I wasn’t…4 teams didn’t lose a regular season game.  Only 2 of them got a chance to prove themselves.

Legit.  3 teams have room to boast.  4 others are on the outside looking in.  There isn’t a year in recent history that you can expand without diluting the product.  Hell last year they didn’t even need to play any playoff games.  Same as year before.

Yes, we ended up with great games…but the end doesn’t justify the reasoning.  FSU got hosed.  Many can disagree about liberty, but they still ran the table till the end of the regular season?

That’s the NCAA for you. Looking to hype extra games for more money. Hopefully they fill the month of Dec with some meaningful games before all the "Your Company Name Here” bowl games full of 6-7 mediocre programs. It’s all so watered down now.

Yeh FSU did get hosed, were they really even going to compete without their starting QB though? Liberty…who did they beat in the Conf Championship? New Mexico ? Their SoS eliminated them, not the first time a non power 5 got left out.

Something rubbed me wrong the past 2 years about talking bad about him.  He’s too accurate to make that correlation…but the tape doesn’t lie.  His mechanics might be worse TBH though.

Too many teams make the NFL playoffs.  It's a small move towards the NBA and NHL where the regular season is completely meaningless background television.  

2 elite teams in the entire league get the coveted bye.  And the rest of the teams that care more about winning than their draft pick end up with an anticlimactic regular season that really didn't matter much, as they end up in a morass of wild card weekend games.

No one needs to see the Cowboys and Bills annihilate the Packers and Steelers.  Then people get to say Dak wins in the playoffs.  That's not a playoff win.  That's a 1pm regional game in October where they pull their starters in the 4th quarter.

But they need the money of the extra game.

You play the schedule you have…both teams did that.  Better than 2 teams that made the playoffs that sat home watching tonight.  FSU and Liberty aren’t Air Force loading their schedule with cupcakes to inflate the record either.  They both played the schedule as best as they could.

I like the 6 team format, top two teams in conference get a bye. Seemed more balanced and fair, plus it rewards good conference play for two teams. Worked well for a long time.

The bye week will be replaced with the #1 seed being allowed to choose 3 players from other teams in their conference to play for them in the playoffs.

Expand on this…NCAAF is a 2 conference sport now…but IDK if you’ll see a team from either the SEC or Big 10 go undefeated again with these mergers.

Side note…the AP Poll would have picked the National Champion correctly this year under the pre BCS way.  Michigan beat Washington…they only needed to play last week in the Rose Bowl as is tradition.
