Oh man. I remember those days! My dad had a dish too and it was so cool watching how sports and news broadcasters cut it up during the commercials.

My cousin got one as soon as they came out, I thought he was running radar for the DoD...😂. Damn things were huge.

Well, they actually have answers, they just refuse to utilize them.

Of course NBC says that, they want us common folk to think this is what we all want! I wonder how accurate those numbers are. For instance, I know of state fairs that report record ticket sales year after year but the real numbers are a fraction of what they actually sell but in order to keep the local attitudes about the fairs positive they have show these "record" numbers.

They really should have just broadcast it on both NBC and Peacock and put some commercials for Peacock into the NBC broadcast to market it. They shouldn't have changed the way they've done it during regular season.  A playoff game was a bad time to do it, it makes some fans want to protest against it.  Paramount+ does the same, airing the local CBS games on that service.  The way people consume media is changing.  Live sports is the main thing making people keep their cable/satellite bills.  Regular shows on network TV and cable are mostly garbage or can be watched on Hulu, but there's so much live sports if you have cable or satellite.

People are mad about Peacock but the NFL uses Amazon Prime Video for Thursday Night Games and not everyone has a prime account.  Everyone has accepted cable for years but lots of people (like me) cut the cord on cable years ago and don't get games on ESPN, or other sports that are on TBS, TNT, etc.  It's a transition period as they are testing out what will work in the future.

The positive to this is the potential for future services that you can stream games that you don't get locally.  The NFL knows people stream on illegal sites, and often the picture is bad or cuts out, the site times out and you have to refresh, there are a lot of ads to click and potential viruses plus you have to get on a laptop and hook it up to your TV.  The NFL should take advantage of this and work out where games can be streamed legally on services.  Whether that's pay per view or a package.  I really wish they would make a package where you can buy your team and watch every game of the season including playoffs no matter what service or channel it's on.  Modern fans have moved around the country, many fanbases have fans all over the country and the world.  Sunday Ticket doesn't even show all the games, it doesn't include night games or playoffs.  They need a full experience. Fans would pay for it.

This is the coaching question. It is as clear as day to prep a game plan of blitzing the Eagles. If the Eagles do not introduced Swift as a routine checkdown, then no one on the coaching staff knows what they are doing. IMHO

They’ve had all year to find some answers but have repeatedly failed to do so. Doesn’t give me a lot of confidence they flip that switch that tonight.

Unless of course, these last few weeks they really have been playing possum!

the good part is you are used to this by now, taking lumps is the norm for Cowboys fans...... some 25+ years of nothing to speak of in the playoffs..... You have lots of experience

Honestly it's great seeing Jerryball go down in flames year, after year, after year, after year, after year, after year, after year, after year, after year, after year, after year, after year, after year,

I’m curious what goes on during the hours and hours of film and gameplan discussion during the week. Like does anyone bring up "Hey, we should probably scheme in some blitz beaters”?

With AJ out I am curious to see what the offense looks like. Sometimes a change like that can change tendencies nd get others more involved. Could be a good thing, you never know.

It's ridiculous that we're reading so much crap and being so down when the Eagles have a playoff game tonight.

I think we're now spoiled by recent success. There used to be a time, not long ago, when the Eagles were lucky to make the playoffs. Let's enjoy the effing ride!

Go bird!

I refused to be held hostage to watch one football game.....   I already subscribe to NFL+  no way I need to now subscribe to Amazon and Peacock. F them. They are going to lose customers over this.

I bet the ratings were a far cry from what they would have been if on regular TV.

Yea, it's going to be great relying on 85 year old Julio Jones or the guy whose a turnover waiting to happen because he's Charmin soft

Honestly, there is quite a simple game plan vs. the blitz, short quick passes.  Maybe....put Covey in the slot and let him go off!?!?!?  Hit 'em with something they don't expect?

You correct! I didn't bother to count but I am assuming you put 28 "after year" in there.😆

So you are basically Charlie brown? or the equivalent to a cowboys fan......   This is the year Charlie brown, you are going to kick that football........  This is the year Cowboy fans....  LOL

This team isn't going anywhere, it would be a miracle for them to win tonight.... a MIRACLE, because it would mean the coaches got smart... and that isn't happening.

QB should be able to read a defense and change plays yeah? Isn't that part of the position?

Or is it just part of the position to have one outlier and continue to leave the pocket to the right for an entire career?

Which is it?

Last year we ran a ton of RPO where he'd make adjustment based on the defense, but we gave up on it when teams sold out to try and stop it,  Hurts should audible to plays that the coaches haven't called all season even during heavily scripted opening drives, so presumably we haven't practised much either?  That's your answer to the offense struggling?

He can audible the odd play but the reliance on slow developing routes is a fundamental part of this years offense, he can't call the entire offense at the line, that's nonsense, Sirianni has said repeatedly they don't have hot routes installed to beat a blitz, we'd both agree that's ridiculous, but it ain't Hurts fault and he can't change it at the line.

was going to, but------  I figured they have many more years to come before success.... so I kept adding them

Will be more explosive plays.  Deep balls to quez for INTs

You aren't thinking strategically though! Who was Julio Jones last team before the Eagles? The Buccaneers. Julio is the secret weapon who can share all of the Buccaneers intel don't you know that!

So if it were me, this is really simple.....Run to start, then have Covey in the slot on one side, Goedert and Smith lined up on the other side.  Have them run continuous crossing routes, Goedert shallow, Covey med, Smith deeper.

Of course you can go to a hot read at the line of scrimmage.  Any decent QB can.
