So you’re saying he couldn’t have pulled up and contact was unavoidable?

Looked like he did try to pull away but the light contact was sold as a punishing hit NBA style

I’m not trying to be argumentative here but that same scenario happened in the KC game as well and was called against the Eagles. The defender had the chance to pull up in both cases and didn’t, he took a full step and a half once the ball was away and forearm checked him. If it were Hurts on the other end of that play you’d want that call right? I would.

They are going to protect the QB, they’ve been consistent about that the last several years. 15-20 years ago they don’t call that, but they do now, if the ball is away and contact can be avoided, avoid it. Otherwise it’s gonna get called.

I hear what you saying.. I process it, but hate the new NFL and the way it is over officiated.  And no, if it weren't called against Mahomes and Allen, I wouldn't expect it to be for Hurts either... and I don't want it to be.  I want games won and lost due to plays, not penalties.  That said, since they do call crappy penalties and do call it for Mahomes and Allen, of course I want equal treatment, but I always prefer borderline calls to not be called, especially ones that have zero impact on the actual play.  So I'd rather none of those get called than all 3.  Less flags = better football.

I know I’ve been a broken record on this, but obviously the Eagles see it with that Mailaita comment.

Hurts is not that good running outside the tackles...because he’s not actually that fast.  He’s very good running through a wide gap DL and a defense that leaves the middle of the field open respecting the pass.

Those runs are so much more successful than the designed off tackle runs that usually result in Hurts sitting down for a loss.

This offense is better as a north south offense, both in the passing and running game.

Anyone know why Lane Johnson didnt play today?

Cause he's a soft, crybaby wimp... or so I was told in the blog.

He'll be the only guy that fresh for SF!  :flex:

Frankly if I’m desai i go watch him Schwartz game plan against shanahan. For as much as people got on Schwartz, he has had great success against the niners. Even this year (granted niners down some guys).

Schwartz' D played well against the Falcons in 2016, when Shanahan was the OC.  Held them to 15 points.

I’m not saying Allen didn’t try and sell it, he definitely did. If there is a chance late in a close game that you are gonna get called for it just pull up or run by, the ball is out, you aren’t affecting the play unless you get a penalty. The fact that it was called just last week is enough to at least consider pulling up in a close game. He didn’t try to pull up, he checked him.

There are so many plays like this especially on the sidelines where guys all across the league just don’t stop and get avoidable penalties.
I’ll shut up now.

Dude it’s a joke. Take a chill pill and relax

Its lazy.

I showed how in the apples to apples Hurts is way better than his peers.

Brady was 4-18 BTW, it still makes Hurts look awesome because he is awesome.

Rodgers was 6-23

I agree completely, I do. But unfortunately as you said that’s is todays NFL. Maybe we need Robo Refs lol

The personal foul Morrow on Allen was really soft.  He did lay his hands on him late…so I guess that gets called.  If they did that to Hurts, I’d have called it soft too.

Slay got away with a blatant PI that everyone on the blog called perfect coverage.  It was irrelevant because the Bills gained all those yards on the next play anyway.

The refs did a nice job calling offsetting penalties on a PI and a hold on Sweat.  The hold usually gets missed on those.

I thought it was fine overall.

Guess who initiated that conflict?  (Hint: it wasn't the fan.)

He was about as involved as Rasul Douglas on Jalen’s TD run.

He could have truly leveled him if he wanted to. He didn't... little light nudge because he doesn't have air breaks

Nope, we actually need refs like Gene Serratore was... communicate, common sense and don't influence the outcome, let the players decide it.  That's all I want from an official, and when in doubt.... keep the flag in your pocket.  Egregious, and play affecting infractions are called... that's it.  And procedural things like illegal shifts, illegal formations, etc.

Ok I’m out for the night. Another big win for you guys, good job.

As I said earlier in the week, the Eagles find ways to win in the clutch, you cannot under appreciate that. Get healthy for the 9’ers. God knows I want y’all to whip their a$$.

It’d be great if the Eagles 2nd half/OT offense starts the game in the first quarter next week

Have to figure the SF pass rush is going to be recklessly tearing upfield with their hair on fire.

They are going to be over amped in a revenge game and that needs to be anticipated and used against them.

The Eagles really struggle executing screens, but they should try to get that all world DL to over pursue in the backfield while they dink right over their heads.

I can see the slow starts the past two weeks.

Andy/Spags have two weeks to game plan and took a while for BJ to adjust.

Short week off a big road win and then your All-Pro RT can't start.  Again, needed to reconfigure the game plan on the fly.

I don't see any excuse next week.

Those bitter losers in SF have been game planning for this one for a year.
