Totally agree with Peyton there and if AJ runs the designed route he might take it to the house anyway.  In a spot like that, tight knit game where the OL wasnt pass blocking well, you can't hang your QB out to dry like that.

But I loved Hurts' reaction to AJs little fit on the sideline.  You could tell he was saying the exact same thing, like bro this isn't sandlot football right now.

Were we lucky on the two missed catches towards the end of the game?  Maybe/Maybe not. The fact is that the Chiefs WR’s have the most dropped passes out of all NFL teams.  How much is that luck vs what could be expected?

No maybe about it. We were lucky with those drops. It’s not like Desai schemed for these guys to be open and banked on them dropping passes.

One of the better IOL in the league and I'm sure they didn't care if Pacheco got his and celebrated after every 4 yard run if it meant keeping Kelce and Mahomes in check.

Facts... he's really not that guy. Got a couple of decent runs on some nice designs by Reid to take advantage of over pursuing DEs. He's not naturally a cut back runner.

Not luck. KC literally can't catch. That's their MO. It would have been more lucky if KC caught everything. Think about that. Especially in the rain. It was clearly a calculated move to take away Kelce as much as possible and make the other guys prove they wouldn't put the ball on the ground. Guess what they did.

Ok…

There are a couple crazy schedules this year.  You guys getting the Giants twice in the last three weeks, the Lions getting the Vikings twice in the last three weeks...not a fan of that format, trying to figure out the reasoning...anyone know?

Yep. It´s done deliberately to annoy fans of the Dallas Cowboys

There's an element of truth in what you say, but even so, 26 dropped catches for KC this year? That's abysmal by a WR corp that should never be that bad.

Yeh, I am 30 minutes east of downtown Dallas, grew up here, used to be farm country but we are getting covered up with developments. I've been through Philadelphia for work a few times, used to spend a lot of time in New Cumberland/Mechanicsburg. I love the country side between Virginia and Harrisburg along 83.

As far as fans here go, it's hit or miss. I bleed blue, just like you guys bleed green, always been that way. At the same time I consider myself to be an objectionable fan of the game and there a lot of folks down here like that because football is just everything down here from the time you can walk/run...Some fans are over the top, most of those types never played organized ball and just don't get it...they are the talkers.

I follow all levels from HS through Pros, and if there is a stud RB, QB, WR in a local junior high I will check them out given the opportunity.

I coached ages 8 - 12 for several years when my boys were younger. I don't do it anymore, but it was fun teaching 3rd &4th graders the spread and throwing the ball 50% of the time...our kids could run and catch, the kids we were playing were lucky to get lined up properly...lol.

Do I hate the Eagles? Nah, I dislike them when they play the Cowboys though...😂. I have a way I follow teams of any sport.

  1. Teams I am a fan of, if they are out of the playoffs then
  2. Teams in the same district/conference as "my" teams, if they are out of the playoffs then
  3. a) Teams in Texas OR b) Underdogs & Teams that have never won a title, I typically lean to the underdogs, I love a good David beats Goliath game.

OK, having said all that I cannot stand the 49'ers, and if they are in the SB I will root for the AFC...if it's the Eagles? I will pull for you guys. Weird huh?

Sorry for the long post, really I could have just said I appreciate good football...but now you guys have something to give me a hard time about.

Mesquite? (US 80) or Rose Hill (I 30)? Wife has family in Wylie.  I am in East Texas at least four times a year.  Growing up in Houston as an Oilers fan, hate for your team is in my DNA.  When I moved to the east Coast, it was natural for me to live in PA, where football is almost as much revered as in Texas and becoming a Birds fan when the turncoat Bud Adams stole the Oilers away to TN was pretty much a given as they feel about your team pretty much the same way.  (We probably hate the giants as much as you do.)

I don’t disagree that they are bad. They’re still going to catch passes more often than not and they dropped them in high leverage situations.

In the rain? The Eagles took the right risk. Live with Rice, Scantwhatever, and whoever the 84 dude that was dropping everything beat you instead of Kelce. When Mecole went down they had absolutely no viable threats at all outside of Kelce. They are literally worse than Thrash, Pinkston, Era. Pinkston would have caught that bomb though lol. Thank you Reid for once again not caring about WRs.

Yeah we lucked out with that MVS drop and probably won't luck out the same way if similar circumstances fall in another potential SB meet. But point being? They Fed up with Tyreek.

Is it really luck when MVS is trash?

Further out than Rose Hill in Garland but yeh off I-30, I’m across the lake in Rockwall county…smallest county in the state, perfectly square 10 miles x 10 miles.

The Oilers leaving Texas sucked, that’s why I can’t get behind watching the Texans really, although it’s been pretty cool following what they have going on with this rebuild.

He's a pro player and that delivery was close to perfect. In a championship game with everything on the line, he wouldn't drop that again in similar circumstances. At least that's my bet.

But it is, ultimately, a game of statistical efficiency at all positions with some carrying a greater weight for overall success than others.  he Chiefs are being talked about like Andy's Eagles with McNabb. If only they had better receivers... If only the receiver's didn't drop the ball... It's not luck that the Eagles won because of some key drops. Its the statistics of lesser talented receivers and that Reid values or undervalues the position this way. The Eagles are the better team and this is in part because Roseman places high values on the receiver position. If the Chiefs had DeVonta Smith, they probably win the game.

It was perfect. MVS gave a Watkins esque attempt by diving for no reason and not extending his arms

I mean, I'm not really disagreeing. My post earlier did mention their F up with Tyreek and ensuing loss of form and results in general.

That's what people are failing to understand. You play the averages. On that particular play they had Kelce practically triple teamed and dared them to throw to someone else. They did and we got the results that we were looking for. Drrrrrroooopppp. They wouldn't pull that ish if they had an actual star WR out there. ie When they play San Fran we won't be seeing Kittle triple covered and daring Purdy to throw to Aiyuk and Deebo. KC WRs have earned no respect and they are treated as such.

Yeah overall that was the game plan but there's a zero percent chance they decided to risk a go ahead wide open bomb with less than 2 min to go.

I think it was Ricks and he got caught flat footed and got roasted.

I think if the choice was take away kelce and make their wrs beat us, we made the right choice. Yup, we got away with that decision because their receivers were bad, but i think that was a better decision than hoping kelce couldn't beat man coverage.

Somewhat.  The point was that Chiefs’ receivers have the most drops in the NFL - meaning that those passes weren’t "givens”.
