Myles Garrett is a beast and they have a great line. However they also got the luxury this year of facing teams like the bengals without burrow, Steelers twice, the titans and the cardinals when they traded dobbs and started a rookie in tune.

Still gotta stop them. Mac Jones and Sam Howell torched this defense, not sure they’d torch Cleveland.

i just explained what i meant is being physical. if we are going to suck ok but have some pride & be tough & make them feel you. i agree we have all known we are trash at covering. you watch the 9ers just popping our guys & trying to dislodge the ball. we dont have that. imo thats what we need

even some of those old patriots teams their defenses were trash but they had hard hitters & just brought a physical presence.

I agree. We have no heart on this defense. Everyone is just running around hoping to get close enough to someone and puts an arm out. There’s too much wide open specs in this scheme to force bang bang hard hits however. They don’t react until the ball is caught and by then you’re just begging to get someone on the ground. It’s disgusting to watch.

That’s true, but I believe we’re just going to have to rely on our offense (similar to KC last year) to make up for our lack of D. This late in the season, even if Leonard is an improvement, it’s not going to fix the D’s whole issues. The coaches/coordinators need to step up as well and maybe bringing in Reich for some quality control on Off. could help more.

I need Siri to stop designing the plays... lets start there

The Eagles can win a shootout against any team in the league.

The 49ers will not play a healthier game this season than they were today. We will get players back. They won't and had the rest advantage.

So yes we can beat SF in a rematch.

Howie needs to do his job and get Ertz and SL. And Frank to consult.

One thing I'm glad I don't have to hear this week is ".... and we didn't even play our best game yet."

It's game #13 next week. If you haven't played your best game by now you aren't going to. They are what they are at this point. They really aren't a team that seems to make any significant changes on anything, ever. The last significant change they made was 2021 when Sirianni gave up play calling and they basically became a running offense that only threw when they had to. Since then though they're a "We're gonna do what we do" type of team for better or for worse. This year it's going to be much harder to get away with it. There has to be some type of adjustment on defense. They can't go into Dallas next week doing the same crap that got this defense torched the last couple games and against Dallas last time.

The only reason I’ll give Desai a pass is because he just doesn’t have the horses on defense. Secondary is awful and has been banged up all year and all of the linebackers are JAGs. That’ll be addressed in the offseason.

There really isn’t an excuse for the offensive performance in the first half we’ve seen the past four games. Goedert being out shouldn’t be an excuse.

Wasn’t that in Seattle?

Nope.

If they lose by 3 TDs or more again in Dallas then it's season over.

But I don't see it happening.  Again, Dallas isn't as good as SF.

I can see it. After this week spirits might be down.

The big offensive button that Sirianni hasn't really pressed is the QB run game.

Yes we run QB draws, but we haven't really fully exploited that. I get it as we want Jalen to ne healthy the rest of the way.

I didn’t watch the game so I don’t remember lol

Where the hell is Nolan Smith?  A first round pick who cannot earn a starting spot on a poor defense. Is it next year or bust category for Smith?

Just a reminder...

Lose to Dallas and then win out, we win the division.

1) Same H2H (1-1)
2) Same division record (5-1)
3) Same common opponents (10-2)
4) Eagles have better conference record (10-2 v 9-3)

I'd actually prefer the #2 seed.  Likely host the Vikings, Rams, Seahawks, or Packers in the wild card round.  Then host the Lions in the Divisional round, assuming a) they lose one of their games @Min, @Dal, or Min, and b) Dallas beats the #4 seeded NFC south winner.  Even if we were the #3 seed, going to Detroit wouldn't be a serious obstacle, IMO.  Let the Niners and Cowboys play each other in the Divisional round.  We'd only have one difficult game in the conference playoffs.  Yes...a lot can still go wrong.

Lol seriously? Hurts ran it like 9 times in the first half and the ba is ran it the same amount.

Seattle almost just beat them with Geno Smith and a terrible defense.

These are facts. While missing their RB1 as well.

Doesn’t points factor in somewhere?

He doesn't play off-ball LB.  Saw a couple flashes today in limited snaps.

Maybe.. but this coaching staff doesn’t do wake up calls.

Nah we need the bye. Only #1 seed gets the bye

Reich will straighten them out. And I’m glad you singled out Siri cause when it comes down to it, it’s really his offense. Sometimes you need a former NFL QB to tell a former Division 3 WR how to run a balanced offense and use the talent you have to their full potential.

Haven’t really seen much from him. With as bad as the linebackers have been it’s weird not to see him.

Neither of them move the needle sorry. Maybe Reich but not if he’s not calling plays.

Exactly, but i mean you look at those Deebo runs up the gut dudes didnt want no piece of that. like we straight up look like cowards. you let them come in here body slam our dudes. then let them call one of your teammates trash(whether he is or not lol). still stand up & have your teammates back. then you have Nick coming out saying we were showing the team clips of them trash talking. then we proceed to come out & play like a bunch of pansies.

this game in general just left a bad taste in my mouth.
