Eagles offense is putting the defense behind the 8 ball.  7 points, 7 points, and 6 points in three halves of football against good teams has them going into halftime down two scores each game.  175 snaps on defense the two games leading up to today, and not much offense again today.  There’s only so long you can get away with playing one half of football and come away with a win.  Today was bound to happen with how poorly the offense has been performing.

Eagles need to get back to what makes them truly successful — run downhill on teams and beat them up in the trenches.  Hurts isn’t making good decisions back there playing a pure pocket QB game.  I said it at halftime; he was standing back there with all the time in the world from the OL, and not finding the open man or making the correct read.  Numerous plays this season where he escapes right, only to run himself out of time and toss the ball away toward the stands.  Challenge the LOS; make the defense think about leaving their man to play the QB run.

Hurts has to make decisions quicker.  Whether he is gonna throw or take off running.

I'm tired of seeing him run around back there all day.  Reminds me of 2021 Hurts.

9ers exposed how soft we are on defense. we have no hard hitters besides our Dline. LBs soft & our DBs are softer then soft. Slay wants to be buddy buddy with everyone & Bradberry is just burnt toast

Not sure they really exposed it. This is the same d that Mac Jones and Sam Howell both chewed up and spit out.

The real question is where do they go from here. They got embarrassed in their house and have a divisional pho up next. Dallas games are always tough and Dak lights up the defense pretty much everytime. Who’s covering Lamb? I think we’re in for a long night.

Oh next week is going to be worse. That match up is not a good one for us. In Dallas it is not going to be pretty.

Why does Hurts bail so much now?

He always has.  The difference now is he’s lobbing balls out of bounds instead of running and taking hits.

They already beat them once and generally you split with divisional games. I am fully expecting a loss and not a pretty one.

nah im talking about physicality wise. we know we suck at covering. but i mean hitting we dont hit at all. plus we are slow as every on defense no speed once so ever.

Earlier in the year and last year he seemed better about it. But he’s reverting back to old Hurts.

A close loss is one thing… I just fear it’ll be worse than a close loss.

Oh yeah. They haven’t been able to tackle for $hit for years. Thst comes from not hitting in practice.

Leonard with a missing spinal column is better than all of the LBs that we have available now.

That may be, but we have more issues than just our LBs and one guy isn’t going to solve them. Our secondary is struggling, our front 4 can’t get home, our run D is a sieve, no one can tackle, and we have a D coordinator who plays a soft, risk averse defensive scheme 90% of the game. Shaq Leonard maybe a slight improvement, but not the answer, and that’s if he can even play anymore.

I can see Dallas pulling out the win but not as bad as today.  I would think it'll be much closer.

Dallas is good but they aren't on SF level.

I'd be surprised if Dallas beat us this bad.

Their LB suck, their S suck, and their CB aren't playing well. Tell me that's a Super Bowl winning team. I don't see how they patch it enough this year. Howie didn't do a good job at all.

Hopefully they have a short memory. But this is the kind of loss that sticks with you and starts a landslide.

I think Dallas are a worse match up for us to be honest given it is in Dallas. They tend to handle us there.

Wow. Look.  3 different Green Bay QBs jumped and threw a ball.  **come smiley**

They didn’t expose anything, anyone who’s watched this defense all season knows they’re just not good. Carved by Sam Howell twice, made Mac Jones look competent, got bailed out by Justin Jefferson fumbling on the goalline, gave up 75 yards in 15 seconds to Dallas in the end to put them in scoring range, got torched by MVS in the KC game which he dropped, left Watson open on a 4th and 25 that he dropped, let Gabe Davis get wide open in OT against Buffalo that Allen misread, they’ve gotten lucky in big spots all year. And SF didn’t let them off the hook today.

They rebound and get the W

Only way they win a SB is with some lucky breaks in the playoffs.

It would be nice to not put the entire offense on Hurts' shoulders. Even the runs are RPOs, so he has to make the right reads.

This is a longer discussion, but the lack of adjustment to the run game this season has been sooo disappointing. We won't run Hurts, but remain in the shotgun.

I’ll believe it when I see it

100% This.

This is not a Super Bowl defense. It’s hardly even a playoff defense.

I have had enough of Ricks in the slot or on the field in general.  He's not ready.  Hell, I would rather Josiah Scott back there.  In the one game he played in, he was at least competent

A good LB with instincts actually helps with a lot of this. Missed Cunningham in the run game. It's literally the only hope they have left of improving the Defense with someone this late in the game.

Oh and fail. Tickets to this game was my birthday gift to schmoopie.

Our last game that we went to?  Planned a whole week around the Miami game in 2019.

Starting tomorrow I’m opening up a GoFundMe or whatever the hell suckers throw their money at these days, and get you all to pay me $100 win insurance NOT to game.
