Sirianni trying his hand at gamesmanship.  Robert already made it known a week ago that he's good to go for the Chiefs.

It’s a little telling that Quez hasn’t had his 21 day window opened. He’s eligible to come off IR, he had the additional week of the bye to get healthy, and Goedert is out for an extended period of time. Would be a perfect opportunity to get back on the field and support that #3 receiving option. I guess the coaching staff is comfortable with Julio, OZ, Swift, and Stoll combining for that roll.

Is Quez done here?

No. I'm not a Quez fan at all but he'll be back. He just started on field rehab the last few practices before the last game, and I expect they will be cautious bringing him back considering he re-aggravated the injury coming back too soon last time.

Any word on Jurgens?  Oline has kinda sucked since he went out

🤣 I said the exact same thing out loud.

Josiah Scott is an easy cut for Justin Evans.

With Dean on IR, we can activate Quez or Jurgens.
Will need to clear one more slot for the other to play. We could just a wait a week for Quez.

No reason for Barnett to get any more snaps. Waste of space

I have always thought he does a good job setting his edge.  Not really sure I have watched as intently this season, as I tend to watch the middle more with Carter et al.

Didn't realize the splits were that pronounced.

I don't think Nolan Smith is good at the moment, but when you watch him he's certainly active.

Being active can help good things happen once he starts to figure it out.   Right now, I think his head is swimming... and he's trying to get by on speed/athleticism alone.  That's not going to fly very far.

I don't think it is an either/or question.  My crystal ball says that they want to see what they have in Julio, and this is a perfect opportunity to do so.  Decisions about Quez are not time dependent.  They can wait a few weeks.

BG can certainly take Barnett’s snaps, but to get Nolan on the field you likely need less Reddick which could hurt.

I think people try to read WAY TOO MUCH into how someone does right out of the gates in the NFL.  Smith will be OK, we need to give him a season or two to get used to being in the NFL.  Jordan Davis also needed most of last year to get used to being in the NFL and he seems to be doing well now.

Sigh.  Sadly, true.  The best ability is 'availability' (Did Bill Parcells say that?)   Unfortunately for Nakobe, he seems to be lacking in both ability and availability...

I think he has decent instincts but he has very limited technique.  Speed and athleticism don't get you to the play if you don't know what is happening.  He seems to read things fairly well but struggles with coverage drops and defeating blocks. The focus should be to get him on the field more.  He's not a liability against the run.  He' a sure tackler. He just has so much more upside than Barnett ever will.

Sweat has been playing a ton, well above his yearly average. He's only 153 snaps behind his regular season total last year with 8 games to go. He could probably use a small reduction to keep him fresh, but coaches don't seem to trust Smith yet.

YES!!!  Welcome back Cam!  Does this mean we'll be able to run the football again?

Yup - a Sweat-Reddick-BG rotation isn’t sustainable.  Other than upping Nolan’s snaps (yes) or Barnett’s (no please), the other alternative is getting Milton out there which has its pros/cons.

Patrick Johnson seems to be a complete afterthought despite having some good moments last season.

This was pretty innovative IMO. You don’t just forget how to coach football, he can still be an improvement and successful in the right place.

That is a clever play. It doesn't distract from the overall crap that the Pats have become. Mediocrity was never a word that would be associated with them.  Anyone that plays in a keeper fantasy league knows how many Pats players are left hanging around in rookie drafts. They are a career dead end on the O side of things.

He's still a really good defensive coach, and the Chargers haven't had a good head coach since Marty Schottenheimer.  The problem is, I agree he isn't a good GM anymore and he'll want control over the roster wherever he goes.

Agree.  Within a structure that limits his power and grumpiness, he'd be better. I just don't see him ever wanting to give it up. He thinks he is the franchise, it seems

Some of us international types tried to put out to the media types 👋 it wasn't a rugby play.

The more interesting part is the tackling review.  Epps was a concussion waiting to happen, and right technique, helps solve that and reduce the potential for penalties. Smart

Smith needs to add 10 lbs of muscle to be a rush LB, you need power as well as speed.

Not sure he has the instincts to play ILB.

Jalen Hurts scored on this play.

If they end up banning the tush push, I don’t think it’ll ultimately matter

They'd need to ban all pushing, because plenty of games feature pushing from the O to get extra yards

He cherry picks like one of us
