Would be hilarious for him if they ended up going on a miraculous run to get to the SB again. He'll make up some excuse about it or just pretend he didn't say it

There would be no reason to. As it stands, right now, it isn't crazy to talk about him possibly being gone. This team just suffered one of the worst collapses in league history and is probably about to get trounced in the playoffs after playing like crap all year.

If they go on a miracle run he obviously stays, and I don't think anyone would care at that point

Imagine your alma mater having two of the greatest HC to ever do it in the college ranks...and win 12 Natties between them...incredible.

🤔

I'm imagining it.  It would be weird.  Drexel doesn't even have a football team.

But, for the record, I think Saban is overhyped as a 'coach'.  Great recruiter.  Very good coach.  But, it doesn't take the greatest coach of all time to turn from one 5 star recruit to the next... lather, rinse, repeat.    He was a very good coach at Michigan State... but he didn't become a better coach at Alabama, just had an easier time with the recruiting.   And so he almost always had a talent advantage whenever he went on the field.  And when he didn't... he didn't win nearly as often.  Jimmy's and Joe's made Saban what he is, not the X's and O's.  Don't get me wrong... very good coach, but not a GOAT candidate for me.

Heck of a basketball program though...😁, at least in the 90's

You lost me...I was referring to Paul Bryant/Bear Bryant. I read his biography as a young teen, fascinating story. Not related, I also read Larry Czonka's biography...really good read as well.

I dunno, you told me to imagine my alma matter HC's. I'm blanking on the one guy to win 12 National Titles

You think he has any interest in recruiting at this point?

That and the fact my family didn’t have a college team is why I never got into college football

Stop it. You’ll make me ***

Nick Saban, legendary West Virginian.  Grew up pretty close to where I live now. We used to play the pop warner team he played for, the Idamay Black Diamonds.  Always a bunch of tough country kids. They have a field where the corner of the end zone is uphill.

I dunno. I think I remember he was pretty close to going back 2 or 3 years ago last time they tried.

He also won a title in 2003 with LSU. Dude is the GOAT and won it different ways.
