Didn't Elway basically do the same thing or similar? Never really liked him for that.

Yeah.  Trade me or I'll play baseball I think was his plan of action.

Same.  I thought we might be one and done vs the Falcons and going into the Vikings upon seeing the pumped up crowd thought "Why, we are about to get our s*** pushed in". But after that game I 100% believed we were getting it done vs the Falcons.  My (soon to be ex) brother in law asked "You guys getting it done".  I said "Yeah, I don't know how, but it's happening".

This is different.  I'm watching this game 50% out of habit and 50% out of obligation as a fan.  But I couldn't be less excited for a playoff game.

Sorry if my love of the English language offends you. I feel comfortable with that. Calling me pedantic, boorish, and elitist smacks of an ad hominem attack, don’t you think?

- I dont think so, no, the behaviour fits. My topic of conversation was eactly about how people tend to point out grammar errors as an insult.  And that behavior is elitist. It wasn't necessarily aimed at you- more so anyone who does these things.

If that offends you. well, be offended then.

When I read the original post about the Facebook group I took it as sarcasm toward the group itself and their stance on "constructive comments”. That was the only thing "constructive” (grammar) the OP could/would offer to avoid getting kicked/ banned from the group…I thought it was amusing, btw F fb. Deleted my acct 3 years ago.

Frankly it was a very difficult decision, I did export everything possible (pics, etc). My friend group is pretty small and we communicate via text group mostly. Being from a small town outside of DAL where we still live, my wife's acct keeps us (me) in touch. I do value acquaintences, but rely on close friends in time of need.

Great point though, it just became a political opinion cesspool that I didn't want to be subjected to anymore.

Took a quick look at some QB prospects; nothing in-depth as the Eagles aren't in the QB1 market at the draft.  My impressions of the 4 guys I watched:

Caleb Williams -- Uber talented physically, somewhat awkward and gangly, the arm strength is great but his habit of retreating straight backward is really bad.  His size is also a concern if he's actually 6'1 and 218 although he does look a bit taller.  Way too many off-script adlibs that won't work in the NFL

Drake Maye -- strikes me as a combination of Justin Herbert and Sam Darnold.  Prototypical QB size, really good arm, good mobility although it doesn't look like he protects himself very well.  I only mention Darnold because of his face; he looks too much like Sam Darnold.

Jayden Daniels -- didn't expect to like his tape but I did.  Pretty good arm, accurate, his mobility is special.  He runs too much but is damn exciting when he does; resembles Lamar Jackson in his running.  Not sure about his size -- is he 185 lbs or 210?  I've seen both, and obviously 200+ would be much better for his style.

Michael Penix Jr. -- expected to like his tape but wasn't impressed.  He'll be 24 when next season starts, been in college 6 years.  Good arm but not great, doesn't seem very athletic, his arm slot is a bit down to the side ... a bit like Baker Mayfield's throwing motion but without as much zip.

This could have been misinterpreted:  they probably had him in bubble wrap all week to keep him safe.

BTW, I do know you can manage contacts/content by unfollowing, ignore, hide, etc...on many social platforms, I didn't/don't want to put that much work into it.

Why? He's gonna flame out, especially if he goes to NY. His diva personality will thrive there

He came back a couple of weeks ago right ? or was it just last week ? Had a stinger or something in the first game back? Some guys just have the worst freaking luck with injuries. Sean Lee was awesome but injured it seems every year kind of like Maddox

Two weeks ago, and did something to his elbow but it wasn't serious. He's always missing at least half the year for something recently.

I know it's just because of injury but hopefully that sticks

My recollection of him in the games I remember from the last few years, he's around the football a lot, not necessarily getting picks but a solid defender/tackler, kind of on the small side for safety though isn't he?

I sign up for all platforms and then block everyone.  Makes me feel superior.  No need to answer this post, as I have you blocked.

As a rookie he played some safety and excelled.

Small sample but he's been up and down as a CB. Mostly like you said,  around the ball but he almost never making a play on the ball.  He's like an automatic reception and then immediate tackle.

It seems like he can be a solid slot or potentially an even better, actually dynamic playmaking safety.

He's kinda small but so was Gardner Johnson.

Either way he's going to get injured and miss a bunch of games so I guess it doesn't matter much at this point. The injury prone label is earned.

FWIW, my groin is also sore, but I still practice with it every damn day.

Maddox is a better safety (or at least was) than corner.
