I think Aiyuk is a top 15 receiver in the league.

The dude didn't even have 50 yards. They killed the Eagles with those swing passes and screens. The defense couldn't get off blocks or make tackles to save their lives.

Hilarious seeing the reactions for a 10-2 team

For two seasons, we haven’t been a team that schemes the hell out of you on offense. We rely on our stars beating your guys because they’re just better. Overall, it’s worked well, but we haven’t had a lot of answers when the stars aren’t playing like stars.

AJ and Devonte had good games on paper last night.

The regression is getting out of hand. I'm all for giving Desai a chance, but the glaring flaws in the scheme are being exploited on an almost weekly basis now.

The defensive line deserves way more flak than Slay and Bradberry. The corners were fine. The defensive line is the one area that had a major advantage and didn't exploit it. The Eagles are not going to beat good teams if their defensive line has zero impact through 3 quarters.

Well, that royally sucked. No other way around it, we just got hammered. It's concerning we got killed like that and we didn't turn the ball over, and the offense moved the ball OK. Here are some takeaways:

1. 3 games in 13 days, and the defense played over 90 snaps against the Bills. The 49ers were coming off the mini-bye. It completely showed. The defense came out on fire, and then the whole game turned when they converted 2nd and 16 (I think it was 16) on the 3rd drive with a nice 2nd down play and then picked up the 3rd. The defense was clearly gassed, but 14 points in the 1st half wasn't a catastrophe. Then the 2nd half happened...

2. This is likely related to #1, but I haven't seen us be that awful at tackling in a long time. Who knew Zach Cunningham was the lynchpin for this whole defense? The 49ers scores in the 2nd half (Deebo catch with the missed hold on Reed, Deebo run, Deebo screen) were all plays where we took bad angles, missed tackles, etc. The defense wasn't beaten over the top, they were run through.

3. Morrow came back to earth hard and Ellis just isn't an NFL LB. We really need Leonard...

4. I don't even think Slay and Bradberry got burned in coverage really. Desai played his soft crap, and we just couldn't tackle anyone.

5. The pass rush and run defense evaporated in the 2nd half.

6. Some good news -- Lane is clearly healthy and the O-line played a solid game in pass protection.

7. Hurts just can't take those sacks. We need him to take check downs or throw it away.

8. More good news -- Mann as awesome (yeah, I'm reaching).

It was one game. Need to flush it and move on.

Good breakdown. I still don't understand how BJ doesn't go back to slants when they were killing the 49ers. He seems to do that crap so often. Swift is gashing a team? Bench his ass.

I think it has more to do with how they lost.  Getting blown out, at home, at this point in the season, is concerning for most.

Have you seen the LBs tackle? That's not on the coaches. Personnel just sucks. Sad but true

It's amazing how they go from almost record setting to blah in one year. I'd bring back Suh for DT depth or Carter and Davis are going to burn out as well.

D. Taylor - bust

N. Dean - bust

These two picks and the subsequent moves to fix this mess have really handicapped this defense. The fault lies 100% with Howie. I think it is the perfect example of the Eagles trying to get cute in the draft, thinking they are the smarter than everyone else.

Yeah, if you want to be the VIkings from last year then congrats on the record win. It's hilarious anyone could watch yesterday and not think there are serious holes in the boat they may not be able to overcome if luck isn't going their way. But yeah throw out the 10-2 record and ignore the stat that the defense is bottom of the league.

Our back 7 isn’t particularly physical or tough. Cunningham is tough, but has no finesse at all. Reed is tough. Brown is tough but has no idea what he’s doing. Slay and Bradberry are finesse by CB standards. Morrow is soft for a LB.

The whole back 7 could not wrap up when they made tackles.  They seem to alway go for the hit rather than wrapping up the opposing players.  Some of it probably was fatigue but you can't run the kind of defense they did and not make the tackles.  I am not sure how much of this to put on the defensive coordinator from a scheme standpoint but the lack of fundamentals is problematic.  It's the same thing with defending bunch and stacked receivers.  They always get  open against us.  I don't think that's a talent issue.  There's a coaching deficiency in the secondary.

For Taylor maybe.  But just about everyone was excited about the Dean pick.  That wasn’t them trying to be "cute”, imo.

Davis, Carter and Cox are playing too many snaps.  It is well past Suh season.  Bring him to eat up some snaps, get MarlonT off the field and allow Williams to slide out to DE to help in the rotation. I still don't know why we haven't signed him

Nah... I think the poor play from the LBs was the bigger factor in this one. Deebo, Mcaffrey, and Kittle ate them alive

How has Leonard still not make a decision? Is he my wife choosing take out?

Tackling is part of it, but you don't end up 29th in pts allowed per drive just because you're missing tackles. The problem is far more systemic than poor tackling. Believe me, I really wish it were that simple and easily fixed, but it's just not.

I hated the pick - too small and injury prone.

No one thought the Eagles would be in this position. They are. Just sucks that the defense is in a rebuild. Offense needs to carry them as that's where all of the talent is

Exactly

Gee, imagine using motion to make the defense think and get the match up the offense wants?  Wild stuff.

Exactly, the biggest plus to using motion is to determine if the D is in man or zone and should allow the QB to check to a play that counters the defensive scheme, getting them into a better route combination if necessary.

$100 says he will be in Dallas on Sunday night

He's probably weighing a real chance at a SB with Dallas, who won't be inclined to overpay now that they look like the best team in the NFCE, and the Eagles who probably just upped their offer of $$ and playing time commitments in the deal after last night.

Lol before it was a win is a win but now that we lost it's the world is ending
