Can we all finally agree that after a monster stat line of 6 carries for 16 yards and also getting Jalen Hurts killed, Rashaad Penny being a healthy scratch made perfect sense?

Too small of a sample size. Giant killer looked similar.

Wait, Glazer said before the game that AJ Brown told him they need to "start believing in the coaches?”

Good God. It’s over.

Think he means the coordinators

I wish DK had a bet for amount of blitzes Bowles brings. I’m guessing it’s gonna be like 60-65% seeing just how bad we are at it.

Yeah I mean it could be more than that. He may just bring it on every play bar 4th down.

When have we seen something so simple be used to scheme open a player of ours?

Hurts injury update

I will say this, he will run the ball.

Thats kinda why i think he might be a good fit if sirianni can get a complimentary passing game going

They are both an extension of Sirianni, Johnson in particular.

At one point wasn't Hurts doing pretty well against the blitz? Hell happened.

Idk sheil and solak talked about the eagles and hurts not being good against the blitz last year. I believe it was actually the thing they said hurts needed to make the biggest improvement in. last year i believe we were somewhere in the 20s per dvoa vs. blitz. Just so happens we didn’t turn it over a lot, usually got ahead in a lot of games and the defense was able to get stops. Been 2 years the eagles haven’t learned how to adjust to blitzes and not good. It’s on our coaches and hurts. At some point coaches get fired and if hurts can’t figure it out then he’s gonna keep seeing it and regress more

That's your "starting" back 7. How many of those players would you realistically want back next year playing full time snaps?

Honestly, none.

They are just saving him for the playoffs

The other guy no other NFL team ever wants?

Yea, they both stink.

I don't know if he is the answer for PHI or not, but I will say if you take the HC responsibilities off of a Coordinator they are typically tons better at thier primary role as coordinator. Smith has definitely struggled as a HC but he has had the same record, 7-10 three straight years, at least he's consistent.

I don't think he's the guy for PHI personally, but I think if he gets a chance as an OC for anyone, he will be better than he has been at ATL for the last three years.

I know some are going to have to be back just by default but yeah I mean honestly? Cunningham maybe just because he's been fine this year (but he'd need to be super cheap). Slay will be back and he's been OK this year but he is getting closer to the big fall off. Other than that I mean just nobody. Bradberry needs to go, Morrow has not been good, Byard has not been good, Maddox is a good player but can't stay healthy and Blankenship I think gets overrated. He's an OK player, he's good if he is your back up but as a starter? He's limited and gets exposed.

We went 11-5.  We have many coordinators they can poach.

Don’t get why Boston scott got $2 mil and is on this roster. He’s 28 going on 29. Can find a younger back with potential and more upside that can also play special teams for way less money. Scott isn’t worth the money. Neither was quez. Both should’ve been let go.

If I’m Todd Bowles i just blitz every play. Eagles coaches and hurts can’t figure it out. We are still shocked that teams blitz us and make no adjustments to them.

In fairness to Hurts, it seems like the coaches don't give him any easy solutions for pressure.

We should trade Sirianni to them for their first round pick.

And this is where we now start to enter this interesting discussion during the offseason of where the blame lies and who has the bulk of it etc. Howie brought Scott back on that deal so as a player who has hardly played that is not a good look for Howie. But then who picks who plays and what players are on the field during what plays? I mean this stinking coaching group could not even figure out that Scott has slayed the Giants time after time yet barely saw the field in both games.

I like him, seems to be around the ball a lot and brings a load.

I think it's kind of hard to make a lot of informed decisions/opinions about what you have in the younger guys in the back 7 because this year PHI didn't have a typical PHI front 4 getting a lot of pressure. I mean if you have some of these younger guys in last years back seven isn't the discussion a lot different? Hard to judge young secondary talent(or lack thereof) when you aren't getting to the opposing QB quick enough IMO, it's hard to cover these new route schemes and smaller quicker receivers and backs out of the backfield beyond the initial route option.

Hurts injury update

It looked nasty on TV.  Glad he's OK.   They still better run the ball next week.

I think they will bring the blitz without fear. Bowles likes to blitz and will know Hurts and this offense can't handle the blitz. He's going to blitz on more than 50% of plays surely?

They could beat the blitz sometimes if they would throw a RB screen once a century.  The middle screen against KC was very successful and we haven't seen once since.

The bombshell report about what went wrong this season is going to be something else

Reed and Byard are it.  I think they both can be upgraded but I hope they look to add through the draft.

It's like 10th down the list of problems, but the RB room never, ever made any sense this year. 3 active undersized backs with redundant skill sets, not one of them can pass protect. Scott's KOR ability has all but been nullified due to the rule change.
