In the race for the 1 seed, is a tie as good as a win or as good as a loss?

Moot point now, but a tie would have been beneficial with respect to San Francisco (they wouldn't be able to beat us and then win a tiebreak if we lose another and they win out) but probably wouldn't have helped with respect to Dallas since the tiebreakers would have been in our favor already (assuming we didn't lose a game to the Giants and lose the divisional tiebreak).

Kicking a tying field goal would absolutely have been the right call if it come down to a fourth down. Thankfully Swift and Hurts carried us the final thirty yards or so.

I don't know how you could think that if you watch him.  No part of his game has improved since his rookie year.  He is erratic and has terrible pocket presence.  He looks like a deer in headlights during most of the game.

The Jets have never really been a team that develops their QB talent.  You either have to do what we initially did with Wentz (and kind of like what Houston is doing with Stroud) where you surround them with smart, offensive, QB-minded coaches.  Or you do what Green Bay does and you let them cook on the bench for a few seasons.

The Jets didn't do either with Wilson.  He goes from being a 21-year-old kid from Utah to being the starting quarterback of a struggling franchise in the world's largest media market overnight.  He had the physical tools but he wasn't pro-ready at all, not by a long shot.  That's not a shot at him but you have to treat a player like that with a little more patience.  The NFL is a much faster game, especially for QB's.

They've just about blown it with Wilson the same way they blew it with Darnold.  The best thing in the world they could've done was get Rodgers and let Wilson chill on the bench for a year or two.  They're just getting bit by the mess they created for themselves, again.

Also I think that Jordan Phillips "encroachment" on the first tush push was 100% intentional, and something I was kinda worried teams would start doing eventually either due to frustration of not being able to stop the play or to "set the tone".

It was definitely intentional. There's not a lot of downside to it either. It's basically automatic that we convert so the 5 yards isn't anything. Best case scenario you time the snap perfectly and have a shot at stopping it.

Teams can try it all and we'll just keep smashing it down their throat.

Duuuuuuuuuce's coaching career going up in flames.  Peavea Detroit for Carolina as Detroit then becomes a top team and he gets fired mid-season in Carolina year one.  Maybe he can land on Andy's staff in KC.

I meant he was intentionally being dirty about it. It certainly makes sense to do it, I just don't think it was as simple as "whoops, I mistimed it".

I think if he didn't have interest he'd have said something like I love Frank, but we're happy with our staff right now.

Not to single out you per se, but I'm really tired of this narrative. Elliott has been better than Akers for a long time. This isn't something recent. I liked Akers a lot, but I also think he was overrated by our fan base. Those blown kicks (41 and 34 yards) against the Packers in that playoff game might very well have cost them the game, but you never hear a peep about that from our fans.

Different era (so to speak).  Akers was among the top kickers in the NFL during his time here and still among the all-time Eagles scorers.  So yes, up until recently, he has been considered the best Eagles kicker ever.

If they called how didn't a trade come together. What did they offer, hot dogs?

Yes however they didn't include buns.  That was what held up the deal.

Oh no...I hope this doesn't hurt Philly fans' reputation.

The "fan" is a knucklehead.

That's funny, I was actually wondering how the organization felt about that.

He's not great, but NFL teams can be pretty shallow.

The Eagles score a lot of points, so the OC must be head coach material!!

Barnett is buns

Yes, but I didn't see the fan doing anything wrong.  They were heckling an opposing team's player.  It's not like they threw something at the player.   This is the same guy that jumped on the 3rd and 1 to get a cheap shot on Hurts so I don't believe him.

Second best.  Derius Davis is the best.  Hios success at TCU has translated directly to the NFL.

Josh Sweat is 5 snaps away from passing his 2022 regular season total.

How terrifying is it for all 335 pounds of Jordan Davis to be running at you at ~17 miles per hour?
