Sounds like they have a bigger problem than play calling on their hands. Their head coach sexually assaulted their coordinator.

That series sucked.  Though not as much as losing to the Isles in six a fews later.  Robbed when Barber was called offside.

That was such a BS call.

If you ask my wife, the mother of my 2 children, how I motherF someone, she’d say, "like a damn BOSS.”

Thankfully, she does not peruse the EMB to see this.

I have the inverse problem.  The EMB bleeds into our "real life"

Out of all the Flyer teams that got to the Cup finals and lost, that one is the one to me that is the most aggravating. They had a 35-game unbeaten streak and they got hosed on the Islander goal that wasn't called offsides. That was a great team.

Of course NBC says that, they want us common folk to think this is what we all want! I wonder how accurate those numbers are. For instance, I know of state fairs that report record ticket sales year after year but the real numbers are a fraction of what they actually sell but in order to keep the local attitudes about the fairs positive they have show these "record" numbers.

If there was a free trial (I don't know if there was or not), I wonder how many people that opted for the free trial will continue with a paid subscription. Free trials are not very profitable, unless ad sales would make it profitable.

Speaking for myself I have YouTube TV right now, it's going away the day after the Super Bowl. Technically it's fine, content wise aside from football it SUCKS! I've looked at their guide when there's no football on and don't see much at all. I might look at Sling, they're cheaper and they have local stations and national sports channels. Going from cable to YouTube TV saved me about $50/month, I can probably save another $20.

When I had DirecTV I had to pay all the extra fees for additional receivers, HD programming (which should be free since the government switched to HD as the standard a long time ago), cancellation fees, setup fees, equipment fees, etc.  You also have to pay for packages to get the channels you really want.  You can get some sports channels but you have to pay for "tiers" to get others like NFL Network, Fox Sports, etc.  So if you want all these channels that are in different tiers, you spend more money but you're also paying for a bunch of channels you don't want.  If you could pick select channels at a price per channel that might be different but of course they don't gain from that.

I was spending $120/month on DirecTV.  Now I split streaming services with family and spend about $30/mo.  I signed up for Paramount+ on a discount deal earlier this year that is $2.50/month.  I paid the year up front.  That gave me Eagles games that were on local CBS.  Plus there's decent content on there like the entire Star Trek catalog, all the Mission Impossible Movies, Yellowstone and the spinoffs, etc.

For a client like me, adding another streaming service for $5 or $10 a month is no big deal since I'm not paying huge cable/satellite bills anymore (for 1,000 channels I don't ever watch).  I've looked into YouTube and Sling and all that but it's similar where you need tiers or packages to get the channels you want.  Plus, all I want would be live Philly sports.  They just need to work with YouTube or some service to make a season pass for just your team.  I don't want Sunday Ticket, I'm not going to watch 7 games at once.  I just want to watch the Eagles every week and maybe another featured game.

That might be my favorite part about cutting the cord.  To keep costs under control we use to have to be very selective to how many boxes we would have and where.  Ended up with just two TV's that had cable and the guest & basement tv would have netflix only.

Now that we went to youtube TV (and a new house) we just need firesticks (even on our smart TV we use a fire stick since we get better performance compared to the apps on the TV).  So all the bedrooms, Ellie's playroom and even the kitchen (Echo Show 15) all have full "cable".  I even put a small TV in the dining room and slapped a fire stick on it since we are working on a puzzle and we can put something on in the background.

Ha. I bet the NFL runs some of the "illegal" streaming sites to profit off the ads, knowing that peacock streaming is trash...they still make good money

There is techology / legal maneuvering gestating to put the kibosh on 'illegal' streams.  Right now it takes longer to get an 'illegal' stream shut down due to copyright violation than the game lasts. By the time the network gets authorization to demand the stream be terminated, the game is over. What is being worked on is being able to shut down 'illegal' streams in seconds or minutes rather than hours. I think I read this on theregister.com but was unable to find it in a very brief search,

I was 6 to 7 at that time and the only thing (sports wise) that I remember is falling in love with the awesome green uniforms with the helmet that had the cool looking wings on them, in the back of the Sears catalog. That was the beginning of my Eagles fandom... and being so young, I had no clue about what a division rival was or that the Eagles and Redskins were in the same division and all that lol.

I also remember getting "Creepy Crawlers" for Christmas 1975, a Star Trek Bridge set with Spock, Kirk and Scotty along with a toy M1903 rifle in 1976. But that's not relevant to a football/sports discussion lol.

I guess today's just "Memory Lane" for me lol.

From age 7 to 12 ('70 on)  went to multiple Eagles games at the Vet.  My Father (RIP) was a high ranking Philly copper involved in stadium security and I would go and sit alone or with a friend or two and he would periodically check up on us.  Amazing memories.

I have posted this before here, but I used to take my 5 year old brother (RIP) to games when I was 12-15, taking PT from NE Philly to the Vet without a hitch, to keep the tradition alive.

To top it off I took the three grandsons to their first NFL game in LA during our SB run.  All three played or play high school ball and are die hard Eagles fans.  They can root for anyone they like for other sports but not football.  That is the deal. Or the funding cuts off.

Good to know.

I'm all caught up on the Board now.

How much do we get paid for doing this EMB thing again? Because not a lick of work is getting done today.

Multiview is capped at 4 games like it was before. Though since YouTube took over it's a preselected 4 games which I'm hoping they allow us next season to select our own

Also you can get the essential paramount+ plan free with walmart+ (I get it for discounts on gas). Though they do allow you to upgrade to the ad free paramount+ tier for a discount but I didn't do that because I don't watch a lot of paramount

Wait, you mean that it doesn't have anything to do with me meeting Jennifer Lawrence?

It was still tons of RPO and read option with Steichen, but he did it better than Johnson does. As Steichen has gone on to have success with it while having a non-running threat at QB and has some blitz beating options.  Johnsons version of this offense does not, and clearly sucks.

I've said it before, but I think what's going on is basically that Siri/Steichen's offense is actually not very good for the NFL and takes a very deep understanding to make it work. So it's NFL viable, but kind of less so than other types of offenses. I think the extra year of tape on it means it more adjustments.

I think this is the biggest reason why you want to combine him with a veteran coordinator. Young coaches have issues like this and, frankly, it should almost be seen as a risk of hiring a young coach, because they have less versatility in their pockets, usually.

I think the only real ones that have low risk for this problem were former NFL players (Pederson for example) who bounced around a lot.

Now all you need is 1 Santa Claus for a franchise defining event.

The NFL is so freaking cheap. Multi billion dollar company can’t afford to clear the snow on the fans seats?

You had some crappy little league coaches, man. Then again, I had a coach pound a couple of beers while driving me home from a game.
