Don't know if it was this play or another but OZ was actually open twice in a play. One for like 10 yards and then another for a deep play

Happens frequently. Their routes against pressure can be hot garbage. Undeniably so, but Hurts leaves a lot on the field as well.

I WATCHED him hold the ball on on outlet pass that would have gotten more yards but he waited. Don't wait. Hit the outlet.

But they have to give him some outlets, too.

Once more, here is an idea.  Hit an RB or Goedert or AJ with a slant or forward screen. OMG how hard can this be?

He does it a lot. Then he rolls right and tosses it out of bounds.

I just read the ESPN Computer has the Eagles at a 57.9% chance of winning against the Bucs ...

Hurts needs to get the ball out....blame the coaches. Is this on the coaches or is it a QB who can't throw the ball under pressure?

But all the people who have no idea what they're talking about are going to whine about no hot routes.

Wink Martindale just resigned from the Giants. Bring him in now and fire Patricia.

He's definitely regressed this year. Hopefully whoever is the OC and/or QB coach next season can get him back on track. If Lurie and Howie keep them then we're Fed

A. So you and Solak are mind readers and can see into the dude's brain as to what his intent was. Cool story bro.

B. He was implying the Giants weren't trying in a meaningless game which again was total BS, and the main point I was making that seems to be flying over your head.

A. He could have at least tried to hit him instead of just side step out of the way. And with how soft Watkins is, I doubt he makes the catch if he gets hit.

B. He was talking only about that ONE specific play. Which I was too. Not in general. Nice strawman though.

Don't criticize Jalen Hurts without saying it's not all him. Everyone walking on eggshells saying anything negative about him. It's OK to say a QB has played bad.

Back to when wentz was here a loottttttttttttt of people just put it all on him. I’d always say wentz is a big part of the problem. But so is Doug’s offensive play calling and system. As well as the garbage they had at WR for much of 2019 and all of 2020.

I’ll say the same thing here. Hurts is a big part of the problem. He has had a turnover problem this year and he’s not making quick decisions or taking advantage of what the defense is giving him this year. He’s not been anywhere as consistent as he was in 2022. He’s had flashes but never consistent. That said their play calling and coaching has been miserable. We refuse to utilize guys to their best ability. We call idiotic play calls at random times. And we have stupid penalties or shoot ourselves in the foot. It’s a collective team breakdown just like when wentz was here.

That's where we are here.  I like Siri.  He can be a bit emotional and immature with big wins, but I think he's an even keeled, respectable guy.  It may not have taken 13 years like AR, but this team has completely lost it under his guidance.  Like the end of AR, Chip, and Doug...performing simple tasks, adjustments, assignments...things ALL of these guys, coaches and players alike...are fully capable of doing...it's just not happening.  It's like a flash grenade went off inside NovaCare and the entire organization is too stunned to function.

When that happens, you need new leadership.

Also...unlike AR, who was an offensive X/O savant with a system...Siri brings nothing tangible to the table.  He's a "Tomlin" HC.  If he can't touch the defense and the offense goes as the OC goes, Siri has no function aside from being the leader.  He's not going to go somewhere else and build a novel offense that takes the league by storm.

Lastly, they need to accelerate the timetable.  If Siri brings nothing tangible to the offense, then they need someone new in here immediately to salvage Hurts before it's too late and he's fully Wentz'd.  If they salvage Hurts, we win.  If it's more of the same with Hurts and a new HC, then the sooner we realize that, the better off we are too.

I think this situation is closer to the Chip Kelly situation than anything else.  Major difference is that Chip Kelly was a blow-hard, un-likable person and Siri is (almost) the opposite.

Sirianni seems like a genuinely good dude that would be fun to have a beer with.

Unfortunately, that doesn’t always cut it in the NFL.  If you fail to innovate, adjust your system (like you mentioned) the NFL will eat you alive.  And unfortunately, that seems to be the case with Sirianni.

All Hurts needs to do is give a non-verbal signal to AJ Brown to run a slant.  Hot route #1, implemented.

Hurts at least has weapons though. Very nice ones too

Off topic  , but boy is Edgerrin Cooper a stud backer , really good in coverage  , top 70 pick is my guess

It's pretty frustrating how we have Brown, Smith, Goedert, Swift, and we're struggling like this

Penny is no longer a mystery after yesterday.  The dude flat out can’t block.   As in - worst ever at it bad.

So the guy had trouble on one block, against an upper tier linebacker in the league no less... Penny NEVER plays, EVER. We're in the last damn week of the season and now they decide to throw him a few plays. Great, so he completely sucks and is useless because he failed at that one block in the second game he's been active all season. How many total snaps did the guy even play this year? 15?

Sorry but I'm not agreeing with that. Maybe if he actually played a bit consistently he would be more into a rhythm and use to actually playing in a live game but we will never know. And if he is that bad then shame on Howie for never finding anyone else. Complete disaster this team is.

Idk think this is more like doug at the end. Doug’s problem was his offense was super simplistic and he ran the same stuff over and over again. We discussed it during 2020 and 2019. We complained about Doug not running motion. We’ve complained about that with nick. we complained about Doug running the same offensive plays over and over again and teams knew it. We’ve complained about that with nick. With Doug we complained about questionable play calling in situations. We’ve complained about that with nick. I think the only difference is that wentz was clearly done and the talent on that roster in 2020 was far worse. But before the season everyone thought they’d make the playoffs and compete

That’s what makes this way more frustrating. If we had a mcvay or shanahan right now, the eagles are likely far better off. Hurts still would need to be better in areas but are also likely maximizing their talent. I’m guessing swift easily looks better on the passing game. Defense would still be an issue.

My #1 want on night 2 of the draft.

Deebo, Aiyuk, Kittle, CMAC and a weaker OL… no problem.

Hurts in a Shanahan scheme = Tua… not as exciting but sustainable.

Sounds like DC OC Eric Bieniemy, rubbed a lot of the players the wrong way, why he never got an intern job and Riveria stayed around.

FWIW, I did a mock draft simulator and got him in the 2nd round.  I also took Trotter in the 1st round.  Pure fantasy but it felt good to take 2 LBs in the 1st and 2nd rounds.

Yeah but you’d have brown, smith, goedert and swift excelling to another level with their talent and putting them in a better position to succeed. So it makes up for hurts not being as exciting.

Coaching and I'm not a fan of Shanahan

This idea that the team has been losing games and losing higher seeding because they're holding back for the playoffs is insanity

Not surprising as mccoy said that all offseason
