This was low key the most important take away last night.

I said win or lose that I like the fact that we got to see them prior to a possible Super Bowl match up.

Our offensive personnel is better than their defensive personnel, by a sizable margin. We got outcoached, even Stout’s group looked confused. It’s a good group because Spags is maximizing their talents. In the SB, we didn’t carve up the Chiefs because we outcoached them. We just had too many good skill players, and that overwhelmed them. I suspect that would happen again.

I could be wrong, but I feel like illegal contact isn't thrown that often. We see it maybe once every 10 games or so? Technically the flag on Bradberry in the super bowl was for holding, not illegal contact.

We see it every game Ricks gets snaps, lol

This team might just be a team of destiny.   Last team to win the NFC East in back to back years was 20 years ago.   Last NFC team to lose the SB and go back was a long time ago....  When was the last time a team started 9-1 without winning ANY game by at least 14?   Has it ever happened?

And yet... here we are, on pace for all of that.   Enjoying the ride, but the moments of terror each game are highly stressful.

Haha true but I mean in general, like for all teams or for us before this year. I've always said he and Jobe are way too handsy and need to learn a more sustainable way to cover receivers.

I blame Saban.   You can get away with that in the NCAA.

Chiefs were giving up 16 a game and have a really really good defense.  The Eagles stuck with the run and scored when it mattered.

After last nights game its clear to me that Brian Johnson holds this offense back

All year we've been told the eagles are top 5 in yards and points so how Bad could BJ be

This offense with all its talent is over coming BJs awful play calling.

On a side note everyone will be talking about WR Scantling big drop yet no mention from the media if the obvious holding call against jalen carter, the O line got knocked down and beat and from the ground grabs jalen carter and tries to drag him down.

I get the refs were letting guys play and holding could be called every play but when its so overtly obvious it needs to be called, sure the dude dropped it so it didnt matter but it could have.

Who has been saying that?  Johnson has been under scrutiny since week 1 and the poor RZ performances.  It has gotten better, ironically as Hurts got more banged up and they couldn't rely on him to run as much.   We need to go back to that and use Hurts' legs by design far less frequently.

Yeah, I'll admit to being perhaps a bit too harsh on BJ during the game last night, but while I'm happy with the result, I still have some serious doubts about his ability as a playcaller.

Its tough to throw later bc the OL is trying to get out in front of him. Easy to get flagged

Well it doesn't have to be a screen type play, if we're thinking about the same Texas route

I thought Devonta Smith was the best player on offense last night

Maybe it's because he was one of my favorite college players in a while, but DeVonta is becoming one of my favorite players they've had in a long time. He's not having a huge season, but he's so valuable to them in spots when needed. He's instrumental to their culture, never complains, and rises to the occasion more times than not. Guy is an absolute assassin and a grinder. Just tough as nails for his size. That's the type of player that Howie will take care of come contract time it feels like.

This makes the lack of screen game even more confusing. We all know how good Kelce is moving and in space. How can this team not figure out how to run successful RB screens?

Part of the issue with the WR screens is the other WRs need to block in order for the play to work.  Many plays this season where AJ Brown hasn't even come close to making his block.

Didn't they run two really good ones in the second half?

Who penciled the Eagles in for a 15-2 season with losses to the Rodgers-less Jets and Giants?

Get ready for it.

Only if they sit their players the last game :) And the Giant killer doesn't play.

I think the league wants to disincentivize defenses from using penalties as strategy and discourage them from just doing it and hoping they get away with it. If it’s just a 5 yard penalty, you’d see defenses being more aggressive and grabby since the punishment if caught isn’t as severe. Now that it’s an automatic first down, the risk/reward favors the offense and pushes the advantage in their favor. That leads to more plays, points, offense etc which is what the league wants.

That’s a really good point! But then why not go to the spot of the foul with any illegal contact call? I guess the problem then is  that sometimes the punishment is too harsh.

I think a team can only win so many consecutive chaotic coin flip could go either way type games.

Absolutely nothing wrong with beating the Chiefs in Arrowhead like that.  But no one is going to feel good about going down to the wire against the Giants and Cardinals when there is no margin for error for HFA.

True Eagle fashion would be going undefeated against the gauntlet and losing to the Giants while trying in the first meeting, then having to beat them week 18 to secure HFA…and having the game go down to the last play despite the Giants resting the whole team for a draft pick.  Then marching straight to the SB.

The new Golden boy's schtick is really starting to annoy

They ran a few good middle screens, but it should be a staple of the offense considering the strengths of the player on the team.

I’m still relatively new and this is the first game I’ve really engaged in the blog during the game. You guys are a blast. I can’t wait to watch the game with y’all Dec 10.

Congrats on a statement win. Ugly, but there are no pictures in the standings. Enjoy it!

For a Cowboys fan, you're all right.

Yup.

I'm guessing @Joe Ball is actually from Dallas.  Their fans down there are more in line with him than the ones up here.
