He was trying to break up the fight on the sidelines and Greenlaw went up to him.

Dom was too close to the action, but Greenlaw as a player cannot throw a punch at a non-uniform team personnel.  Both guys were somewhat in the wrong, but Greenlaw is the one who should get supplemental discipline from the league — but he won’t.

Desai is trying to make chicken salad out of chicken crap.  You could see his bewilderment when Morrow buzzed out to the flat as McCaffrey ran past them.

That being said, this team isn't fast enough nor tackle well enough to play this soft coverage, rally to the ball defense.  At some point, they are going to have to press the issue (literally and figuratively).  If they get beat deep, so be it.

Desai needs to figure something out to at least have the defense be competent. I don’t know if he’s gonna be good or not down the road, but right now you are getting 2021 vibes from the defense which isn’t that far off as they have literally the same issues and voids of talent.

that said, the things he’s doing are the exact things Jonathan gannon did. The things that Jim Schwartz didnwith his corners. So going all the way back to 2016 when Howie Roseman got back in the power, we are doing some of the same things we’ve wanted to do since that time. So fire Desai. I’d bet a lot of money they hire someone to do the same thing and people will come on here and complain about the same thing. So go through 10, 20 and heck 100 DCs but until the eagles move away from their defensive philosophy as an organization that’s the type of DC you are gonna get

Wow the Chiefs were royally screwed on that play

I don’t know what is up with the ref commentary this season where the commentary team and the on-air ref stooge blatantly try to create the narrative of a missed call. It was a Hail Mary play, you’re allowed to touch the receiver, there was nothing there. They framed it as KC getting shafted because the DB touched Kelce’s back.

For all the talk about Nakobe Dean being too small to play NFL LB, I frankly have more concerns about Nolan Smith’s size to be a really good EDGE.  I’ve been wrong many times before, but he’s not where I would have gone with that pick.  I liked Drew Sanders better, who went #67 to DEN, and I think both guys have similar trajectories as fast LBs who can pressure the QB in spots.

I liked smith. And i figured they’d take him if he was there. Heck if they couldn’t get Carter i don’t think it was out of the realm they take him way earlier. I thought they should’ve went corner if they didn’t get Carter.

don’t know what smith is  had some flashes today so maybe he turns the corner.

They need to get younger and more athletic at corner. Just relying on jobe, ringo as a 4th and ricks isn’t a good long term solution to when bradberry and slay are done.

I think after the Dallas game on Thursday the nfl told the refs to chill out throwing flags, but then the refs don’t even call the blatant crap like that PI

I’ll bet you $10,000 that DiSandro won’t lose his job.

Might not lose his job but punishment coming.

if you can get interference calls on Hail Mary plays,  there should be a lot more Hail Mary plays,  and you'd put your tall DEs who can jump out there.

From who?  If the league fines him (I highly doubt it) I can just about guarantee the Eagles brass will cover the fine.

Can Jalen find another word than standard please. Standard standard standard.

They said that shouldn't have been a flag because it was a hail mary play. The missed flag was before the hail mary

I agree.  No excuse.  They need to be better.

But as they say this game isn't about the X's and O's but the Larrys and Joes.  Morrow, Ellis, Ricks etc aren't those guys.

lol what?

Yep.  He simply can't do what he did.  He was right in the fray talking crap.  Won't be overlooked.

Watching this defense is really starting to sap the enjoyment out of watching this team every week, which sucks. I still enjoy watching football, but each week is half fun, half total frustration and exasperation. They just aren't a fun unit to watch play. It really makes half of the weekly watching experience a total chore.

crap man, they don't even force any turnovers. If you're going to get gashed, at least be a boom or bust defense that gets some takeaways. Every week it's like having a tasty meal you're a fan of with a side of something you have to eat that makes you vomit.

Eagles and Chiefs both scored 19 points.  The NFC Wild Card Race is the battle to 9-10 wins.  Packers are now the 7th Seed based on Conference record with that Win.  There's 4 6-6 Teams.    Eagles lost ground today but are still 1 game up on San Fran, Lions and The Boys.  The loss was hard but the Eagles had a two game cushion.  They must take care of Dallas next.

That happens every single game, by personnel on every NFL team.  The difference this time is that a player decided to push a non-uniformed person in the face - drawing attention to it.

Do you watch NFL games?

About time. They got several calls on that same drive alone and a free timeout

I mean why not try when they are getting smoked that much. Ringo and Van can't be that much worse either ad at least it would give them experience. Hell, I'm fine with Suh coming back for depth. Just don't keep trying the same things that aren't working.

I wouldn’t call that a punch, it looked like he was trying to poke his face or shove him away, I haven’t watched it again but it didn’t look like a closed fist but idk.

I bet he’ll never be that close to the sideline again during a game.

Fine.  Revoke field access privileges. Suspension.  Not sure, but no doubt the 49ers and the NFLPA will be pressing hard for punishment.   He got close enough and said enough to get a punch thrown at him.  If it's a player, no problem, even a coach, but the teams off field security director?  Problematic.

Of course I don't.

I didn't watch the PC. Did Nick say why Dom was asked to leave?

Just because Greenlaw lost his temper and struck him?  Nope.  That's dumb.  Dom will be back on the sideline where he is always is next week.

Both SF CBs can be called with DPI every single play.  The Niners know the refs can’t flag every play, so they have their CBs play physical all game and hope it comes out as a net positive.

Reminded me of the NFCCG against the Panthers in '03.
