All I keep reading about Trotter is he can’t cover worth a darn.

I think he’s an upgrade over Dean, as he’s better in the box and tackles everything  - but Cooper/Wilson are guys who can play in space.

We have Reddick for that!

What else did I miss other than apparent doom😅

We're keeping Patricia for 2024 season. Surprise!

A dog took a dump on the Giants field pregame and that wasn't the biggest pile of ish on the field that day

No mention of Hurts and turnovers? Everyone can slob all over Hurts but can't say one negative thing about him. He's a big reason why they are the worst team in football. It's OK to admit it.

It was all part of the plan. The script.

Eagles did it on purpose.

Bucs by 20

Not a real good backer draft , and you got a load of RS SR older prospects

FWIW, I did a mock draft simulator and got him in the 2nd round.  I also took Trotter in the 1st round.  Pure fantasy but it felt good to take 2 LBs in the 1st and 2nd rounds.

I'd take Cooper or Ford over Trotter. R1 I want Cooper DeJean or Kinchens.

Idk think this is more like doug at the end. Doug’s problem was his offense was super simplistic and he ran the same stuff over and over again. We discussed it during 2020 and 2019. We complained about Doug not running motion. We’ve complained about that with nick. we complained about Doug running the same offensive plays over and over again and teams knew it. We’ve complained about that with nick. With Doug we complained about questionable play calling in situations. We’ve complained about that with nick. I think the only difference is that wentz was clearly done and the talent on that roster in 2020 was far worse. But before the season everyone thought they’d make the playoffs and compete

Nah.  Doug innovated as much as he could depending on the level of his QB.

The only reason Pederson isn’t the Eagles’ coach right now is because he stood up to Howie/Lurie and said he wouldn’t fire certain people and let them hire other people.

Plus the entire Wentz fiasco.  Basically Wentz’ camp made it seem (to the Eagles brass) that if Pederson was gone, he would play ball.  But in the end, Wentz Wentzzzzed (like the idiot that he is) and Pederson got canned.

The good thing about this draft are that there are so many holes on defense that they don't have to worry about BPA or drafting for need. The chances are BPA will fill a need.

But they will F it up.

They should at least interview both.

But those guys may not be as inclined to tell Jeffrey and Howie what Jeffrey and Howie want to hear.

(talking about Leslie Frazier & Wink Martindale)

Bad thing about the draft is that it typically doesn’t provide immediate help, so the current roster + FA bandaids + better coaching is best hope for the D in ‘24.

Cooper is my guy

Reading some past comments from the blog, did the offense really not have any answers to the blitz again?

For the Eagles it doesn't provide immediate help. I see rookies all over the NFL putting up numbers but not the Eagles. Jalen Carter gave us glimpses but totally fell off. I don't understand the Eagles failure to find young rookie help.

That’s a bunch of crap to pretend Doug’s offense had no flaws or he wasn’t an issue. It was discussed then and you choose to ignore it out loving Doug for winning a title. With Doug in 2019 and 2020 we talked about them not using enough motion, running the same plays over and over again, bad situationally and his offense wasn’t very creative. Doug got fired cause he wouldn’t play nice with howie and Lurie but the problems the offense had including a turnover prone Qb that was highly inconsistent are exactly the same today but with inferior personnel at Wr

In 2019 people brought up them not running motion enough and not rolling out Carson Wentz even though the numbers prove he was better outside of the pocket. That was a huge topic of discussion for like the first three months of the year. He’s so innovative that he’s having the same issues with another Qb in Jacksonville and press Taylor is his OC calling same Plays over and over. Lawrence wasn’t very good but Doug/press’ offensive game plans and designs were basically stuff he reverted back to and eventually teams picked up on it

2023 eagles: not a lot of motion, not very creative and run same plays over and over again expecting talent to win out

Doug’s eagles offense in 2019-2020: not a lot of motion, using the same plays over and over again and very little creativity.

Agreed, the eagles purposely seem to hold back their rookies - that said, DET went LB and S 1 and 2 on two of the safest players in the last draft and that D is still cheeks.

They had answers but they were all wrong answers.

Yes. Just like in 2021, 2022, and again in 2023. Wonder if we will struggle in 2024 against it?
