5 straight TD drives lol.

same Defense as the SB lmao. No heart. No physicality. No identity. No IQ. I hate this MFing coordinator

It's been this way for years regardless of coordinator. I'm blaming the higher ups as they only hire coordinators that will run what their vision of a defense is. It's not this guys fault they don't sign linebackers worth a damn.

Pretty sure he will be, he wasn't far off playing this game. Jalen is the real question.

Goedert is definitely playing next week. Assuming jalen is as he’s back out there.

If Eagles lose next week and Niners win next week Eagles are still the #1 seed.

Wouldn't they have the same record and SF obviously beat us head to head?

now we are gonna have all kinds of underneath stuf... down 35-13... LMFAO

It's probably been there all game but this team can never just take what the defense gives

and Hurts. Taking that sack on 2nd down falling in open space killed it

If the Eagles lose another game after this one, and the Niners win out. The NIners and Eagles would each have 3 losses, and the NIners would hold the HEAD TO HEAD tie breaker

I have a harder time blaming desai. I think he’s playing with an awful linebacker unit. And he’s playing with below average safeties. I’d add our depth at DE is not nearly what it once was and our rotations at DT aren’t good enough.

I said in the game thread, no one wanted to hear this because we hadn't been blown out yet, but this team is very similar to last year's Vikings. Now we have been blown out. They haven't played a full 4 quarters all season. They've been living on the edge all season, and next week can get worse.

Team is actually improved, but unfortunately they didn't improve enough against the 49ers. There was actually plenty of good play calls this game. Much much much less head scratchers offensively, even though we were missing Goedert. Defensively, that's kind of how Kyle Shanahan is. One of the best play designers in the NFL, our secondary is mediocre, and we were missing a linebacker.

I actually think that they showed progress here despite the score, it's more the dynamics of the game that caused them problems. Hurts slipping on that early drive that almost certainly would have resulted in points, SF winning the toss and getting the ball at the half to pull the old Patriots approach (score before the half, score after the half), our defense not being as good as last year so we had issues because over 50% of plays from SF were scheming people open, etc.

The offensive inconsistency was a large part of WHY we were living on the edge, so I think if they stay similar to this week it'll fix the problem against most teams. The problem then is only how to beat the best ones when they make few mistakes and are very healthy. That'll be tough because we just do not have the secondary for it this year.

He's not saying what if he did it he's saying what the refs are calling that?

I don’t care about linebackers. They’re not the problem. When you’re playing 10 yards off of NFL receivers every play, it doesn’t matter who’s playing LB lol

No flag on Bosa going low…

BJ passing on the freaking 1.

Dallas would also have 3 losses and it would be a 3-way tie. 4-way with Lions possibly too. Take it up with the record nerds. They've done the math and said if Eagles lose next week but win out they're the 1 seed.

TD Smith

Wouldnt it be conf record?

Agreed! Too much blame is put on the coordinator. You can only do so much with the talent that you have at your disposal. Our back 7 has been bad for years.

Our defense is pass rush, or nothing.

Really ugly game.  Finally caught up to us.  Offense gets by on talent.  Defense doesn’t have enough, particularly on 2nd and 3rd level.  Season isn’t over but this team needs to find some spirit.

Then blame Howie for hiring coordinators that run this style defense. It's what they want

2 point failed

Kyle Shanahan does a really good job of not making his QBs play NFL football. Most of the stuff that opens up for them is actually by design, not by traditional read and act. It's likely that what the defense needs to be able to do next time is make Brock actually play NFL QB. You'll notice the stat lines in everything except yards and TDs are similar between Purdy and Hurts, but that Hurts had to do it in a much tougher fashion than Purdy.

I also said this before, they need to get a Fullback and just bully people. You saw that was a big part of what SF was doing, getting an extra guy to get out on linebackers.

Meh maybe for a minute but it really doesn't matter as long as they get their stuff together. Not going to win every game

Yeah, should sit him out. Going to be tough next week but with Dallas and Hurts (hopefully) available we somehow eek out a win. Been a miserable day, but I'm thankful we just about managed wins against Chiefs, Cowboys and Bills when I thought we'd drop at least one of those.
