We are still talented enough to win a Super Bowl. That hasn't changed.

Today sucked.

We're on to Dallas.

You can think what you want. It’s your opinion. I don’t think the Eagles are good enough talent wise on the defensive side to beat San Francisco. I felt that way since San Francisco came out of their bye week healthy. Unless San Francisco has some sort of major injury I just don’t think the Eagles defense can matchup to get enough stops.

You saw today the Eagles on offense basically have to be perfect and score in the 30s to have a chance. San Francisco’s defense has given up 30 points once. So the Eagles on offense can’t turn the ball over and they’re gonna have to score touchdowns on at least five possessions. That is really hard to do against the best defense in the league. Meanwhile, San Francisco is going against a defense that frankly doesn’t have the talent to cover kittle or cmc. So if the pass rush (that looks exhausted playing the snaps they are) isn’t dominant then the niners will continue to move the ball and score. Reason they didn’t in the first quarter was the pass rush. It disappeared as they got deeper into the game.

I think Dallas are a worse match up for us to be honest given it is in Dallas. They tend to handle us there.

Not like SF did today though.

Can Dallas beat us? Sure.  By a 42-19 margin?  Don't see it.

They didn’t expose anything, anyone who’s watched this defense all season knows they’re just not good. Carved by Sam Howell twice, made Mac Jones look competent, got bailed out by Justin Jefferson fumbling on the goalline, gave up 75 yards in 15 seconds to Dallas in the end to put them in scoring range, got torched by MVS in the KC game which he dropped, left Watson open on a 4th and 25 that he dropped, let Gabe Davis get wide open in OT against Buffalo that Allen misread, they’ve gotten lucky in big spots all year. And SF didn’t let them off the hook today.

i just explained what i meant is being physical. if we are going to suck ok but have some pride & be tough & make them feel you. i agree we have all known we are trash at covering. you watch the 9ers just popping our guys & trying to dislodge the ball. we dont have that. imo thats what we need

even some of those old patriots teams their defenses were trash but they had hard hitters & just brought a physical presence.

It would be nice to not put the entire offense on Hurts' shoulders. Even the runs are RPOs, so he has to make the right reads.

This is a longer discussion, but the lack of adjustment to the run game this season has been sooo disappointing. We won't run Hurts, but remain in the shotgun.

I need more under center with the jet sweep action in my life.

Oh I can for sure! At home they are a really good team.

Have you looked at the defense Schwartz is running in Cleveland?

I haven't really studied them but I wonder if he does similar stuff he did here.

Haven’t watched them besides like 2 games this year and not enough to know if he still is doing it consistently.

Oh yeah. They haven’t been able to tackle for $hit for years. Thst comes from not hitting in practice.

you watch the 9er just smacking us every time our guys would catch a ball.

Thing is we don't know what San Fran team we'll see in the playoffs. That's why the Bye is so important. A lot of football left yet to play.

Chiefs losing to the Packers. The NFL can be so weird.

They could. Did you see this defense today? Dak threw for 374 yards last time. What’s he going to do this time? Who’s covering Lamb? At this point they should never run the ball. Just throw it 60 times.

The Eagles can win a shootout against any team in the league.

The 49ers will not play a healthier game this season than they were today. We will get players back. They won't and had the rest advantage.

So yes we can beat SF in a rematch.

Haven’t watched any Cleveland games but they are #1 against the pass so he must be doing something right.

He always has.  The difference now is he’s lobbing balls out of bounds instead of running and taking hits.

Except he is slower now

It’s good to have hope

Seattle almost just beat them with Geno Smith and a terrible defense.

Literally, the thing you’re ****ing about right now, it’s literally the same thing everybody ****ed about with Schwartz and with gannon. At what point in time is it not the defensive coordinator as much as what the eagle philosophical approaches annd organization on defense?

how many times did you hear all of us **** about giving 8 yards of cushion with Jim Schwartz and Jonathan gannon? Literally  every single time we played a good team. This is the same thing that being said since 2016.

so this has been an issue form Schwartz to Gannon to now desai. We can fire desai but guess what? You’re going to get the same thing because that’s what the Eagles want to do.

3rd worst on 3rd down. 4th worst on red zone. Tied for 9 worth turnovers forced. 3rd worst for penalties. Worst for first downs given.

I don’t care if they fire someone every year. If they put up the numbers this guy is, and letting teams walk all over him like he is, fire him, them, and everyone til we find someone who’s able to do what he’s asked, while pushing the envelop to have a respectable defense.

Why i said if Sf stays healthy i don’t see us matching up well defensively. If they have injuries it’s the ultimate equalizer. That said not sure how we come out of the next 2 games. Dallas is playing well but has the same issues we have defensively. And we frankly haven’t played seattle well in what feels like forever

Chiefs aren’t the team they were. Every team is beatable this year.

A good LB with instincts actually helps with a lot of this. Missed Cunningham in the run game. It's literally the only hope they have left of improving the Defense with someone this late in the game.

That’s true, but I believe we’re just going to have to rely on our offense (similar to KC last year) to make up for our lack of D. This late in the season, even if Leonard is an improvement, it’s not going to fix the D’s whole issues. The coaches/coordinators need to step up as well and maybe bringing in Reich for some quality control on Off. could help more.

Wasn’t that in Seattle?

One thing I'm glad I don't have to hear this week is ".... and we didn't even play our best game yet."

It's game #13 next week. If you haven't played your best game by now you aren't going to. They are what they are at this point. They really aren't a team that seems to make any significant changes on anything, ever. The last significant change they made was 2021 when Sirianni gave up play calling and they basically became a running offense that only threw when they had to. Since then though they're a "We're gonna do what we do" type of team for better or for worse. This year it's going to be much harder to get away with it. There has to be some type of adjustment on defense. They can't go into Dallas next week doing the same crap that got this defense torched the last couple games and against Dallas last time.

Myles Garrett is a beast and they have a great line. However they also got the luxury this year of facing teams like the bengals with burrow still injured, Steelers twice, the titans and the cardinals when they traded dobbs and started a rookie in tune.

Both teams are certainly beatable but I could definitely see them losing both.

That physicality takes a toll even when they're dishing it out. It's not sustainable. Can't let them get the bye.

If they lose by 3 TDs or more again in Dallas then it's season over.

But I don't see it happening.  Again, Dallas isn't as good as SF.
