they went from a bad defense to a bad defense who didnt know what its assignments were. So got even worse.

I dont know that we eek this win out though because today offense seemed like the bigger issue. D today played at Desai level. Not patricia level of suck.

To be fair, we didn’t know our assignments under Desai either. We just hoped it was because of the new LBs and the revolving door at DB.

I actually feel bad for Siri.  In another reality, he could be a Mike Tomlin type coach.

But he should be fired.  He will be fired.  And when he is fired…we literally learned that he can’t call the plays and be an OC.  Not only will he not get HC jobs, he won’t get OC jobs.  An offensive minded coach that already does that who shares his coaching tree might give him a shot as OC…but I’m not sure that fits anyone anymore.

Bad coaching.
Old players.
Soft players.
Old, soft players.

With people like B Johnson, Slowik, Harbaugh, Vrabel, etc. available in this coaching cycle, sticking with Nick will set this team back immensely.

I think the defense looked the same all season, I just think teams caught on and exploited us. The offense puttered and became predictable as well.

nope. theres a significant difference, statistically in the defense after the change to Patricia. There was a tweet that showed the last games with patricia vs the rest of the season with Desai. You could also see various plays pointing out all of the assignment busts once Patricia came in. It got a lot worse with him.

Till tonight. It looked not quite as bad.

Probably yea

He’ll be back cause howie refuses to just part ways

Patricia was in an impossible situation. The only thing he could have done was try to focus on fundamentals and improve that

It's not like he could have run the same stuff Desai did.  But he couldn't change the scheme either.  So he was stuck with just making arbitrary changes.  It was just a dumb, futile move.

I wonder if Nick can hear chiefs fans now.

Not sure

But he's about to get the tomahawk chop

not only new LBs but revolving door there all year too, as well as the back 7.

That may have had something to do with it.

But Patricia came in and started using some guys differently. They said it was still Desai's defense but you saw some different things. It couldnt have helped guys be any less confused.

Not sure but its not like Desai was exactly killing it. The D was going backwards, particularly with the inability to get stops on 3rd down and in red zone.

What we know for sure is that the change to Patricia definitely did not work at all

They’ve got to rip off the Graham band aid.  He’ll play until he’s 50 if they let him.

Anyone wanting AJ gone needs to have their head checked he made 2nd team all pro with this fboy coaching staff

Don’t want him gone. But does he want to be here is the question?

The defense may have hated Patricia because most players have hated Patricia.  They likely hated the switch to Patricia because they had to learn and do something new.

But there was lots of chatter about Desai losing the confidence of his players.  Lots.

He was likely toast no matter what, but at least he could have called a scaled down version of his own overly complicated defense (which was a big reason that the players lost confidence in him), but asking a bad DC to run another DC’s defense had a low probability of success.

No.  I don't think they make it past the 49ers but it doesn't end this way.  It reminded me when Andy in his final season fired Jauan and the defense and rest of the team subsequently completely give up on the season.

Kelce declined the locker room interview.

It’s 12:04 and no longer a holiday.  WTF is taking Lurie so long!

I’d let him and Cox walk. It’s time.

He is if he turns into TO.

I don't think that happens, he is not TO. These guys put everything into the season mentally, physically...they sacrifice, players of that caliber anyway, everything to be the best at their position. Things got rocky, things got tough this year for a lot of them. They were coming off of a SB loss, they felt they had what it took to get back and win it. They were 10-1...it takes a lot out of them.

I am not making excuses for him, if his knee wasn't right, and he faced a potential more serious injury then he protected his future as well as the teams future for next year. Guys like him want to play...I don't think he laid down and is a bad teammate.

IDK...maybe O am wrong, but I am giving those kind of athletes the benefit of the doubt.

Of course they’ll have him. He’s still a decent rotational piece.
