Penix

If Penix is available when the Eagles pick.  Let him sit for 1-2 years behind Hurts as I think Hurts will have considerable trade value for a team desperate for a QB.

I don’t know what this year’s draft class looks like at QB, but I could see them going 1-4 with the teams currently in those spots

I’m in for drafting a QB with one of the second round picks this year. Similar strategy to what they did in 2020, you get a cost-controlled backup QB under a four year deal to develop, and it’s insurance if Hurts continues to regress or gets hurt. Maybe they view McKee as that guy, but the odds of hitting on a sixth round pick are low.

Acknowledging how much worse this defense is without Slay... holy hell bat man

Bradberry has really been the main sore spot. Maddox hasn't really shown up either since coming back. Next game should be Slay and Ringo/Ricks on the outside but we all know they'll stick with Bradberry for reasons.

It’s pretty disappointing that we went into this game knowing that it was likely we’d end up sitting starters and we still didn’t have Steen active. I’m typically pretty patient with rookies, but that seems bad.

I can't believe after getting ripped all week for dropping Reddick into coverage on the first defensive snap of the game they dropped him into coverage.

It's like we're being trolled. They change nothing on either side of the ball. Ever. You have to try to be this bad.

Whoever decided Jalen should be a 7 step drop back qb only is really dumb he ain’t Kurt Warner. The only time he runs is when it’s a designed run. Last year he just did what he needed to do.

I was a major Hurts hater pre-2022.  I really ate that crow and loved the 2022 run.  I always criticize any deviations from perfection from whomever the franchise QB of the moment is…they need to be held to a very high standard.  But aside from that, I haven’t been critical of Hurts’ future here…been really hesitant to do so after all that crow.  But I’m really questioning it now.  If Hurts is going to be an average to above average passer plus tush push extraordinaire with a $250m ball and chain, the Eagles will never be able to compete with teams that get serviceable QB play on budget deals or teams with generational QBs on mega-deals.

Dolphins falling apart

Statistically they weren't much worse but from the eye test they were significantly worse. Literally every drive was like pulling teeth to do anything as opposed to last year where they blew everyone out in the first half and then legitimately just coasted for the entire second half. We could effortlessly do 9-10 minute drives running the ball to bleed the clock out. This year we couldn't even get a 1st down when it came down to the offense sealing games.

They didn't run the ball as well.

Hurts wasn't as big a threat running as he was last couple years.

Too many turnovers.

Those things can be corrected.  The defense though is going to take a major effort to change.  It is a huge mess.  This is one of the worst defenses I've seen.  Gonna have to be some big changes.

As a Dallas fan, what's your feel with this year's team?

Do they have what it takes to get over the Niners hump?

Man...I don't really want to answer that, but I will. Beating SF in SF is going to be extremely difficult...but I am not 100% confident DAL gets there. They should get there by beating GB, LAR/DET, but I am so damn gun shy. I've seen too many Dallas teams play well only to lose at home in the playoffs, the Giants and GB come to mind, SF two years ago.

They are at home, they have played really well for the most part at home this year with the exceptions being against SEA and DET, they could have lost both, and should have lost one for sure (depending on how you feel about the tripping call against them vs the Lions player), and those were recent games. The Rams look really solid right now and I wouldn't sleep on them at all. IF DAL happens to get going...

SF is beatable but for DAL I think most of it is mental now...three losses in a row to them, 2 in the playoffs. I feel like they have a better chance than last year, even though they started that game playing decent. Who knows what could happen between now and then injury wise. As both teams sit right now the edge is obviously in SF favor being at home and having donkey stomped DAL once already this year. i hope DAL is stronger mentally now vs week 5 or 6, whenever it was they got crushed.

I think it really comes down to who jumps out to a lead first. DAL plays well with the lead, if they get up by 2 possessions they have a good chance to win, if they get down by two possessions on the road, they lose. DAL is what 2-11 on the road against winning teams in open air stadiums since 2016 something crazy like that?

I have hope, but hope is not a plan...I would say 35% confident DAL can pull it off...IF they get there.

Still think Steen could be a solid NFL player, but the Eagles are a team that bounces from one fad to the next and beating it to absolute death. Their latest fad is only drafting guys from Alabama or Georgia. Which in the long run will be more successful than some of their other fads. Because those schools produce a lot of talent. But I find it hard to believe in every round those guys just happened to be the best players on their board. I think Howie has found his latest obsession.

Im frankly tired of their extreme philosophy shifts. Just identify good players and draft them.

I listened to that Tim McManus interview on 975. He said Hassan Reddick basically alluded to it last week in the locker room. So if a Reddick is hinting/alluding to him that the changed cause a whole bunch of more problems then it was likely a panic move and dumb decision.

He flat out said it. They are learning new terminology. In week 17!

Oh don’t get me wrong, I’ve been done with Patricia ever since he decided ti drop Reddick back into pass coverage 7 times in one game.

Patricia is lucky Reddick got pulled. He dropped back on the first two plays back to back.

Looked like a real bad spot for the Bills
