Top part i agree on. However if the lions get the 1 seed they get a bye and they are likely gonna face dallas in the divisional round. As i don’t see eagles or niners losing as the 2 and 3 seeds. So good chance Dallas beats the lions but you are going through niners and Dallas to get to a SB and playing an extra game on top of it. If the lions are 2 or 3 seed and they lose then you are getting that Vikings/Seahawks in the divisional round whereas it’s likely niners vs. cowboys in the divisional.

We are going in circles... and not really disagreeing.   My ONLY point was that if the Eagles lost out on the 1 seed to Detroit and the Eagles got the 2, they'd still be hosting the NFC CG.  That's ALL I was saying, nothing more nothing less.

Any chance Dallas gets upset?

its possible bc its division game. Last year in Howell's first start they upset the cowboys 26-6 when they still had a slim chance at the division crown.

But I don't have faith in them but hopefully they make boys sweat

Goff is a "not built for south Philly in January” quarterback.

I didn’t know Gronk could speak in complete sentences.

Is the free kick off a tee or something?

That would be a No.

definitely skipping this halftime show

This is the worst performance I’ve ever seen. Also what was that guy doing behind him? Just come on stage homie?

Yes.  That was exactly what I said.  They are a one and done playoff matchup.  There is a major chance they get 'upset' by whomever they matchup against.  They aren't that good.  They are taking advantage of a really really easy schedule.  Their SOV isn't much better than Dallas'.  They really benefitted with the timing of that week 1 matchup against KC.   If they played them now with Kelce and Jones... they lose that game.

OK. It wouldn’t end the Super Bowl hopes or chances to get there and likely host NFC title. But your route to get there is likely harder if we both believe the lions are going to get upset in the first game they play. If the lions are the 1 seed you’re gonna have to go through an extra game then the Niners then (likely) Dallas just to get to the Super Bowl.

Imo the biggest value of being the 1 seed is the lions have a good chance to be upset as the 2 or 3 see and makes the road for Dallas/niners significantly harder. To me that niners game in week 13 is massive to potentially avoiding the tougher divisional game

I would love to play Goff outdoors in an NFCCG. Hope it's extra cold too.

Thanks Jack for telling me it’s not over.

Only way this happens is if the eagles get the 1 seed and the lions upset niners in the divisional round (imo unlikely). Or if you are the 2 seed and lions are the 3 (don’t get upset)

Agreed, but completely separate from the current discussion about the Lions.

It's time for the lions to be off Thanksgiving.

Obviously cheering for us to be the 1 seed. But we should cheer for the lions to be the 2 if we get the 1. If they get upset then we’d get the 7 seed in the divisional round. But if they manage to win it means niners would be playing two consecutive games on the road.

No, it’s a running start field goal that has no pass rush. Holder just like a field goal. Its official name is a fair catch kick, announcer calling it a free kick Is a  misnomer

Yeah packers gonna blow this.

we might actually have a game on our hands.

Lol

Absolutely, but I just don't see that happening.  I see them securing the 2 seed, and then losing.

A question for you though... what your preference rankings for the divisional round:   Lions, Vikings, Seahawks or Packers?   What's your breakdown?

Of that group, I think the Vikings would be the toughest matchup, given the way Dobbs plays QB.  That's the Eagles' D's kryptonite.

HFA could set up nicely for the Eagles. Lions very beatable as the 2 seed. A divisional round Vikings matchup would be about as ideal as it could get.

Nope.  Not getting into it again, but nope, never.

Seems like a BS penalty

Exactly.   And we've now landed on the same page.

Lions still going to win this
