Fine.  Revoke field access privileges. Suspension.  Not sure, but no doubt the 49ers and the NFLPA will be pressing hard for punishment.   He got close enough and said enough to get a punch thrown at him.  If it's a player, no problem, even a coach, but the teams off field security director?  Problematic.

I doubt it.  Greenlaw is the who crossed the line, making contact with DiSandro’s face. If the league tries to punish DiSandro, Greenlaw‘s punishment will be that much worse and both the 49ers and the NFLPA know that.

Watching this defense is really starting to sap the enjoyment out of watching this team every week, which sucks. I still enjoy watching football, but each week is half fun, half total frustration and exasperation. They just aren't a fun unit to watch play. It really makes half of the weekly watching experience a total chore.

crap man, they don't even force any turnovers. If you're going to get gashed, at least be a boom or bust defense that gets some takeaways. Every week it's like having a tasty meal you're a fan of with a side of something you have to eat that makes you vomit.

They’re a dreadful unit. It’s not necessarily them even giving up yards and points that concerns me as much as when they do it. They don’t seize any momentum shifting points of the game, they give up points before every half, they don’t hold teams to field goals in the red zone, they give up third and longs, they leave the opposing team’s best players wide open, they can’t finish sacks, and they can’t play complementary football when the offense goes into the tank. They’re just abysmal and have been for a majority of the season. Today didn’t expose or tell us anything that we haven’t known. They’re just a bad unit that got lucky in the Dallas, KC, and Buffalo games. Can also make a case for the same against New England, Washington, and Minnesota. Also had a bunch of calls go their way against Miami. Eventually they were going to run into a team that didn’t let them off the hook and today was that day.

I just went and watched it again, Dom stepped towards both players to get between them and pushed Greenlaw first. If he isn’t there it never happens to begin with. Greenlaw was pointing his finger trying to get at Smith, it was not a punch.

Just warn them both and let it go.

Just because Greenlaw lost his temper and struck him?  Nope.  That's dumb.  Dom will be back on the sideline where he is always is next week.

They are saying he made contact trying to separate them.

He definitely did…and he stepped towards Greenlaw to do it.

I don't know.  Dom is not supposed to be anywhere near the sideline.  I think something comes down.  We shall see.

I agree.  No excuse.  They need to be better.

But as they say this game isn't about the X's and O's but the Larrys and Joes.  Morrow, Ellis, Ricks etc aren't those guys.

Desai has flaws and needs to be better. Particularly on third down and third and long. Way too many times guys are blowing coverages or giving up big plays on 3rd and forever.  I have no clue if he is the answer going forward. he has a lot to work on going year one to year two

However, I think the bigger picture here is the Eagles lack talent on defense at certain positions to consistently make life hard on a SF or Dallas or Buffalo. Have guys like ringo, smith and brown who you hope fill some of those down the road but clearly not ready yet. The fact we are relying on Roby, morrow, Ellis, ricks and Cunningham to play significant snaps is a massive issue in terms of talent. Add on sweat hasnt had a sack in 3 weeks. Carter has 0 in 3 weeks.  Brandon graham is second on the eagles in sacks the last 4 weeks with 2.5. Eagles have 4 sacks in 3 weeks. Not good enough on defense when you face SF, BUF and KC. You need those negative plays. Also not sure i can blame Desai for our poor run defense the last 3 weeks. Guys not wrapping up very well

Yeah, but that's pretty normal

Yep. The refs had it under control and were separating Greenlaw. Dom steps in and puts his hands on Greenlaw trying to push him back and then Greenlaw put his hand in his face in retaliation. Again, if you’re not a player or coach you have no business being there. If you want to follow Nick into the tunnel when he’s running of the field or shadow a player if he’s at some off the field event, fine. But his presence isn’t needed on an NFL sideline. If some meathead security guy put their hands on Graham or Cox we’d all be complaining about the same thing.

AZ and Giants are 3 free wins.

@Dallas will probably be SF all over again and Seattle will be a 50/50 toss up.  They always are rough for us.

I don’t know about that. From a standpoint that we are the better team than AZ and the Giants sure, but with the defense being this bad I’m not confident there are 3 free wins. If the offense turns the ball over etc. like in the Jets game…

Even though we are 10-2 and have beaten some quality teams, I’m not very confident that this defense can lock down anyone right now - not even DeVito. That unit hasn’t had instilled any confidence with their play the entire year and it’s the Achilles heel of this team.

Hope it isn't the 49ers with his CA connection

Is Maddox done for the regular season or year? Doesn’t matter. Our defense is a clown show. Slay/Bradberry are terrible. Byard has made one play. And Blankenship is just a blank right now. LB is non existent. Where is Jalen Carter? He’s probably not even DROY candidate anymore.

Feel like him and Goedert don’t get along

I said after the first season that Dallas Goedert was here, I was told that Zach Ertz was not happy they drafted Dallas Goedert and didn’t embrace goedert. I posted it on here and I got crap for it. Have a friend who played with Dallas at SDSU and is still close with him. I don’t know where the relationship is now but after the first year Dallas felt like ertz didnt care for him.

This place is so lovely after a loss 😅.  Luckily, we havent had to endure too many the past couple of years.

Yes, the Eagles looked like crap today.  Yes, they need to make improvements because there are definitely big issues on both sides of the ball.

But, it was one game against a rested, healthy team that had played 2 games in 10 days vs a beat up team that had played 3 games in 13 days (one in overtime).  And now they have to play Dallas on 10 days rest.  It doesn't get easier.

Hopefully, the FO will give them support in Suh and Ertz.  And, hopefully, the coordinators will make some changes to their game plans.

I still have faith in the leaders of this team and in Hurts to get things right.  Ride or die, bleed green til I die.  Now, let's go beat Dallas and take the division.

This is the first I’ve seen that DAL was even looking into him. They’re fine at TE with Ferg, Schoon, and McKeon…Hendershot is on IR done for the year I believe.

The biggest punch in the gut, well maybe, is letting the guy who talked trash all off-season and this week grave his best career game yet

This wasn’t the most endorsing interview either.

I wondered at the beginning of the year but why not try Nolan Smith at linebacker?

They should try to bring him back.  After tonight’s debacle, we could use another legitimate receiving option.

Ertz may be passed his prime but he’s still a great route runner who will command respect from opponents’ defenses - allowing other receivers to get open; also gives us opportunities to use some 2 TE sets once Goedert gets back.

Frankly, I don't care if Dallas likes Ertz or Ertz like Dallas.  If it makes this team better, then they need make the move.  Ertz is a better player than Stoll, Calcaterra and Julio Jones.  Simple as that.

I really think the struggles are mainly because of the 2 new coordinators.

SB doesn't seem likely this year.  Let's just be real.  I think just like year 1 with Gannon and Steichen they struggled.  They did find something that worked, running the ball, and rode it as much as they could.  But in year 2 with those guys they were much improved.  The pass game and defense improved.  Now they also added AJ and a few guys on defense too.  I feel that could be a similar situation and they would be much improved in 2024 in year 2 with Desai and BJ.  This is assuming they improve the back 7 for Desai of course.

But for this year I just don't see.  Maybe win a playoff game but that's it.

Issue here is next year isn’t looking too peachy with our AARP secondary and lack of cap space.
