AJ is always upset about something it seems.

The guy was throwing a hissy fit on the sideline while we were beating the $hit out of the NYG in the playoffs last year.

The only star skill position player that I've never seen get animated on the sideline is Barry Sanders lol.

Maybe we take a home run swing for Old Bill for HC. Stable explosive  roster, defensive mastermind to hide the holes, QB and WRs in place etc.

Brings an attitude and identity.

If he would be willing to give up complete control of the offense and offensive player personnel decisions, I’d be almost for it.  Highly doubt he would that though.

Yup. I tend to think lurie and howie have someone in mind. Like when they brought in Schwartz before even hiring doug.

I think the "brain trust" has enough experience in these matters to not act rashly. There will be no HC changes without already having someone in mind. The OC/DC will be similar situations but their hand has already been forced...they must go. Hopefully they have some names ready to go.

I was trying to go through in my mind some defensive coordinators that could be available with previous DC experience. The potential candidates without DC experience i think could be many.

I still want Al Harris. Weaken an opponent. Bring in a DC with Philly ties, and I hate to say it has some swag and attitude about him. That rubs off and I think his potential is really high.

What tree would he be considered part of?

and swag means nothing. Gimme a nerdy genius like the lions OC or the miami coach any day.

I think it is a little late to chill...this has been festering for a few weeks. Where there is smoke there is fire and AJ is just a symptom of a bigger issue. For all we know the media may have been trying to keep it internally. I think there is a serious locker room issue already and it has manifested onto performance on the field.

Agreed. You can tell McLane sat on his "this is the most miserable 10-1 team” story for a few weeks, but he did it for his own personal gain.

What if….

Dawkins for DC.

Whoa

Wait a minute. You mean to tell me Philadelphia media members are all of a sudden making AJ Brown a scapegoat right after he decided he wasn't going to talk to them after the game two weeks in a row. It's almost like they are using their platform to push personal agendas. Nah, not the Philly media.

Not that I would or wouldn’t want them but Zimmer and Frazier would be the more experienced guys. Dennis Allen too if he’s fired but who knows what the Saints are doing at the moment.

Bonsai

I think the path forward for next season is pretty clear if this season ends on its current trajectory.  Going into the season I think the Eagles were built to be a top 5 offense and a mid-tier defense, and the organization was hoping that would be good enough.  Sadly, they are 7th in points scored and 29th in points allowed.  The failures on defense have been a product of bad roster construction, injuries, and bad scheme.

— lost both LBs and both safeties to FA

— both CBs on the outside are aging and declining, and the slot CB is Mr. Infirmary

— pass rush has underperformed, although not quite as bad as most think

The defense needs a complete overhaul in personnel and philosophy; it’s not likely to be fixed in one year.  Bring in an experienced DC with a strong track record, like Schwartz was for Doug.  The DL isn’t in bad shape compared to the back seven — there might not be a single player back there worth hanging onto, and no one should be guaranteed a starter position next season.  Blankenship and Sydney Brown might be adequate.  Lots of draft resources need to be spent to rebuild the secondary and LBs.

On offense, Hurts needs to be better.  Last season he was a consensus top 5 NFL QB.  This season I’m not sure he’s been top 12.  He’s just average right now.  Even average QB play has this offense sitting at 11-5.

OL needs a succession plan at RT, but hopefully that can be a worry for 2025.

1 game and a playoff game to go and everyone's talking new coaches, trading our all pro QB, moving on from our best WR maybe ever, draft, and FA. Man. lol. 10-1 was so long ago.

He was in the front office already and stepped down. Highly doubtful he'd take a stressful coordinator gig.

Depends how you define animated.

I don't remember Jerry Rice, Larry Fitzgerald or Marvin Harrison ever be animated to name a few.

I don't recall many star players being upset and throwing a fit while their team is dominating a playoff game.

That would be something.  Probably would need to bring him back as the DB coach first though.

I was just making fun of the TATER trope for the last 15 years

Maybe not on the sidelines, just don’t catch him in the streets

How bout Deion Sanders for HC?

I know RTK would love that 😄😄😄😄

Saw his contract expires at the end of the year and was a report he wasn’t thrilled with how everything is being run with the titans. I’m doubting he’ll be a DC. He’ll either take a year off or find a HC job somewhere in the league.

Agreed. But I can dream at least!

Happens all the time my man. This isn't unique to the Eagles.

Ok... as much as I want to crucify the DC for this weekend after watching some footage a lot of this is on the players when it comes to the rush defense. They Fd up their gap responsibilities the entire game and not just the LBs. They are pressing and making terrible mistakes. Sweat has been a culprit far too much losing outside contain. That's something they can fix if they get their heads out of their asses. They're not playing smart football and they're not trusting each other. That's the biggest problem. Those big chunk runs should have been minimal gains or even TFLs if people just did their jobs and filled the gaps. The Cardinals did nothing special.

Bang Bang. Why does everyone want to vilify the best players when crap hits the fan? Folks say they want tough, aggressive, competitive players with some dog in them but then when they show a little emotion it's a problem. If they sit there emotionless like Hurts, then they don't care they need to show some fire. Can't win. Bunch of weirdos lol.

I guess never is a strong line, but can we at least give a shout out to Larry Fitz here?

Even at 10-1 there were a lot of the same issues, but everyone ignored them because they were 10-1. They've been playing sloppy, awful football the entire season. The Miami game was probably the only actually good performance the entire team has had all season.

Every week since week 1 the same issues get brought up. Early in the season it was "it's only week X". As the weeks went on it was "we're X-1", "no style points for pretty wins", "an ugly win is still a win". This team has been sloppy and undisciplined all year long, and they're finally losing games as they should've all season.

It's nice to win an ugly game once in a while to prove you can win without your A game. But when you have to win ugly week in and week out, maybe your A game just isn't good, and that's where we're at now.

My favorite non-Eagle of all time. Dude was an absolute monster, and a class act. I don't really remember Megatron being a big diva either, even though he had every right to be one playing in that dumpster fire
