It's funny, for as awful as he's been in NY I still kind of think Wilson could end up being a decent QB.  He's gotta get away from the Jets though.

I don't know how you could think that if you watch him.  No part of his game has improved since his rookie year.  He is erratic and has terrible pocket presence.  He looks like a deer in headlights during most of the game.

The thing about horse collar tackles is they aren't dangerous because of the horse collar itself, they're dangerous because a player running forward fast is being pulled down from behind. You hear the talk this year about hip drop tackles are next to go. Another tackle done from behind. Which is ridiculous because how are you going to tackle a player from behind if you can't grab the top of the body and can't grab the hips. Dive at their feet?

Tackling from behind is a risk. Either allow it or ban it entirely. And if you ban it entirely you might as well play two hand touch at that point.

Or you can tackle from behind and push the ball carrier forward for 3-4 yards every time like this team does. They've mastered that art 😑

Albert Okwuegbunam seems on borrowed time. No Goedert or Calcaterra and he only played 9 snaps. Togiai almost outsnapped him despite just getting here a week ago.

We worked out a TE today too. I forget his name.

Damn. McCown loved Stroud. He did a video breaking him down predraft before he was hired by Carolina.

Also I think that Jordan Phillips "encroachment" on the first tush push was 100% intentional, and something I was kinda worried teams would start doing eventually either due to frustration of not being able to stop the play or to "set the tone".

Best bet to stop it is to be aggressive with jumping the snap.  It’s not a bad approach.

I guess Bryce Young is cleaning house.

All things considered i think driscoll had a decent game.

He got rinsed on the first play and seemed to settle after that

I agree.  And I was very pessimistic. Darkly pessimistic.

Oh no...I hope this doesn't hurt Philly fans' reputation.

Sad.  Duce went to Carolina because he wanted to go back to coach a team closer to where he was from.

Pretty dumb fan when you're in the stands and the man still almost stands eye to eye with you lol. Seemed like he kept growing every step he took lmao.

When I first saw this video yesterday I thought it was immediately after the game; then at the end you can see the game is in progress.

Way to keep your heads in the game, guys    😂

He wanted to be closer to his mom too. Left his position in Detroit for that main reason. Just brutal.

He was noticeably agro throughout the game, wonder what type of vitamins he’s taking.

In other karma news, the Phillips from MIA (wing flapper, got dirty on the victory formation) out for the season.

Hmm I wonder how many Eagles fans have immediate knowledge of Jordan Phillips family.  Guy who got pushed appears to be black so I don't think he can say he called him a racial slur and get away with it

Final six possessions...TD, TD, TD, Punt, FG, TD.

How do you define "position to succeed"?

Last year he looked way more confident in the pocket and made faster decisions. Yes, his talent carries them but you don't think he looked better with Shane? He put him in better positions. Even in games where he was flat at first he would call plays to get him going...and not waiting until the end of the game to do it. I think that's why they also dominated more. They would get early big leads.

Tough day yesterday for David Akers.

Gets passed by Graham on the all-time games played list.

Gets passed by Elliott as the greatest kicker in franchise history.

So no consideration for adjusting the game plan to account for Lane's absence?

Also, he doesn't have turnover plays on his call sheet.

If this was a one off situation rather than a habitual situation, then sure.   But, it's not.

And yeah... I would have LOVED to see some adjusting of the game plan to account for Lane's absence.   Sadly, instead of that they came out and threw the ball 3 straight times.  Run blocking is way easier for a player coming into the game to do when he's been working out more at OG than RT.   But hey... Johnson only had 4 hours to figure out Lane was out.  It takes time to look at the scripted plays and reconsider starting with a pass (while giving your new RT no help with a chip or having the TE lined up on that side).

He doesn't have 'broken' plays on his call sheet either, so does that erase the TD to OZ?    Nah.  Outcomes are outcomes.  You showed the last 6 drives.  I showed the first 6.   I could add the 7th drive too which came after the halftime break where adjustments are supposed to happen... 7th drive... 3 and out.  3 straight passes, exactly the same as the first drive of the game.  Ironically, when their run rate went up... their overall success rate also went up.

F it.  Mariota for Staley straight up.

That guy is a hot head.  Didn’t he hit some of our O-Linemen late after the whistle a few times?
