He’s playing well enough as a rotational piece…and we can’t afford to allocate $5m to that.  He’ll be freaking 36 and likely won’t be playing well enough at that point.

Maybe he takes a lower amount? $2million?

Lane on Kelce retiring "he's hinted at it" but he will have to make that decision.

Any day now they'll play up to "the standard."

The standard of what? Losing? Sucking?

BG and Cox are still playing well!

BG is a part-time rotational player and still making plays.  Cox is still playing at a high enough level.

I’d rather be a year early than a year too late. We have decent depth at DT. Save the money. Graham was OK depth, but he’s really old.

He was bad today.

Not this specifically regarding his entire night, but the Illegal downfield call...the RPO scheme puts OL in a bad spot if the read is to slow or delayed...see it all the time here in TX because all the HS teams here run RPO and it gets called several times a game...I realize it's HS, but the RPO itself creates too many of those penalties.

I think if you designate BG as a post-June cut, you save $1.5M… you aren’t going to find a replacement depth player that cheap.

Late round picks are that cheap.

This team was not right all season. There was no improvement anywhere. Totally out of sync on so many layers. That’s a coaching issue and lucky wins covered it up until the SF beatdown.
Hurts isn’t that special QB either. He is not a game changer IMO. He needs help and with coaching being this bad, it made him look even worse. His running is overrated - he’s not L. Jackson or even close to that.

i think Sirianni has to be held accountable for this crapshow. He is not the answer going forward. With how this team crashed and burned, you can’t go into next year with the same leaders.

Smith set the franchise playoff record for receiving yards with his 148.

This is the most embarrassing collapse of all time in any sport arguably

the Jags collapsed worse this year.

Too late to look for hemmoroids when the toilet paper is bloody

I agree... but, this team was 15-2 with this coach and starting QB last year, with one loss being the Super Bowl... and 2 playoff wins.  And then started 10-1 this year.  That's 25 - 3 with this QB and HC together.  That's crazy historic... just as historic as this collapse.... going 1-6 in the last 7 games.

Yea I see the point, I really do but if these players are out on Sirianni then he’s as good as gone. Even new coordinators cannot change that. And Lurie has spoken with players well before this game, I think this game was just the nail in the coffin. You saw it on the field.

Keeping him as a part-time rotational backup - which he essentially has been this year - is good.  He's out there playing with heart and not making mistakes.

They need a starting full-time quality DE to start opposite Sweat, and BG in limited snaps makes plays rotating in.

Reddick is that guy though. I know they list him at LB but he's really the edge guy opposite Sweat. DL goes Sweat, Carter, Davis, Reddick. I'm thinking Sweat is the one to be replaced. I really like him but he dropped off this year and will be up for a major extension. Very tricky spot.

You know, I haven't mentioned that here at all because I didn't want to piss anyone off...I've just never seen a HC act like that and it immediately turned me off of him. I get it he's from the younger generation of coaches and they are more outspoken and far less reserved, I am just to old school for that type of stuff personally. I look at the HC to be stoic, person of few words, but when they speak the words are powerful and meaningful.

I’m late 50s and Sirianni is a breath of fresh air.  He acts similar to Harbaugh, except Nick is a high character guy, where Harbaugh is a scumbag.

McVay is also quite demonstrative in personality.

fully agree on Cox. Hes too expensive to risk continuing to pay and DT has a bit more depth. DE needs bodies, and Graham is still an effective one at that. And comes cheaper than Cox does. Its an easy yes to Graham asking to come back. Cox... I'd pass.

Late round picks typically aren’t as good as BG on limited snaps, nor will they be leaders in the locker room.

Patricia was in an impossible situation. The only thing he could have done was try to focus on fundamentals and improve that

It's not like he could have run the same stuff Desai did.  But he couldn't change the scheme either.  So he was stuck with just making arbitrary changes.  It was just a dumb, futile move.

Play high school coverages then. Patricia tried to put a square peg through a round hole though a triangle hole

They lost their QB lol. We started 10-1 after a Super Bowl and won 1 more game for the season.

Today… again the least of their problems. Everyone but Smitty was bad today.

Nah.  He was part of their problems offensively today.  The penalties were part of why they couldn't sustain things offensively.
