Lol, I believe Washington's last playoff win was after the 2005 season.

It was.  (And it was a miracle they even won that one). So 19 years.  JFC they suck

I don't get this type of fandom. Dallas is the biggest rival for the Eagles. We don't like the gmen or the redskins, but we hate and loath the cowgirls. This is what being a true NFL fan is all about.

I have a buddy, young guy really, but he is a huge Raider fan, die hard, doesn't matter how bad the Raiders are honestly, he loves them, but he has a huge hatred for the Chiefs (and Mahomes). He has always hated the Chiefs because the Chiefs are the most hated rival of the Raiders. That is how this works!!!

You can hate a team especially a rival like Dallas, without being obsessed with them.

I hate Dallas and always want them to lose but I ain't losing sleep over it.

Rams not calling a timeout before that play is ridiculous. Had 97 covering Laporta they were doomed

I'll be rooting for the Lions to beat the 49ers when tbwh play them.  This is the Lions window before they lose Ben Johnson to the Eagles as their next HC

Can’t see Belichick fitting in with Jerry…would shock me.

The thing about the Cowboys for older Eagles fans has a long history of hatred.  The DVD set of the Philadelphia Eagles history does a good job showing that history and the buildup to the 1980 NFC Championship game.  Clips or maybe even all of that might be on YouTube as well.

Younger fans that only knew the team after Lurie bought it and they started having a lot of regular season success under Reid and then a Super Bowl win with Doug don't know the struggles of the past.  They also got used to winning and they've called some games the "worst loss" they've ever seen or worst seasons.  Lurie has fired a coach anytime the team has had a bad season.  So under Lurie they haven't had a long drought of losing.

But in the past: they were awful with bad ownership and losing teams.  Long droughts.  Younger fans also don't realize some things about the game.  There used to be a lot more rounds of the draft, there was no salary cap and free agency was different.  The teams with the richest owners could buy all the players.  Also before cable, national fans only really saw the most popular teams like the Cowboys, Steelers and Packers. Teams who were winning and popular got air time.  That's one of the reasons certain teams have fans all over the country.

Philly had an inferiority complex for a long time as well with Dallas.  They were the flashy ones with money and celebrities.  1 reporter called them "America's Team" on the air and that was it, that stuck for a long time.  Finally, Dick Vermeil brought a winning culture to the team.  The phrase "Beat Dallas" became so important.  They got over the hump by beating them in the 1980 NFCCG.  Then in the 90s the Eagles had a brutal defense under Buddy Ryan. He talked a lot of trash.  The team beat up the Cowboys in the regular season, Aikman still talks about getting hit by that defense.  But...Buddy Ryan never won a playoff game.  And for all the trash talk about tough defense, we had to watch the Cowboys win 3 Super Bowls in the 90s and the media went nuts over them, bandwagon fans all over the country (the type that happen to like the Bulls, Lakers, Yankees, any team that wins multiple championships) came out like cockroaches.

Yes it's true they haven't won a championship since back then. And it's understandable that younger fans see the modern Cowboys as frauds and choking and easy to laugh at.  There's a long history of hatred for the Cowboys and it's great seeing them choke like this especially Jerry spending so much money on a new stadium and them having high expectations.  We can laugh at them, but many Eagles fans are also bothered by the media hyping them up, announcers always talking them up and showing bias and always, always want them to lose.

Vermeil was awesome really liked him there. Wilbur Montgomery and Carmichael were fun to watch also. I thought BR was there in ‘87 through early 90s? Maybe Kotite in 87 and 88, but Buddy was there in 89 right?

I don't follow the jones really well but it doesn't seem like belicheck would be a good fit if he can't have complete control of GM duties..
Thats the same reason I don't think he'll come to Philly.

I can't see Belichick going anywhere to coach.   Why would he want to risk his reputation?  He's widely considered the GOAT (wrongly, but it is what it is).   Why go to a team that has a meddlesome owner, who gets in the way and tries to make it all about himself?  What's really in it for Bill?  He's 71 years old (will be 72 by the time the draft rolls around) and doesn't have to worry about money.

That's why it sucks that Snyder is no longer the owner. Nothing but incompetence

Buddy came after the Bears won the Super Bowl in '85.  So, Buddy was here from 1986 through 1990.  Kotite was 1991 - 1994.

Yeh no idea really. Just need someone who can win in the playoffs…I’d take Fonzie at this point, if he can find his magic playbook.

15 games to pass Shula…I think that matters to him.

Hmmm... maybe.   So 2 more seasons?

Bounty controversy 😂 crazy times back then. That kicker was like "dude I’m not trying to make a tackle”.

The question for Dallas isn’t the head coach. McCarthy is out, and another puppet (not Belichick or Harbaugh) will be hired. The question is Dak. He will be looking for a record breaking, ~60mm per year extension. At some point you have to accept that someone is exactly who he has showed himself to be - not the guy. Giving Dak that extension would be crippling.

And I am beyond happy that Jerry is likely to do it.

He's going for the all time wins record.

The issue is Dak. You guys need to face it and not give him huge money.

We've got a ball game.

I didn't realize that was still on the horizon.
