Yes, Hurts didn't design a new play at the line.  All week they gameplan for certain situations and tell him to check to certain calls in certain situations.  Great recognition by Hurts but the coaches absolutely deserve credit too there

I clearly saw him scribbling something in the turf pre-snap.

Covey looked good last night...

He's been good all year. And he was above average last year. Some fans are just slow to accept the obvious when it goes against their hastily made evaluations of players.

My recollection of Covey last year was he didn't field several punts he should have, but again, I only watched a small sample size of the entire years body of work. He just looks a ton better this year to me.

That KC returner, Toney, is a freaking beast. Absolutely fantastic that our STs outperformed theirs. I look forward to your breakdown. I like the adjustment of dropping a blocker down the middle of the field who can pick which gunner to help on. Nice.

I didn't say it was an anomaly last night and I didn't say they were terrible. Do you have a reading comprehension problem?

So you're going with the a-hole approach. Got it. Have a nice day

You whined about bozo, acted like it was a one off and that is why we won so yeah you should be called out on it.

Week in and week out you whine about something, always whining yet this team is the best team in the league once again.

I can't remember a previous Thanksgiving where all three games were this important to the Eagles. May have to demand that we eat at 10 am and then everybody is out of the house by noon. Or, may have to simply disappear until midnight and deal with the consequences later on.

I'll be shocked (and grateful) if even one of the games goes our way. I'm fully expecting a whitewash.

He was not an asset at PR at the beginning of 2022, which lead to the aforementioned hastily made evaluations.  He has been a real weapon back there over the last 20 or so games.

He was doing OK since the 2nd half of last year - of course, he was getting wrecked all the time (so I was constantly worried he’d cough up the ball). He’s doing great now, and looks like he might survive the season intact.

I was picturing this in my mind when I saw that comment a few minutes ago. LOL. like kids drawing up plays in the dirt...good times.

You must have me confused with someone else unless you can provide proof. Otherwise please put me on ignore

When you are competing for the #1 seed, the teams we root against as competition tend to be really good.  So we will usually end up being disappointed.

LOL...I am a Cowboys fan...I've met plenty. If you met me you would at least be able to put up with me. Hell, I got kicked out of the SF/Cowboy playoff game early in the 4th qtr year before last at AT&T because fans behind us (me, my brother and my son) wanted us to sit down...we were trying to get everyone to stand up and cheer during that a$$ whipping...SF fan starts cussing us out, we got tossed...stand your a$$ up and get into the game man...those are the Cowboys fans I can't stand.

I'm sorry, but fans who stand during the game and block the view of people behind them are pretty much the lowest of the low. It is exceptionally inconsiderate.

I'm not saying you shouldn't stand AT ALL, but it should be an occasional thing not a constant thing.

Jet sweep to swift might have been the best play call and most creative call of the entire night by Johnson

The Texas Mesh was right up there.

In an ideal world, Brittain Covey would be able to contribute on offense too. He's becoming a real threat at PR but if they insist on WR screens, his skillset seems to be a good fit for that.

Covey got destroyed so many times it deadened his emotions and he now fears no earthly mortal.  It's made a 100% difference.

His last return he literally had 4 Chiefs staring right at him but he just ran right through them because they're mere flesh and bones and can no longer harm him.

I think he surprised them all that he even attempted it and they all just watched him go by

My personal experience, and this is purely anecdotal, is that cowboys fans from Philadelphia (like born and raised) tend to be antagonistic in general and likely (again, IMO) why they chose our division rival.  To be different, to talk smack, etc.  During my short stints in Dallas, those fans are more or less normal, decent people.  "This is my home team so that's why I root for them", is my experience.

San Fran fans are the opposite from what I've seen.  F'n Thugs if they are from Cali, but ones from the east coast are decent.

Why someone from Philly and roots for the Phils, Sixers, Flyers would pick the Dolphins is one I'm stilly trying to crack.

Disagree about early 2022. The Eagles opponents at the beginning of the year were consistently hitting devastating punts with enormous hangtimes. (I have the data but I'm too lazy to look it up.) The fact that he wasn't getting notable returns was not because of a deficiency in his play, but rather because he simply had almost no room to do anything. It wasn't until the second half of the year that other teams punters returned to normalcy.

There was a series of redzone possessions right in the corner of the endzone where we were sitting, it's a playoff game, every possession was important, we weren't just standing to be A$$hats and didn't stand the whole time. That wasn't really the issue, it's when the guys started dropping F bombs at us.

Semper Fi

So, we beat the Chiefs on my mother's birthday. Will we beat them again on my father's birthday in Vegas on February 11th?

Went back and watched the final play the 4th and 25 and the Eagles alignments on that were awful. Fortunate that pass was dropped. Half the DBs played back too far and the other too short. Basically giving them a little pocket to sit down in right at the marker. We really need to bring the sticks defense back for 3rd/4th and longs.

I always thought this was the norm really, but things have changed over the years I guess. How someone develops a following for a team across the country from where they grew up makes zero sense to me, I mean if you are a true fan, how did that fanatacism develop? To each their own I guess. Maybe free agency has something to do with it, idk.

Seems our ST coordinator is actually bringing something to the table.

I noticed there was a guy back there near when the ball was caught, but didn't realize where he was coming from.   I suppose this is a way to 'cheat' a little to get a double team on either gunner... without actually devoting 4 guys to get it done.
