Gonna keep posting this...

Also because Hurts hasn't been able to get those 5 yard runs on 1st and 2nd downs to make their distances more manageable, I think that's why they've been calling so many WR screens. It looks to me that they're trying to scheme and design plays to get them 4,5,6,7 yards to make distances more manageable since last year they just relied on Hurts legs to do that.

We are gonna learn a lot about sirianni and Johnson play calling and gameplan this week against the niners. The chiefs were the best defense we have faced so far this year and we had mixed results. I thought spags outcoached sirianni/Johnson for a large portion of that game but eagles talent eventually came through and won the game. Imo niners defense is the best defense we will likely play against this year. They have an elite pass rush and very physical. They have weaknesses in their secondary. They’ve given up over 24 points once this year. If the offense is able to put up points and not turnover the ball vs the niners we can really beat any defense in this league and less concerns going forward. However if we struggle and offense can’t score and turn it over then it’s an issue as it’s pretty likely we are gonna run into the niners again in the postseason.

Niners defense has a huge hole now at Safety. Their secondary was already suspect. As always though it's all about the trenches and what Eagles OL shows up that day.

Did a screen grab...

I hope Brian Johnson can be a head coach elsewhere next year.  Reich with this offense would be sick!

I’m not sure resigning on the spot would help him get hired again either. Then again, a team hired Josh McDaniel after reneging on a deal.

Tbh if he should’ve just sat out the year and went back into it next year. I’m guessing there’s multiple better jobs out there then panthers. like chargers and potentially bills. Frankly I’d want no part of that panthers job prior to bryce young. I really don’t want it now that we have a lack of picks and who knows what young is.

Also I’d say turnovers. Can’t have 2-3 turnovers against them and expect to win. I’m guessing if we have 2 turnovers we are likely losing that game.

That's the kicker. We've all discussed that the Eagles are playing C level football and haven't come close to putting together a complete game. On the flipside, they are beating these teams that are throwing everything they can at them. Josh Allen has been a shadow of his MVP level self this year and all of the sudden, he can't be stopped against the Eagles. Dak and CeeDee put on a show against the Eagles. Sam Howell played like Tom Brady in both games against the Eagles. Yet the Eagles keep winning while not even coming close to their full ability.

Right now the Eagles are a V8 running on 5 cylinders and they are some how beating twin turbo v6s.

That second half yesterday was pretty impressive football, same goes for the KC game. I don’t know if it’s adjustments or what but once that gets figured out…look out league.

If they can make adjustments at halftime they need to work on making those same in game adjustments vs halftime adjustments, if they’re adjustments at all. It’s almost like the team just flips a switch.

5'10, 180 lbs, non-plus arm, no blazing speed ........ but smart.  He's really smart.

Seeing a lot of Eagles haters and Bills fans trying to compare this to the AJ Brown non-fumble. Embarrassing.

The pass to AJ wasn’t a completion, my son and I both called it at the same time before the replay.
I didn’t watch the late game but judging on that twitter clip that doesn’t look like a catch either. I haven’t bothered to go back and look for another replay of it though.

Let’em complain, that W isn’t coming off the board.

If we beat SF and then win the final 3 we would win the tie breaker vs Dallas even if we lose to Dallas and Seattle.

Yes.   The road to the #1 seed absolutely gets easier by beating SF, but no guarantee of the 1 in the scenario you laid out, UNLESS Detroit loses again.  Detroit gets the nod in the Common opponent tiebreaker.

Eagles and Lions both play:  KC (both won), Seattle (both lose in scenario you painted), Tampa (both won), Vikings (Eagles 1-0, Detroit would be 2-0), Dallas (Eagles would be 1-1, Detroit would be 1-0)... so Eagles 4-2.  Lions 5-1.

Of course, I think Detroit is primed to be plucked again and will lose at least 1 more, if not 2, maybe even 3.  (Vikings twice, Dallas once, even road games against Saints and Bears could be tricky for them with the way they are playing right now... Bears nearly beat them in Detroit, they could get it done in a bad weather game in Chicago in December.)

I mean he also said "Bills can tie it with a FG" twice being down by 4 and then wondered if Eagles would fake the FG at the end of regulation by "putting Diggs out on the boundary" in the same game.

I actually missed that one because I was chasing around a toddler for about half the game

These 4 pm games are killing me.  She naps from 1-4.  But then again I do get to celebrate with her, even if she doesn't know why we are clapping and high fiving... she's just happy to be part of it

I think you and I had this discussion during the draft process that the only quarterback that we would take in the top 5 would be CJ Stroud. And you and I have both said in the past we were really dont like taking any Ohio State Qb because most of them are not as good as they look in college. But we both had the same sentiment that CJ Stroud would be the outlier of what the Ohio State quarterbacks that had come out.

I said leading up to the draft and during the the lions should have moved up from 6 to get CJ Stroud. I don’t think goff is good enough to get them to win a Super Bowl. They are gonna. Run into the problem the rams had. If you would’ve went and got CJ Stroud, they could’ve potentially traded Jared Goff with all these Qb injuries and cash out so the payoff for stroud wouldn’t have been as bad. Plus you would’ve had a cheaper rookie contract for the next five years with CJ Stroud.

We've been saying this all year and some how they win... lol. I'm kind of worried now if they go into the 2nd half up 10 lmao.

Maybe but they used the WR screen a fair amount over the last 2 seasons.  I think they run it to help set the fake one which is what Devonte scored on.  You may be right, though.  They definitely are taking a different approach on first down runs.

I think like the jets game this year annd the commanders game last year, eventually you play with fire enough it’s gonna burn you. We’ve overcome it a ton of times. It’s great until you have the game where you simply can’t.

I'd say that the grounds for Reich would be far greater than the grounds for McDaniel as well.   The answer is:  "I told them I wanted Stroud, they said they were going with Young.   So, I told them they clearly have hired the wrong guy as they don't trust me to make the right selection at QB.  If this had come to light during the interview process, I wouldn't have taken the job in the first place."

Just one of those things where the organization and the HC aren't on the same page.   And if you aren't on the same page from Day 1, you will never get on the same page.

Just try a sippy cup of beer to help her calm down if she's too excitable.

No way, that's just wrong!

If I'm not having beer during the game, she sure as hell isn't.

I missed most of the 3rd quarter because of my son's birthday party.  Kids definitely get in the way of football watching, LOL.

Was that a horse collar?  Per the rule book, for that to be a horse collar tackle, Allen needed to be outside of the pocket (he was), and Reddick needed to grab him at or above the name on his jersey (he did).

Made me laugh

Special teams have really taken a positive step lately. Jobe is an animal as a gunner and has made some big tackles, Mann is bombing punts, Jake is Jake, Covey has been a great returner this season, Carter had a blocked FG yesterday. It feels like they have finally turned into an efficient unit.

The biggest weakness has been punt coverage.   It wasn't great against KC, but they got it done in a critical spot.   The rest of ST has been pretty close to stellar since Mann has become more consistent.   He shanked a few early on...iirc.

There is definitely a dummy play aspect to it. They know it won't work, but it helps set things up later in the game. The Hurts game-winning run in OT worked because everyone bit on the Swift motion thinking it was going to be a screen, which cleared the box out and allowed Hurts to spring left.

He was being pulled down from the front prior to him grabbing the back. At least that's what I saw real time as it was happening.
