I think Covey should get some looks on our overused WR screens.  His presence on the field might be a massive tell for that play, considering no one is going to respect him blocking or running a route.  But they are obsessed with that play and it's functionally a punt return following lanes and blockers...he's built for it and can get lost behind big blockers.

Nah... what they're doing actually made a lot of sense yesterday. They have to show the same looks to sucker the defense into being overaggressive on the slip screens then BAM big play over the top out of the same look. Both Smitty and AJ were wide open on that TD play where they faked the slip screen look to Julio. They've been setting that up for the last two weeks.

#2 is this Sunday.

Good, we need to finish up the straight.

Reich already won a SB here as an OC.  His interest (and opportunity) to be a HC are over.

I wouldn't be surprised if he were interested in coming here as a consultant for the balance of this season.  But beyond that...if Johnson got a HC job, would Reich really be interested in strapping in again as a full time OC?  He may not want that.

Reich being this years Marcus Brady like hire would make a ton of sense. Allows Reich to work with the current staff a bit and then he is in place and ready to go as potential replacement if Brian Johnson gets a HC shot. Would think current Alex Tanney is too young to take over OC job but perhaps Siri views Kevin Patullo as next man up. He was one of his first hires as HC.

You know that's a great point as well.

Imagine how egregiously often the Eagles need to run a play that everyone in the stadium knows will go for 0 yards in order to get the defense to over-pursue to stop a play that they know stops itself.  Maybe we can run it as a set up play and finally execute it so we get positive yards in the process...and that's not happening with Julio.

Julio did get 5 yards that one time. It has to be blocked up nice and they haven't been doing well with it.

If Brian Johnson leaves in the off-season, Marcus Brady is going to be the OC.

Julio is averaging 3.2 yards per reception, which is inflated by his 8 yard TD that wasn't a screen.  Excluding that non screen reception, he's got catches of 0, 0, 5, and 3 yards.  Some of that is definitely on blocking, as you said.  But I think we can loosen up on those play calls.

He has the whole head jerking back thing going on too to make it look helmet to helmet.  Impressive acting especially in slow mo.

He was tapping his damn head as he was falling to the ground. He knew what he was doing.

Wasn't the word from the local media that Alex Tanney (the QB Coach) was the heir apparent for OC?

Goedert is pushing to be back? That would be like 3 weeks after the injury? That would be insane.

Part of the scouting report needs to include which opposing QBs are flopping pieces of ish so that the DL/LBs know to be on alert for it. That being said, Morrow needs to be smarter and just grab and hold instead of extending his arms which gives Allen his chance to shine.

Broadcasters actually made a great point about the fact that it's difficult as hell to tackle him when he's running yet he goes down that easy after a shove

It really can’t be overstated just how insane that kick was in the driving rain.

Completely absurd stuff.

They win the SEC West every f'ing year with a crap line huh? They've lost less than 20 regular season games in the last 13 years, and have lost one SEC West title on straight win loss record once since 2012 (they missed the championship game on tiebreaker another 3 times).  When was the last time they averaged less than 45 points a game?

The idea that Alabama isn't putting out a line that's demonstrably better than 95% of other college programmes is horseshit of the purest ray serene.

Tell me you don't watch the games without telling me you don't watch the games, it's okay though.

Bryce Young was that good his junior year he masked his offensive line and hate to break it to you but SEC West isn't that elite. It's Bama and LSU that is good once every few years.

Besides Steen who got drafted highly from Bama's offensive line that turned out to be great in last few years? Even Neal, nope. Leatherwood, nope. Johan Williams, nope. Dickerson is best kid drafted from Bama in last 5 years.

Remember when Michael Clay had to go.

We are now #1 in Special Teams DVOA.

Man just watching the Hurts postgame presser and it’s a tough watch. He strives for perfection so much and he’s so hard on himself. You do wonder what it does to him long term.

I have a feeling with how the niners have looked the last 3 weeks and how the eagles have looked in finishing the Dallas game, first half against the chiefs and bills that the public money would go all in on niners. Plus i think the public is gonna use the whole revenge game with their money

Yeah but now it's on tape and teams can't be as overaggressive going forward or risk getting burned in the same fashion. Could open things up a bit for that play in the coming weeks.

Oh for sure. And to be fair the Niners are playing really good football right now on both sides of the football and we are not. But we keep on finding ways to win and that’s what should really matter.

I think Brian Johnson has done a great, great job coaching Hurts.  I usually avoid piling on with opinions shared by the masses, but I don't think he is a good play caller.  I do think, however, that he's a really good coach.

3 OC's in 3 years would have a negative impact on Hurts.  He'll keep after it, but it's not ideal...no matter what people have to say about Brian Johnson.

I'd embrace a fresh perspective calling plays and a pair of 3rd round picks, but I think the stability on offense would be more valuable.

That said, I don't think he's getting any HC offers unless the Eagles win the SB...even then, he probably needs to oversee a high flying offense for 2 years, not 1.

This offense is anything but high flying to be frank.  Jake from State Farm and Swift are the real MVP’s of the O this year IMO.  AJ deserves huge credit for the stats he’s piled up, but the O spends too much time for long stretches being completely inept to really praise them.  When they forget that Swift exists, they stall…magically they remember to use him and everything starts working again.  Also, I need to take a look at All 22 if I can, but the passing game concepts seem to be college level at best.

He's obsessive like many of the greats are. Long term he's a beast if he keeps this up.

Can't overuse Swift is the issue. Need him for when it really matters.
