Not that it matters for eagles but this is recent history. Both teams were swept in regular season.

Counter point: those are 2 of the weakest SB winners of all time.

Counter counter point: this season will likely feature one of the weakest SB winners of all time.

Very nice. Go to the beach, and once you get on the hot sand lay face down and breathe in through your mouth and you’ll know exactly what it was like to watch the game today.

On that exact same path.

Unfortunately, I just found out I have Covid (that's still a thing?!!).  Just F this day.  So now no more booze but more edibles 😜

My dad has had covid and is still testing positive over a week later. Mostly a cold, cough, and low fever. Hes now mostly just congested in mornings and nights, feeling a lot better but still testing positive.

People stopped getting the boosters, so I expect infections to be a little more severe than they were last year when most people had protection and it really felt mostly like a minor cold.

Luckily, its still not very severe. But I think if people continue to be stupid, we will eventually begin seeing more severe cases again.

SF will likely win if they stay healthy. They have a defense with some sort of competence and effort, and an offense who’s almost averaging 30ppg. I wouldn’t say they’re weak at all.

How so they won? Tampa was pretty impressive because they won 3 road games to get to SB.

I think the 2022 Eagles blow the doors off both of those SB teams.

Exactly, every single contender this year has been blown out already except the Ravens

things were great the first few weeks of the season.

Now he doesnt finish sacks. And one tough game he is throwing hands at a 9ers player and telling fans (Im assuming?) that theyre broke.

Grocery store incident in the recent past.

Hes proving to still be a low character player. Probably a 1 contract player in philly too.

Definitely the defense. If they could ever get off the field the offense will eventually score. This defense makes the Commanders look like The greatest show on turf and has no idea how to stop the psd whatsoever. In a passing league I can’t understand how we’ve chosen the defense that gives up the pass so easily lol.

They have half the talent and in 2 drives they have more carries than we had the entire game lmao. It’s not about comparing talent of teams it’s about the incompetent playcalling that’s allowed in this franchise on both sides of the ball.

One who passes* to setup the pass* and refuses to run the ball.

And the other who is so terrified to force a QB into a mistake, he’d rather give them 8 yards a play before anyone can touch the ball carrier.

We’ll be watching from the same place the Packers are in a few weeks with these coordinators.

I agree offensive side. But I think you’re being super harsh on desai who’s been giving a bunch of issues.

First, they don’t have a slot corner because Maddox never stays healthy. That’s on howie for paying him and continuously relying on a guy who is not Fing reliable. This is like when the Niners kept relying on their slot corner verrett. Great when he played but who continuously got hurt year after year. Eventually, they cut the cord because he never stayed healthy.

second, we can make excuses that linebackers around the league is a problem. But the eagles linebackers are Fing atrocious. Besides Cunningham who is basically on his last legs and average, the rest of that group is bad. Going back to 2016, the Eagles have spent two top three round picks on LBers. both of them look like complete busts. The only linebacker they have developed since 2016 has been TJ Edwards and they let him leave. Even though he wasn’t great he was at least competent. It’s really hard to win in this league when you can’t cover the middle of the field. our linebackers year to year is musical chairs of udfa, third tier FAs and bust or late round draft picks.

third, the safety position is clearly a problem. Sidney Brown might be a player in time. But the injuries he had, and not getting those snaps early in the year or showing. He’s not ready. I said there’s all the way back in training camp that if you were going to rely on a rookie and a heart of your schedule is what it is you were going to get burned. Now they’re not relying on him because they made a trade for Kevin Byard. but Kevin Byard isn’t the same player he was two years ago or even last year. He is a mediocre player this year. Maybe that changes next year. But he’s not good right now.  Blankenship, who I like, is just not as good as we thought. It shows against better offenses. I think he’s a solid starter, but he’s not gonna give you the play making ability that Chauncey Gardner Johnson gave you last year. He could be a Marcus Epps if you have somebody else next to him that can be your Chauncey Gardner Johnson.

Fourth, slay isn’t awful but he’s definitely not as good as he has been the last two years. Age will do that. Bradberry is what he’s always been. One year good next year lousy. It’s been his history. Got very little quality depth behind them as ringo has shown nothing. Ricks isn’t ready. And jobe is also not ready and likely just a JAG.

lastly, this you can blame on Desai. the rotation at defensive line and defensive tackle is an issue. These guys are playing far too many snaps. Some of it is not on him because the offense can’t keep  themselves on the field. But there’s a good amount of times he is running some of these guys into the ground with a snap counts. One of the greatest things Schwartz was able to do was keep guys fresh throughout the course of the year and sub them in. I don’t think we’re seeing that nearly enough this year. It’s why I think this team looks real good at times rushing the passer and then other times they look like they’re running in cement.

I miss TJ Edwards :smoke:

They've been getting gashed the past few weeks in the run game as well

I think that’s a negative overreaction.  But it was also premature to christen him the best defensive player in the nfl for the next 10 years like everyone in Philly did early on.  He’s not winning DROY and has aggressively cooled off into a starter/rotation player who plays at a high level (as a rookie).

Stop lauding the 2022 Eagles. The 2023 Eagles already have way more impressive wins.

2020 Brady would have torched the 2022 Eagles like Prescott and Mahommes eventually did.

Eli Ricks will be picking the sand out of his vag for weeks...

the problem wasn't the offense.

The 9ers had 4 possessions in the 2nd half and scored 4 TDs.

3 of the TDs were by Deebo Samuel.

Basically,  the problem was Deebo Samuel and the inability of the defense to prevent Deebo Samuel from turning short passes into long TDs.

I'd like to see more Nolan Smith,  and some Ben VanSumeren and Kelee Ringo.

Deebo Samuel seems to do well against better trained veterans who aren't quite as fast and strong as the raw rookies.   Try the raw rookies,  get them less raw,  they have the necessary physical ability to tackle Deebo.

He isn’t putting up the sack numbers, but PFF still gushes over him every week. Overall he’s been excellent. One of the best DTs in the NFL which is absurd for a rookie where it usually takes a 3rd season to stand out. He’s waaaay ahead of the curve already. I can’t imagine where this defense would be without him tbh. Worse than it already is. He’s going to win DROY which as a DT is impressive.

I do agree we’ve seen some real attitude red flags.  The question is if he’s redirectable.

While everyone wants to rip Johnson, it doesn’t seem like Stoutland has a lot of answers for getting the run game going either.

Almost had another Chicago game from last year moment with Hurts today that they thankfully avoided. The frustrating part is that he’s shown that he’s good enough of a pocket quarterback to remove a lot of the unnecessary running from his game. Breaking the pocket to extend plays is fine, but taking these shots isn’t a good recipe. It also feels like that this team just can’t run a scramble drill for their lives when Hurts gets on the run. Every other QB kills us with it, but more times than not Hurts has to burn it out of bounds.

The offense as a whole has been stagnant for the past month. One offensive penalty essentially ends the drive, it feels like they’re only playing to get to 4th and short for the push play, it’s boom or bust with the big play downfield, and even when they see success with quick hitters like they did early today, they abandon it. They need Goedert back badly.

I could have qualified it by ending with "if he doesnt mature".

But if he keeps piling on incidents like the grocery store, and things that will get him fined like the throwing hands at 49ers players today, he wont get a 2nd contract in philly. They historically dont employ those kinds of players.

Good.
