Today… again the least of their problems. Everyone but Smitty was bad today.

Nolan Smith actually flashed a little.

Play high school coverages then. Patricia tried to put a square peg through a round hole though a triangle hole

Triangle holes are my favorite

I’d rather be a year early than a year too late. We have decent depth at DT. Save the money. Graham was OK depth, but he’s really old.

I get that, but they have exactly 1 DE on the roster!  And Sweat had a bit of the injury bug.

I wanted them to draft a DE in the last couple seasons to groom.  If you let BG go (if he retires nothing you can do about that) then you have 1 DE on the roster.  You have to add at least 2 Defensive Ends in free agency and draft and get some depth.

I don't know if they'll pay Cox again.  They need an overhaul of the roster on defense and already have Carter, Davis and Williams plus Ojomo and Tuipulotu.  But only 1 DE.

Hurts isn’t that special QB either. He is not a game changer IMO. He needs help and with coaching being this bad, it made him look even worse. His running is overrated - he’s not L. Jackson or even close to that.

Jalen Hurts is Brock Purdy.

When he’s on a minuscule contract, surrounded by the most stacked team in the nfl, the coaching staff is a well oiled machine that’s firing on all cylinders, and he’s playing with confidence…he’s an mvp candidate on a SB run.

When the surrounding talent dips on a big contract, the coaching fluctuates…he’s dependent, inconsistent, not special, turns it over, etc.

That probably describes your typical long term starting qb in this league before they got their big contract.

He’s playing well enough as a rotational piece…and we can’t afford to allocate $5m to that.  He’ll be freaking 36 and likely won’t be playing well enough at that point.

I want Cox back but he will probably cost what, 7, 8 mil? Not sure we can afford that. They need to add youth and quality in that back 7.

Wish the Eagles could move on from Hurts A LOT sooner than 2026.  His contract is already an albatross and it hasn’t even kicked in yet.

Not this specifically regarding his entire night, but the Illegal downfield call...the RPO scheme puts OL in a bad spot if the read is to slow or delayed...see it all the time here in TX because all the HS teams here run RPO and it gets called several times a game...I realize it's HS, but the RPO itself creates too many of those penalties.

Agreed... but, that's the scheme they run, rightly or wrongly, and you need to know how to handle that grey area.

You're fired.

Siri PC over. Hurts up next. This will be riveting I am sure.

Nah.  He was part of their problems offensively today.  The penalties were part of why they couldn't sustain things offensively.

Again he was PART of the problem today. But no one but Smitty decided to show up on offense.

I’m late 50s and Sirianni is a breath of fresh air.  He acts similar to Harbaugh, except Nick is a high character guy, where Harbaugh is a scumbag.

McVay is also quite demonstrative in personality.

Funny you mention Harbaugh, I was going to compare the two but I didn't because I absolutely despise Harbaugh...he's a POS, I think his brother is great. I didn't compare them because I understand it's a generational thing and Siri isn't a POS. He's just not my style of coach from a personality perspective.

If those numbers don’t get you fired I don’t know what does.

That’s how it felt watching them out there. Said in the second quarter it was one team that wanted to win it and another that just had to be there

Reddick is that guy though. I know they list him at LB but he's really the edge guy opposite Sweat. DL goes Sweat, Carter, Davis, Reddick. I'm thinking Sweat is the one to be replaced. I really like him but he dropped off this year and will be up for a major extension. Very tricky spot.

Depends on the new DC (hopefully there is one from outside).  Reddick is a pass rush specialist but doesn't set the edge for the run.  They can't afford to replace Sweat, he's the only DE apart from BG who people now want to get rid of.  They need to keep Sweat and add another DE across from him.  Reddick did fine last year next to White and Edwards, if they upgrade LB again to at least get competent guys and a DE across from Sweat then Reddick might be back in business.

Starts with him, all season he’s said the same thing and made zero schematic changes.

Curls, Verts, WR Screen, Inside Zone, QB read. RPO to AJ Slant, lack of desire to running the football consistently. Once again we had 5 Carries at half time, 4 to Swift and 1 to Gainwell. He doesn’t learn from his mistakes.

Yea I see the point, I really do but if these players are out on Sirianni then he’s as good as gone. Even new coordinators cannot change that. And Lurie has spoken with players well before this game, I think this game was just the nail in the coffin. You saw it on the field.

Agreed.  But, that's what's making it even a question, otherwise the answer would be extremely clear cut.  That said, I still think its clear that he's gone.  Hopefully Lurie doesn't wait an extra eek to do it like he did Doug and put this team another week behind the rest of the league.

Gonna start doing some draft eligible prospects study tomorrow, so everyone can know the best prospects Howie will never draft 😅

Who wants to buy a bunch of trash? I have loads of it in the form of Eagles merchandise just sitting around lol

I was going to freebase some melatonin but that might do the trick.

Kind of stating the obvious.

Hurts will be given 2024 to get back on the horse and if it doesn’t go well with a competent experienced OC, then Howie will find a way just like he did with Wentz. This league is a what have you done for me lately.

The team quit on Siriani weeks ago.

I don’t understand why we would retain anyone over 26 on defense unless there are cap restrictions on doing so.

The defense literally cannot get worse.  Why pay any veterans anything if you don’t have to?

The secondary was better when we had Jobe and Ricks starting with Blankenship than when Byard, Maddox, and Slay were all back in the lineup.

Any defensive players not on a rookie contract that can be unloaded (to help cap) should be.  Again…it absolutely cannot get worse.
