Yeah and Sirianni never called plays before while Ben Johnson has.

Not enough of a difference that I think it's smart risking it with another young coach. The endless search for the next McVay is overrated and I don't think it's a good idea in Philadelphia. Neither the organization or the fans have the necessary patience for it, and firing more coaches if we get rid of Sirianni this year is going to make the Eagles look like a garbage organization. Therefore, it's absolutely required that the next hire if Sirianni is fired can be long term and stabilize the organization.

To do that, it is required that whoever is hired needs to not be just good, but able to adapt to getting more tape on the offense in question. Young coaches have less tools to adapt with, if everything else is the same. Not saying they can't do it, but it's much harder than when someone has notable experience in different systems to draw from. Doug for example had the benefit of not just coaching but his experience under a myriad of systems as a Journeyman QB. Things like this are important in situations where organizations are impatient.

Unless we totally ish our pants I don't see that.  Baker hasn't practiced all week either and they just scored 9 points themselves.

The Eagles game plan is writing itself, just run the ball and end every drive with a kick/punt.

If the coaches somehow F this up there's zero doubt they all deserve to be fired.

Good grammar is always worthy.

pointing out grammar issues on a sports message board is very pedantic, boorish, and elitist.

It's a fan ran message board about an NFL franchise, this isn't Oxford University. One's education level, specifically in regards to grammar, does not directly corellate to their ability to be a fan, and to make and give iinformed opinions.

Often when someone like Hunt points out the grammar mistakes, it is a AD HOMINEM attack, meant to degrade the individual.

and we should. This team has no heart, lacks adquate coaching, and threw in the towel after losing to San Fran and Dallas.

in short they quit.

I sure wish that best owner was the best owner for the 76ers. Is the process actually Fing over yet?

If Hurts is limited, and AJ is limited, maybe we actually commit to the run in a driving rainstorm?

Nah...Brian's gonna outfox them and pass every play.

IF you move on from Nick (which I don't think will happen), you almost have to hire one of 3 guys: Belichick, Vrabel or Harbaugh. You can't bring in an inexperienced coach and sell that to the locker room and the fan base. If you make the change, you're saying we have a roster built to win now, and we can't have guys learning on the job. You have to make a CLEAR upgrade to an experienced head coach -- basically, we couldn't pass on the chance to hire this guy.

Belichick and Hurts might be a very strong duo. But I just don't see it happening.

I was outside last night in -42 wind chill.  About 3 minutes to walk to the end of the block to check on a broken gate.  It causes physical pain as your skin begins to freeze; no way I'd be outside watching a football game for 3-4 hours in even -23 wind chill when I could watch it at home on the couch.

Yeah, that's cold.  I'm going to have -30 coming up next week if the forecast holds.  Just one day but I'll have to go outside to walk the dog minimum.  That will be a quick one.

The Office gif. Ed Helms as Andy Bernard shakes his head while frowning, as if to say, "nah."

Out of all the head coaches I see available, I am most intrigued by Mike McDonald and Bobby Slowik. I don't really see the other big names as anything that impressive, mostly just retreads.

Nope. It’s still going. Joel is hurt again. Looking forward to him having a nagging injury in the playoffs again.

I'd be more willing to buy in if they didn't look so utterly inept against teams that are supposed to be "inferior". As it is, I need to see it before I believe it.
