He's not going to be claimed with that contract.

Nothing is guaranteed after this year. But $6M is a lot for 7 games. Cowboys would make sense, but not sure if they take on that price.

Not sure if he's retiring, just saying thanks, or is being released. If the latter, Howie should get on that.

I don't see anything about him getting released.  It would be an odd decision to release him past the trade deadline.  He has been unhappy about his playing time and the defensive scheme.  That doesn't sound like someone who is retiring.  Howie should be talking to him today.

I thought vets with more than 4 accrued seasons are not subject to waivers if they are released.

San Francisco fans have Purdy in the mix after his last two games ... a 149+ rating game and a perfect 158 rating game.  I personally don't buy it, but they certainly do.

I'll take bad at this point.

F it.  Mariota for Leonard straight up.

"This guy has been angry in recent weeks, angry and frustrated and even heartbroken – his words, not mine – with the way the Colts have (not) been using him this season.

Shaquille Leonard insists he’s ready for more snaps, more of a role. That’s what he’s been saying for two weeks, when he’s not darting out of the locker room before the media can assemble around him."

This was right before the Patriots game. Shame about his contract.

He missed most of 2022 because of an injury.  I think part of the problem this season is that his role has changed.

After the trade deadline everyone is subject to waivers regardless if its Jason Peters.

Howie should claim, and re-structure.

Only owed about 6M for this year. Bring some of that money forward, push some to future years, and void years.

The Eagles have 3.3m left for the year. It's kind of early to use any of that right? Wouldn't you save it in case of an injury or a pick up right before playoffs if needed?

The bears will claim him probably lol.

Am I the only one that thinks Irsay released him just so he could raise a glass in his memory?

Eagles don't even have enough cap space to put in a claim, and they would have to absorb his current contract before restructuring. Only about half the league can afford it. 49ers ($40M), Browns ($35M), Cowboys ($11M), Seahawks ($8M) are the only teams with the space in the hunt for the post season.

He has the agility of a motor boat. His back injury sapped him.

Probably so. It's 2PM, he likely already raised 6.

Chiefs are absolutely better IMO especially on the defensive side of the ball. Their WRs are about as talented as they were last year. Not very. Mahomes is still the best in the league.

I think the Bienemy->Nagy conversion has been a noticeable letdown, but I agree their D has stepped it up

That would eat up all the Cowboys remaining cap...nothing left for an emergency going into post-season...I wouldn't do it...OTC shows they only have 6.6 effective cap space.

I thought Reid called the plays last year hence why Bieniemy had to make his own way to Washington where he's the undisputed play caller.

Well, the Eagles just need to go 1-6 the rest of the way and I will nail my preseason prediction of 10-7

I was using Spotrac, so not sure what the disagreement is. They could restructure him and kick most of it into next year so not to use all of their space, but it's probably not likely. It would be paying for name value at that price.

Nobody is putting in a claim for him. He's going to be an Eagle :) Siri and Shane connection.
