Been saying this for a while, the easiest path to the #1 seed is beating SF.  Lose to them, and it gets dicey......Buffalo Win, SF Win, Dallas Loss, Seattle Win, then just win 2 out of last 3 and 14-3 should do it with head to head vs. SF.

The Buffalo game is almost irrelevant, since they're in the AFC.

Detroit plays Dallas in week 17. That game could mean a lot to one, the other, or both.

It is... but losing that game means it might come down to a tiebreaker with Dallas, and then that means playing the final week against the Giants versus sitting guys.

Dallas likely does lose another one along the way, but probably to Miami.   Division record then becomes the key tiebreaker and so the Eagles would need to beat the Giants to match division record and force conference record to break the tie.  Of course, 14-3 eliminates all of that.  But 13-4 with a loss to the Giants in the last week is the issue.  That game won't be a throwaway game if the Eagles lose to the Bills.

Simple solution... win Sunday and they can basically get 2 bye weeks.

The Buffalo game is NOT irrelevant if we want the #1 seed. A loss at Buffalo means we must beat SF to be the #1 seed.

If we lose to Buffalo and SF, then the #1 seed becomes really, really hard.

I did some quick math for the #1 seed and it's pretty straight-forward.

Option 1: Lose to Buffalo & Dallas, beat SF. Win the rest.
Option 2: Lose to SF, beat Dallas/Buffalo. Win the rest.

Essentially, the only viable path to the #1 seed that doesn't require big upsets against the 49ers or Cowboys requires winning one of the two Dallas/49ers games.

Option 3, one game at a time, win out.  No reason to get close to giving up the pole position.

Dallas could easily lose more than one,  as the SoS and SoV numbers show they've been beating up bad teams all season, they've lost to the only 2 teams above .500 they've played and they've got teams with winning records for the next 5 weeks with Buffalo and Miami on the road.

I think the over under for Dallas wins at the opening of the season was 10.5 and last season they had 12, I wouldn't bet a dollar on them getting 12 this year.

If we beat SF and win our last three it doesn’t matter what anybody else does.

Basically, they can lose 2 more games if they beat SF.  If they lose to SF, that has to be the only game they lose.

But if they beat SF and their only two losses are to DAL and NYG, they’d still need help. Dallas would need to lose once, which with road games at BUF and MIA is plausible. But still, it isn’t a certainty.

Only difficult game remaining for SF is the Baltimore game which I am hoping SF does indeed end up losing.  Would like the Eagles to just beat SF and pretty much lock up the #1 seed, but tbh if SF does end up with the #1 seed the silver lining is that in the unfortunate event that the Eagles can't take care of business in the playoffs then at least SF would be the most likely team to eliminate Dallas (if Dallas gets that far).  49ers fans are whiney and annoying but in an unfortunate scenario where the Eagles go home early I'd rather see the 49ers in the Bowl than the Cowboys.  I would say Lions instead of SF but I think they are prolly gonna get booted early cause I think they're like last year's Vikings. This is all just worse case scenario stuff because obviously I want the Eagles there, but yeah, McNabb era Eagles has conditioned me to not take anything for granted (some of those NFCCG losses were our loss to the Jets level wtf losses).  Hope for the best, mentally and emotionally prepare for the worst.

Not really.  We'd have 4 losses.  Dallas or Detroit could win out and end up with three losses.

Not if we lose to BUF, DAL, and SEA. We’d still need a Dallas loss.

The #2 seed would not be the worst outcome.

We'd get a team like Seattle or Minny or Green Bay in our building.

After we win, we get Detroit and get to avoid the Cowboys in the Divisional round.

Yeah I kinda wanna avoid the Cowboys in the playoffs.  Don't want to give their fans any ammunition if the Eagles end up losing, same reason I didn't want them to advance to the NFCCG last year (even though before the game they were likely the easier matchup between them and SF), if the Eagles lost to them and stamped their ticket to the Bowl that's like a nightmare scenario right there.

You guys are thinking too much about this, y’all have the best team in the league right now. Enjoy the ride.

Hurts has beaten the last 13 teams with a winning record they’ve played. That’s impressive stuff man.

There are 7 games left in the season.  A bit premature to be saying "We need to ....", or "if this happens .... "

The Eagles are 9-1 and everyone else in the conference has at least 3 losses.  The #1 seed isn't even a discussion for any other team yet.

Win every Fing game!

Just win a bunch of games. Boom, #1 seed. What’s the point of scheduling losses?

Jack del Rio is out

Also their DB coach was fired too.

People were expecting Rivera and instead they fired the DC

Eagles having to play both the 49ers and Dallas when they come off a mini bye week is kinda messed up.

Rivera has been a placeholder since they traded Young and Sweat for picks. They were 3-5 at that point and 6-5 is still making a wildcard as of now (they've now slipped to 4-8).  That was the signal that they were giving up on the season and Rivera was just keeping the seat warm for the next guy.

You play to win, NO game is irrelevant

Why not see if the OC can be the coach though, he seems to have Howell playing pretty well

If the Eagles fix their problems (OL, DB), don't matter who we play or where we play. Eagles travel just fine (and their fans are everywhere!).

We're the KC of the NFC, no one wants to play us, even at home.

I don't care about San Fran or Dallas winning yesterday.   It was the Lions who were breathing down our necks.  We play San Fran next week and Dallas the Week after for a chance to outright own tiebreakers over both.   We do not play the Lions this year so the Packers Win was huge for the Eagles.  If they win these next three games and go 12-1,they will be close to locking up everything because of tiebreakers.  The Bills game is out of conference and will not affect our 6-0 Conference Record (San Fran 6-1, Dallas 5-3) but they still need to take care of business.

The 49ers game is critical.  Not only on the overall record of W-L, it is also about the 2 teams match up, the game plans and players.  Win or lose, our guys learn something about the other team, on the playing field not just on paper and video.  That would be valuable in the playoff game.
