Already seen this game: no Lane, week before a big matchup, offense plays uninspired at every level and defense tries to hang in.

I blame it on lane not being there, but really I think this comes down to the eagles  even Doug prior to sirianni’s and Johnson have no clue how to run an offense when he isn’t out there. They routinely just assume whoever goes out there is gonna just be able to do what Lane does. Lane is a unique player. If you believe you are just gonna get the same type of play and not change how you are gonna call plays then you are gonna get the same porous result

For a team that prides itself on OL play and depth at that spot, we have nothing at backup tackle. And we ask more of our tackles than anyone.

They need to change the game plan when Lane is out and they’re always too slow to adjust.

Lane + Goedert out is like a death sentence for our offense

Well, you’d figure with Goedert out using Stoll to chip wouldn’t be a big deal… but BJ goes ultra vanilla ahead of SF.

It’s really not rocket science, this passing offense cannot function in the rain. Hurts doesn’t have the arm drive to make throws like Allen did on the Diggs touchdown. It should have been a ground attack based offense today to grind them down and work the playaction off of that.

Add to that a defense that struggles against the run and it was a no brainer. Yet they’ve messed it up.

MVP numbers right there

Forgetting his touchdown. Jalen Hurts and his leadership is the only thing keeping this team in this game still.

I can't believe how often we're throwing in the rain.

And now we're going to have come out throwing to get more possessions.

The Bills aren’t having any trouble throwing the football.

If they dump Johnson now they can figure out a better offense in time for the playoffs

That’s insanity man, there’s 6 games left in the regular season.

"No player shall grab the inside collar of the back or the side of the shoulder pads or jersey, or grab the jersey at the name plate or above, and pull the runner toward the ground”

His pulled him to the ground by his other hand.  The hand on his back was basically there to balance the tackle.  The force wasn’t coming from the hand on his back

Im not going to argue about it back and forth, but the overwhelming majority all say it was a horse collar.

Oh they can absolutely still win the game, it’s just infuriating that it always looks like this.

Yep. Pressure on and Hurts will limit himself to one more TO/fumble before scraping by. I'll take the W but as I said before the game it ain't gonna be pretty.

I don’t disagree that the O has sucked, but the defense has given up back breaking third and longs. The complementary football has stunk today.

They have given them up... and then regrouped and gotten stops after it.   I really have no complaints about the defense.  They are getting hung out to dry.   I agree about the lack of complementary football.   If the offense would actually MOVE the ball, the defense would have a larger margin for error.  And when they have had a long field to defend... they've gotten their job done... not perfectly, but effectively.   A turnover the other way would be nice...

and, as sucky as the first half is... a TD drive by the offense and a pick 6 or scoop and score 6 by the D and this team is in the lead.  There's still a chance they pull this out... but the window is closing quickly, especially if this first drive goes toes up right away.

I'm drafting the best available tackle in RD2 with that NO pick if I'm Howie.

Another thing... we're all just assuming Lane is going to be good to go next week.

Really? Bills have 14 points off his TO's. Keep slurping

And what about the rest of the games where the offense has stumbled around like a drunken sailor?

I hope today was precautionary

Far too sloppy and loose on O. The int ok it happens, but the fumbled hand off in that weather.  Just something not to do - and the O do it enough for it to be a concern. Play smart

Hurts has only 11 attempts.

What’s really frustrating is they’re clearly not learning from previous mistakes, particularly in taking care of the ball. Terrible fumble on an awkward handoff exchange against Dallas, this week, awkward handoff exchange, turnover.

What's this hugging in Tommy Boy that Jim keeps referencing.

Need a score here.  Even a FG.

Oh yay, more passes when EVERYTHIJG in the game says run.

Great start
