I'm still a believer on Desai long term. He tries stuff and will only get better.

You can call plays and make changes within a scheme. We see him mixing it up, everything he calls doesn’t make sense though lol

Same with the offense. Is our Philosophy  all of a sudden abandon the run, unless it’s by the QB? or does the offensive coordinator get blame for calling bad games? Or is he absolved as well becusse Goedert has been hurt and Quez was hurt and we lost Seumalo and Lane has been injured and Hurts has a knee issue again?

You are also complaining about a coordinator after 13 games of his first year here with a deficit of talent and had injuries throughout the year. like he should be Jim johnson after 13 games with a defense that has a ton of holes created by our offense moves and injuries. lol

I’m guessing he’s doing those things to try just about anything to get a stop or turnover because they’re not talented enough to do what he really wants to do.

Brian Johnson has the talent to make that offense work and be top 5. There’s no excuse for it not to be especially with sirianni being an offensive HC working with him. If you’re gonna sit there and look at that Defense and tell me if he just simply tries this and that it’s going to magically fix the 1/3 of the defense that shouldn’t be starting in the nfl or lack of playmakers in the back 7 then i don’t know what to tell you. I’m more willing to give desai more time cause it’s obvious our linebackers are bad, our slot corner should be retired and our safeties aren’t good enough. Also I’d add Carter 0.5 sacks in 5 games. Sweat 0 sacks in 3 games. run defense has been porous since the bye due to poor tackling and shedding blocks and guys rushing the passer have no clue about containment.

I can’t really blame Howie as much this off-season because they didn’t have the money to go out and do it with signing hurts to an extension We all knew they were going to have to go cost cutting measures because they didn’t have the cap space this year. It’s why we had to decide on bradberry or CJGJ. We all knew they were gonna take a step back in 2023 on defense. Hopefully by 2024 and 2025 they can clear some cap space to go out there and fix parts of their defense so that they could be better off. And also draft some guys on the back 7 and have success.

Bradberry accepted the offer when the Eagles didn’t think he would, and right at the same time CGJ and his agent were playing hardball.  Giving both Bradberry and Slay money to come back was a risk for sure with both being over 30, but the Eagles were just coming off a Super Bowl berth, so Howie considered it a risk worth taking.

That risk hasn’t paid dividends yet as neither has played great this season, but picking Nolan Smith at #30 instead of a talented DB prospect is definitely another risk.  The Eagles have to invest in a younger secondary soon, and it remains to be seen if Nolan Smith can be an effective EDGE.  I saw his NFL future more as a hybrid off-ball LB, personally.  Time will tell

i want to but damn these last 3-4 weeks has been rough. we can keep letting teams basically be 85% on 3rd down. & giving up 3rd & forevers. if that is what you mean by trying stuff then please stop trying stuff.

They knew they could only afford bradberry or CJGJ. They went bradberry when CJGJ and his agent thought they were worth more. They probably should’ve pivoted off of slay. He’s not been bad. He’s also not been what he was 2021 and 2022. And stuck with him and bradberry for at least another.

imo i think people had too high of expectations for brown and smith as rookies. I think both were longer term solutions to future problems. Issue is they need defensive guys that can play and contribute now. Neither right now can do that consistently.

lmao they call that Mahomes but didnt call it for Jalen absolute BS

Of course Mahomes gets that flag. Even when he is inbounds

Desai is trying to make chicken salad out of chicken crap.  You could see his bewilderment when Morrow buzzed out to the flat as McCaffrey ran past them.

That being said, this team isn't fast enough nor tackle well enough to play this soft coverage, rally to the ball defense.  At some point, they are going to have to press the issue (literally and figuratively).  If they get beat deep, so be it.

What is Dom’s job? He’s not a player. He’s not a coach. If he’s security then stand on the back of the sideline and watch the crowd to make sure no one jumps the rail. He initiated contact with Greenlaw.

I was wondering why he was so close to the game. I honestly thought for a minute maybe he’s there for personal protection of the head coach? Never seen anything like that.

Hurts is RoboCop

He was standing on the sidelines, and Greenlaw came to him.  He wasn't on the field.

He and the Eagles will pay a price.  He crossed the line.

Wow.  Valdes Scantling just got mugged and no flag.

Green Bay gets the makeup call.

Personal protection from what? There’s 100 other people on the sideline if some drunk fan runs on the field. He’s head of security for the team and mainly an outside the facility role to make sure no one gets into trouble. No idea why he needs to be on Sirianni’s hip like he’s Biden.

For all the talk about Nakobe Dean being too small to play NFL LB, I frankly have more concerns about Nolan Smith’s size to be a really good EDGE.  I’ve been wrong many times before, but he’s not where I would have gone with that pick.  I liked Drew Sanders better, who went #67 to DEN, and I think both guys have similar trajectories as fast LBs who can pressure the QB in spots.

AJ called mauled all.game long and they didn't call it.  This after the refs basically walked the Cowboys down the field with tricky tack calls on Thursday.  Have some fn consistently

He got in the middle of the scuffle to break it up, reached over the refs to push Greenlaw back, and then Greenlaw put his hand in his face.

He was trying to break up the fight on the sidelines and Greenlaw went up to him.

No one to check down to. We have two good pass catching RBs and I believe they were not part of the playbook (I’ll have to watch the replays) when Hurts had all that time cause he’s waiting for his WRs to get open with nothing to check down to.
*just to note; no Goedert was a big factor too.

Britain Covey is a slot receiver who also ran a lot in college and high school. He's someone who can catch a close pass, and then theoretically make good yards after catch,  he's a good punt returner,  transfer those skills to the slot and additional runner.     He's 3rd in the NFL in yards per punt return.   A receiver, rusher and passer in college.  there's a possibility he makes big gains by running around the defense the way he does punt coverage.

Both SF CBs can be called with DPI every single play.  The Niners know the refs can’t flag every play, so they have their CBs play physical all game and hope it comes out as a net positive.

Man IDK…like I said I’ve never seen anything like it, I was simply trying to come up with a reason why he’s right there in the action. Obviously he needs to be at the tunnel or something.

And Dom DiSandro may have lost his job.  League gonna be heavy on him getting in Greenlaws face like that.  Total curb stomp today.  Hope it leads to an understanding that with our D we have to be a ball control offense and our RBs have to have more than 9 carries combined in a game.

I’ll bet you $10,000 that DiSandro won’t lose his job.

i wish they would watch our fouls on replay lmao
