Graham is a FA.

Good to know, OTC has a confusing take on that.

I liked Denico Autry at the trade deadline, he’s a base end I’d prefer as a veteran depth signing - but BG would likely come cheaper.

Wish the Eagles could move on from Hurts A LOT sooner than 2026.  His contract is already an albatross and it hasn’t even kicked in yet.

He's not going anywhere anytime soon. Better hope a new coordinator can actually teach this guy and help him rather than what he has now. Not like Hurts was finished product this year, he's still growing and learning. Oh yeah, and maybe actually using the running backs to run the ball can also be a part of the offense which probably helps the entire team.

Starts with him, all season he’s said the same thing and made zero schematic changes.

Curls, Verts, WR Screen, Inside Zone, QB read. RPO to AJ Slant, lack of desire to running the football consistently. Once again we had 5 Carries at half time, 4 to Swift and 1 to Gainwell. He doesn’t learn from his mistakes.

It’s just sad how fans can see things that they can’t. We’re at home on the coach while he’s on the field.

Hey guys, "tackling is a tricky thing" according to be our soon to be former HC

Nah.  He was part of their problems offensively today.  The penalties were part of why they couldn't sustain things offensively.

BS they couldn’t sustain because their system is awful and they try to throw WR screens more than running your pro bowl running back. They combat the blitz with Hail Mary and Curl routes instead of mesh and crossers and options. Going into half we throw a ball to run out the clock. On 3rd and medium we throw the ball 20 yards down the field or 1 yard behind the LoS. We didn’t run the damn ball. We didn’t have timing routes against the blitz, and Hurts locked into 1 WR too often.

Nolan Smith actually flashed a little.

Get him off the edge what a revelation!! Oh, and by the way, use Redick the same. My lord this coaching staff was horrible

I don’t understand why we would retain anyone over 26 on defense unless there are cap restrictions on doing so.

The defense literally cannot get worse.  Why pay any veterans anything if you don’t have to?

The secondary was better when we had Jobe and Ricks starting with Blankenship than when Byard, Maddox, and Slay were all back in the lineup.

Any defensive players not on a rookie contract that can be unloaded (to help cap) should be.  Again…it absolutely cannot get worse.

It really can’t. TB scored on what their first 4 drives? It should have been 28-3 but drops saved them that embarrassment.

Is it though? Wrap up and take the guy to the ground. That’s what you are paid to do.

Smith needs to add some lbs in the offseason.

Again he was PART of the problem today. But no one but Smitty decided to show up on offense.

That’s not true.  Cam showed up early a few times.

Everything you said is correct.  And the penalties hurt them in addition to those things.   Two things can be true at the same time.   The scheme was awful.  The effort was low.  There was no urgency.   And, the penalties hurt things as well.    All contributed to the crap fest we saw.

I didnt see low effort at all tonight. The team just stinks.

Graham and Sweat each had their best game in quite a while. Milton Williams finally flashed again. Cunningham actually got in the way of a few passes down field tonight.

The offense certainly tried. Swift started hot but coaches kept him from getting in to a rhythm. Smith showed up and set a franchise record while his QB was throwing fade away and no look passes because he was scared of the blitz.

Guys played hard. Other guys just stunk. Byard is beyond washed. Bradberry stunk. Maddox was lost. Jurgens was overpowered by Via.

Goedert got fired up on the sideline.

I saw no one lacking effort.

Hurts is a worker.  Wentz was too (despite the character assassination after he left).  But Wentz was even more prone to letting his drive and frustration get to him, which led to a quick divorce.

Hurts will probably be marginally better in 2024.  He’ll start in 2025.  But when the big cap hits kick in and he has to be surrounded by even less talent, that’s when the years will go by wasted and he’ll get more and more exposed.

i don’t know when they’ll come to that realization, but it could take another 3 years.

Whatever you do do not draft anymore Bulldogs. None of them have really worked out that well so far. Davis is fat and slow, Carter disappeared the entire second half of the year, Deans always hurt, Ringo showed flashes so maybe he’ll be alright, and Smith really didn’t get going.

I wonder if he will have Julian in the room when he fires Nick.

The team quit on Siriani weeks ago.

I’ll disagree. They didn’t quit in the Seahawks game. Didn’t quit in the Cardinals game. The defense wasn’t good at the end of the game and couldn’t get stops. Seattle the offense was lousy. After they lost to the Cardinals that’s when I think they’ve completely gave up. Could see it in the body language to start the giants game and this game

He’ll show up in a full body cast

Saw zero effort. Maybe 5%?

Smith set the franchise playoff record for receiving yards with his 148.

which is what's good about the Eagles and bad about the Eagles.

At the beginning of the year, the Eagles came up with a very short list of players they would throw the ball to.   I thought that they might pivot away from that since the best one on the list was out.  I guess not.  The list of players to throw to has been way too short all year, but the players on the list are good.

I know it's popular to hate on Hurts, but the reality is he played great last year and despite what some of you refuse to see, he did play well at times this year.  He also had some stupid, boneheaded plays and looked lost a lot.  Then the next series he'd make a huge play.  It's erratic.  There are other players who regressed, a lot of them did.  The coaching is the main problem.  You have a big contract to Hurts and it's very hard to replace and find a new QB.  There is a lot of talent on the offensive roster.

The best course is to get a new coaching staff - at minimum new OC if they don't fire Siri - and rebuild the offense around the team's strengths.  Don't waste the opportunity of a strong O line and 3 great receiving talents in Brown, Smith and Goedert.  They need to learn from 2022 and get a good offensive mind in here to run things.

Then you can see how Hurts does under proper coaching.

Agreed.  But, that's what's making it even a question, otherwise the answer would be extremely clear cut.  That said, I still think its clear that he's gone.  Hopefully Lurie doesn't wait an extra eek to do it like he did Doug and put this team another week behind the rest of the league.

Yea I think the failure that this season was with such high expectations, we can’t afford to try or to go with inexperienced coaches/coordinators.
