Part of the issue with the WR screens is the other WRs need to block in order for the play to work.  Many plays this season where AJ Brown hasn't even come close to making his block.

When was the last time we ran a WR screen to Aj? Feels like it’s been a while. If I’m gonna run a WR screen my thoughts would be to run it with aj as he’s really physical and likely breaking 1 tackle or getting positive yards on it at minimum.

Only if they sit their players the last game 🙂 And the Giant killer doesn't play.

Regardless what our seeding ends up being, it’d be great if we’re locked in before the final game so no one important has to play on the MetLife Stadium turf for a second time this year.

It'll be great when they can finally get it together but when will that happen?

Ho hum, another win where we didn’t put it together. When oh when will we play well?

Just win baby!

I’ve had this weird, unexplainable feeling for a couple weeks that it was going to finally happen vs Buffalo. I think in part because Josh Allen can be turnover prone himself, and we seem due for a game where the defense gets 3+ and the offense responds.

This attitude is hilarious to me

Crazy stat for a running QB who can't throw 🤣

Yeah I think the secondary is coming together. These guys are past their primes but in concert they can still be good.  Just need to time to gel.  And they are vets and Allen is prone to mistakes.

I’m good with automatic first downs. Eli Ricks needs to stop panicking and grabbing players for absolutely no reason.

That was a very weak call. There were a couple of gross PI calls that should have been made on throws to Brown but weren't. In fairness, the PI that was called on Ricks was by a different official than the one who made no calls when Brown was interfered with. Variance even within a single crew.

It would be nice if Jason/Stoutland could call good protections more often. They got a ton of free-rushers and we were routinely snapping at 1-2 seconds left, so the Chiefs' defenders could time the snap.

The good news is that we only have one more road game the rest of the year with this level of crowd noise (Seattle) and we don't face any power-rushers like Chris Jones. We handle speed-rushers better (Parsons, Bosa, Donald).

Why? The team shows resiliency week in and week out and they have just gotten it done. Zero panic, heck Hurts looks like he could nap when he is chilling on the bench.

This team just wins

Our offensive personnel is better than their defensive personnel, by a sizable margin. We got outcoached, even Stout’s group looked confused. It’s a good group because Spags is maximizing their talents. In the SB, we didn’t carve up the Chiefs because we outcoached them. We just had too many good skill players, and that overwhelmed them. I suspect that would happen again.

Outcoached for a half.

Spags knew what the Eagles were going to check to and had a counter for everything. Eagles just had more talent and it showed.

I think a team can only win so many consecutive chaotic coin flip could go either way type games.

Absolutely nothing wrong with beating the Chiefs in Arrowhead like that.  But no one is going to feel good about going down to the wire against the Giants and Cardinals when there is no margin for error for HFA.

How very Philadelphian: to feel the doom before the fact.

Yeah…sounds great, but unfortunately playoff games count too…more, really.

It’s like when the media kept saying Brock Purdy was undefeated as a starter until the 49ers lost to Cleveland this year.  I’m fairly certain he started the NFCC Game last season

Yeah, but the asterisk (49ers deserved to win if not for the injuries) supersedes the statistics.

Where did I say I expected doom?  It's just you being hypersensitive.

That's a tough comparison.   There were some greats to be used to pull.   Back in the day, Guy McIntyre was absolutely a stud pulling... (not great at all the other things though, so not in the HOF).   Dermonti Dawson was great from the center position as well.  Jerry Kramer gets a shout out, because without him, the Packers' sweep isn't what it was.  And you can't have this conversation without mentioning John Hannah.   If you want to have fun.  Just watch some Hannah highlights.   He didn't just pull... he pulled and punished people.

No doubt that Kelce is a central figure in the conversation though.

I wouldn't call that resiliency. All of those dropped passes would have kept drives going. Brian is still calling extremely stupid plays too

They'll brush off the negatives until a loss comes. It's a funny cycle they do lol

When i went back and rewatched the game 5 things stood out to me about the offense:

1. Oline wasn’t good in the first half. That might have been the worst pass blocking half that unit has played since 2020. Some of it was plays were taking longer to develop so had to hold up longer. Some of it was just poor play. I want to watch the all 22 cause i want to see what kind of routes the WRs were running. With how the elements were it felt like the eagles should’ve with quick passing game of 3-7 yard routes until the rain and wind died down a little.

2. the eagles having only two reliable pass catchers with goedert out is gonna be an issue. Smith played well yesterday and took advantage of the situation but Aj brown was MIA. Besides the int throw, the KC did a good job taking him out of the game. I think teams will commit to stopping Aj and making someone else beat them in the passing game. As good as smith is, i think teams until goedert gets back and can open up the middle of the field teams are going to dare hurts and the offense to beat them throwing to to everyone else not named AJ. Now most teams don’t have the personnel the chiefs do to that as a well as the chiefs did.

3. i don’t care who you want to blame: sirianni, Johnson or gainwell but after they got sacked on 1st down close to the end of the half they should’ve just ran on second down to burn KC’s timeout then ran again on 3rd to punt it back to the chiefs where they had maybe 13-15 seconds. Instead we basically gave them 3 points with poor IQ by gainwell to go out and not understand the situation of a really good defense and 2nd and 19 the likelihood of getting a first down and let alone points was likely done. So go into halftime and adjust down just one score instead of it being 10. Or with no timeouts and like 13-15 seconds make it harder for them to get the field goal

4. Don’t know how many of the WR screens were called and how many were checked into but we ran way too many and most of the time were ineffective. Frankly if we are gonna run them that many times, I’m confused on why AJ our best and most physical WR is not getting at least 1-2 of them. His physicality and size makes it that even if we get bad blocks he still likely is able to get you positive yards.

5. they need to start utilizing D’Andre Swift in the passing game more. Especially with Dallas Goedert not being there. when you go back and watch his time with the Lions, his best attribute for that team was pass catching. When he got into space there was a chance he got chunks of yards and even touchdowns because of how dynamic he is as a pass catcher. If we’re going to run screens, I’d rather run a running back screen to him (grant our blocking has to be better on them). Because if you get good blocks and he gets in the open field, there’s a chance he’s going for a TD or a big play. Go back and watch the Lions and Eagles game for week one last year. shows you everything you need to know about getting him the ball in the passing game. he had three receptions last night and still think he was under utilize in that aspect.

** on another note, I think spags was really good in the first half. He was outcoaching sirianni and Johnson. He was dialing up stuff that really frustrated the oline and our passing game. I think eventually the eagles talent and propensity to have big plays got KC. Eagles in their last 3 possessions (not including kneel down) had 3 plays of over 20 yards and 2 over 30 yards. I think the talent the eagles have it’s asking a lot of a defense to not give up those type of plays all game. If you can limit them to 2-3 then you have a shot.

** also best play call in that game was the sweep to swift. That was super creative and swift crushed it.
