Would suck for Antonio Pierce who really wanted that job.

Anyway I'd take Pierce for DC if he isn't offered a HC job somewhere.

Nah an OT makes total sense

I could see DeJean R1, with Jordan Morgan in R2 and one of Ford/Cooper in R2. I wouldn’t be upset at all.

I was just gonna respond to that tidbit saying I’d give Pierce a chance here. He has that D playing great.

Still think Steen could be a solid NFL player, but the Eagles are a team that bounces from one fad to the next and beating it to absolute death. Their latest fad is only drafting guys from Alabama or Georgia. Which in the long run will be more successful than some of their other fads. Because those schools produce a lot of talent. But I find it hard to believe in every round those guys just happened to be the best players on their board. I think Howie has found his latest obsession.

Im frankly tired of their extreme philosophy shifts. Just identify good players and draft them.

In the top half of round 1, you want near perfect prospects.  And the near perfect prospects are going to be UGA and Alabama.   But later in the draft, going Alabama and UGA will ensure you don’t get many/any diamonds in the rough (unless it’s some athletic stud that backed up one of their first round picks). Because if those programs didn’t get the most out of you, neither will we.

He won’t be ready for next season

@HazletonEagle you think Brown will be ready to go in less than 8 months if he tore his ACL?

incorporate extra pushing, like the bills are doing, not their version of the shove, but the play before.  Throw to big person, hard to tackle, say jack stoll, and have the oline push him.

That is a good one.  Pushing up and over.   Mailata pushing Covey.   You can't throw a player,  but you can push him.

I don’t know if the Eagles read the board, but if so, heads up: Todd Bowles blitzes. A lot.

Holy crap. What a run by Allen

I was a major Hurts hater pre-2022.  I really ate that crow and loved the 2022 run.  I always criticize any deviations from perfection from whomever the franchise QB of the moment is…they need to be held to a very high standard.  But aside from that, I haven’t been critical of Hurts’ future here…been really hesitant to do so after all that crow.  But I’m really questioning it now.  If Hurts is going to be an average to above average passer plus tush push extraordinaire with a $250m ball and chain, the Eagles will never be able to compete with teams that get serviceable QB play on budget deals or teams with generational QBs on mega-deals.

I don’t really have an issue with the contract because that’s just how it goes for quarterbacks now. If you’re above average to good, you’re going to get a mega deal. SF will have to pay Purdy, Miami will have to pay Tua, and Jacksonville will have to pay Lawrence. I think they’re all good QBs but nothing special. Mahomes, Lamar, Allen, and Burrow are kind of in their own realm. But the way the market is and how agents negotiate, it’s always off the latest deal. The verdict is still out on Herbert and he got a mega deal too. But the Chargers aren’t going to start over again.

Perhaps in hindsight it might have been the correct move to slow play the extension on Hurts. Have him show that 2022 wasn’t an aberration and have him prove it again this season. And then maybe go the franchise tag route if you weren’t satisfied with this season, but you don’t know if that strategy fractures the relationship with Hurts. Lurie and Roseman have always been loyal to guys with that stuff, so there was probably never going to be an alternative to what they did.

This schmuck

Sad that an injury to a rookie safety who pretty much sucked all year except one great *punt* return is so concerning for the S picture next year.

Spent the day at disney world with the family and wasn't able to catch the game.  Checking in here before looking at the score online or anything.  How'd we do? Win by a tuddy or 2 against that garbage arse NY team? The boys looking recomposed and ready for the playoffs???

Bruh. You missed the Scott AND Penny game!

Maybe if he goes to Aaron Rodgers doctor?

I’m still convinced he only traded up for Ringo because he was geeking out about the narrative of drafting 5 Georgia players from the Georgia defense as a talking point.

They played them in week 3 didn't they?

I don't really remember but did they blitz a ton in that game?

Unfortunately you usually need competent LBs for that amount of blitzing to be consistently successful. We don't believe in them around these parts.

Dude, seriously. Covey might be the only thing you and I agree on. I thought you liked him? I want him to get more playing time too on offense. But throwing him the ball and then having our 6’8 300+ pound LT pushing him from behind into a LB hitting him from the front? Do you like him or want him dead? I truly can’t tell.

Thats nonsense

Ringo was young and had some exceptional traits. Totally the kind of move to make for a corner

Consistency is the key in life

Not sure if this has been discussed but who are the Eagles free agents this year?
