eagles are so stupid,  or they already got all the wins they needed when they were at 10-1, and it hasn't mattered, so it hasn't been great.  But now that it's playoffs time, they'll roll out the new hot guns and crush it.

We'll find out what happens when it happens.

I've heard the "races, like marathons, are only won by running as fast as you can at the start of the race" argument before, and it's wrong.

I've heard "no such thing as rope-a-dope,  Ali was simply not feeling well that day" before,  that's wrong.

Holding back stuff for the playoffs, when you don't really need wins,  is smart.

If I'm an Eagles coach, player or front office,  I'm hating the Eagles fans.  I would be completely fine with playing every single game on the road.   They're not going to go out there and say "wow,  Eagles fans suck,  we almost won the Super Bowl,  we're going to the playoffs again, and they're booing,  and chanting when we're trying to concentrate on offense."  But they might be thinking that.  I would be.  Screw them,  we'd rather win on the road.

I don’t think they’re "stupid”.  I think it has much more to do with them being entrenched in their offensive system and not willing to divert much from it.

I mean, how many times do we hear, "Well, that play has worked for us in the past in that situation.”?   Like every press conference this year.

That was more hopium than reality clearly.

If the Eagles aren't holding something back,  what have the coaches been doing all year?

I can't.   He's in witness protection.  Can't find him anywhere to look at him.

The thing that absolutely drives me insane is that the Eagles have essentially taken out D’Andre Swift in the passing game. Swift is OK to good in a lot of things but the thing that he does the absolute best is catching the football in space and making guys miss. If there is a running back on this team that is going to make a big play out of a screen it is swift. The fact that D’Andre Swift has three receptions over the last four games and Kenny Gainwell has 8 tells me they don’t understand their Fing personnel. That’s a coaching issue cause even in Detroit they understood that’s one of the greatest benefits he brings to an offense.

1 - They needed the wins to get the bye, which they desperately need.

2 - They aren't intentionally holding back special wrinkles, like using Penny, for the playoffs.

3 - The players would rather play at home than on the road, because they are in their own beds, don't have to travel, and a host of other reasons.

4 - The players are also visibly frustrated.  They have no right to be angry at the fans for feeling the same way.

Bama should run a screen or Qb draw on this 2nd and 15…

Sucking at their job.  It's happened before, especially with guys who are new to the respective roles.

Ref’s keeping laundry off the field, but that big boy NT got held on 2 straight plays there.

I remember some people thinking that they were "holding back” game plans for the playoffs. Was blowing the division and a home playoff game a part of that plan?

I remember that as well. It was an idiotic idea

That would be asking to get fired IMO

Based on how Michigan’s offense has looked in the second half, feels like Michigan is in a world of trouble right now

How long before the rule makers in college and the NFL realize these guys are mimicking double fisted machine guns as their celebration🤣 Don't wave, don't give a peace sign, don't mimic slitting your throat. Mowing down the crowd with machine guns. Go for it.

I remember when there was no dancing in football.

Oh, and the NFL is rigged.  See the Lions 2 point conversion.   It's rigged, and the people who are rigging it want worse football.   There is no good football, it gets scripted by bad people who want bad football.  The NFL tracks the US.  It gets worse every day.   But someone will win the Super Bowl and I don't see any reason why it can't be the Eagles.  I've seen the 9ers look terrible, especially Purdy.  Lamar might choke.

He's changed the play before

He needs to do it more.  Alot more.

Michigan has had some bad drops.

That was a nice gift by milroe

and Michigan does that poor flea flicker to squander the field position.

Alright Michigan channeled their inner Brian Johnson on the 3rd and 17 WR screen

and shanked the FG.

You’re giving them too much credit. They’d be stupid if they’re doing what you think they’re doing. They don’t have the brains in the building to fix the issues they’ve had all season and it’s showed the past month and a half. There is no master plan and Rashaad Penny isn’t coming to save the season.

Fing Bama

Michigan is so good this year, with a historically good defense but it’s hard to bet against Alabama and Saban in championship level bowl games.  And now we see why.

Michigan special teams gave this game to bama. The fumble that led to a td. Missed extra point. And missed FG. That’s 11 point swing to bama.

Bama really allowed for that? Michigan has been running that same play to the same player all game on short yardage.

just a dumb block to the back penalty there. Pretty obvious

not sure how Alabama didn’t get called for a penalty for tackling the Qb out of bounds. Pretty blatantly obvious

Pretty sure that ball was tipped. Great job by Wilson to pull it in.

Don't understand why Penny has not been used at all.  He got dressed in the last game, but did not get in the game.  He has been inactive for most of the previous games.  Is he hurt, or they don't trust him?  Or they don't know how to use him?  If that is the case, why keep him on the roster?
