He was active Thursday…he made 3 tackles, 1 solo.

He could’ve been elevated from PS and played. So was he signed to the 53 or on PS but elevated?

Other than Shaq Leonard, what other free agent LBs are available?

What was surprising to me tonight was how many points Buffalo put up. They just replaced their OC right?

I picked a fairly low scoring game 27 Eagles - 21 Buffalo, I just didn’t think Buffalo would have much after watching that debacle against Denver.

Brady was the OC for LSU and Burrow, he knows how to scheme up an offense.

That was also a really good Allen game

Lol

The eagles defense is bad

Fortunate for bills missed fg, Carter blocked fg, and some 1-2 missed td passes from bills.

They were frustrating but they were also on the field for almost 100 snaps which is wild. Offense plays a better first half and it's probably not so bad.

Not to defend that first half performance, but losing Lane Johnson a couple of hours before kick off probably changed some of what we wanted to do offensively. Driscoll simply can’t do half of what Lane does.

Part of the issues the eagles had in the past when lane goes out is they try to just use whatever backup they throw out there like he is lane. Can’t do that. Lane is such a unique OT that if you try to then you are likely gonna have issue.

For a broader view…

Don’t count your chickens before they are hatched, but NYG/NYG/AZ are 3 games where the opposition won’t even want to win.  Those will be the laughers everyone has waited for.

SF/@Dallas/@Seattle will probably be typical 2023 Eagles games.  Close, maddening, could go either way, lots of Philly area heart attacks.  Worst case there is probably 1-2.  They have the tiebreaker over Dallas in that scenario even if we lose at Dallas and SF and Dallas wins out.  So the divisional race is functionally over.

If they lost at Dallas and SF and SF wins out…SF has us on the tiebreaker.

So correct me if I’m wrong….assuming they take care of business with NYG/NYG/AZ…the Eagles can wrap up the 1 seed by going 1-2 over their remaining tough games as long as SF doesn’t win out.  And if the Eagles go 2-1 with the remaining tough games, it’s over anyway.

Beat SF…then all you have to do is take care of business against the crap part of the schedule.

Jordan Davis still has some conditioning and body sculpting to do.

He’s a totally different player from last year and has been one of the most improved players on the roster….but he flatlines if you leave him out there too long.

Yes and no. All depends on what type of player they want him to be. I wish he had the stamina to get Fletcher Cox level snaps but I just don't think he'll ever be that guy. He's going to be a 45% snap count player MAX. I'm guessing he was at or above that number tonight with Williams out and Cox having to leave the game. The best thing about him is he flat out busts it on every play. The hustle he showed chasing Josh Allen (and catching him) is more impressive to me than the amount of snaps he played. He was already winded by that time and was going full tilt. THAT'S what you want to see from Jordan Davis. Especially after all of the rumors of him being lazy. His competitiveness and hustle all year has been on a level I wasn't expecting.

One of my arguments against trading up to draft Davis was that they were using multiple draft picks to go after a guy who at best plays 50% of the snaps. However, if he's having an impact on the game during his limited snaps, that's what you really want. In an ideal world, you're getting a guy who makes an impact every play, whether that's an OT, CB, QB, WR etc. but when you draft DT high like the Eagles do, you take the good (impact plays), with the bad (lower snap counts due to rotation).

To your point though, I'm sure there's still some work he can do to get in better shape.

True but in general these 3rd down plays are their achilles heel

But I guess outside of the was game the two WAS games they have a ~20ppg aallowed.

Obviously 5-1 takes everything - #1 seed

4-2 probably still takes the #1 seed

3- 3 Depends on what SF does

I’d add the eagles were absolutely atrocious in containing Allen. Been an issue in the cowboys, chiefs and bills game. Also our 3rd and 7+ yards defense wasn’t good. Bills were 5-11 on them (45.5%)

I can’t believe we scored 30 points after that coward’s screen to Julio to end our first drive of the third quarter.

He was signed and elevated as teams were wanting to sign him. He’s now fully under contract. Dallas has lost two LBs this year. Losing Vander Esch really hurt the depth. They moved Markquese Bell down from safety to help fill the position. He’s done ok but really need a true LB. Losing Overshown on the last preseason game hurt a ton. Dude is a player. Hopefully he recovers from the ACL.

Hopefully the eagles win next week the only foreseeable loss for the niners is cardinals bc its a divisional game

i thought he rebounded really good because it was rough to start off the game lol

The Eagles, and Brian Johnson specifically, did Driscoll no favors by dropping back 3 straight times to open the game. I get that they probably have the first plays scripted (3 passes is bad either way) but you'd think they'd adjust due to a major injury on top of a top pass rush and crappy weather. Nope.

I believe so. It was pretty clear on the one earlier that he barely flung the ball before hitting the turf that he was going to do anything to keep those guys from getting their stats. Im sure it annoys the defensive line if it annoyed me on my couch. The announcers mentioned he has only been sacked 17 times this season. He is making sure no one gets a stat on him.

Sweat was on Sirius last Tuesday after the game talking about that.  Said it was BS that intentional grounding isn't counted as a sack.

In fact, he said BS twice and cursed a couple of other times.  The hosts were like thanks for joining us and possibly getting us fired for censorship violations 🤣

Everyone loves to hate on Gainwell…and there was that botched exchange…but he was very effective in sparing relief of Swift today.

He had 2 carries. This team would be so much better with a strong number 2. Would've made a huge difference tonight. I'm hoping for a Swift extension then another back in the draft, say round 4, 5. Trey Benson would be a nice complement to Swift. I like the Kentucky back as well.

Defense is horrible at containing a scramble drill, maintaining their gaps in their pass rush, and finishing sacks. It’s been a trend and QBs have killed them.
