You didn't watch that very closely.  Carroll and the other personnel on the sidelines were restraining the Seahawks player (looked like Metcalf), not interacting with the opposition, and you'll also note there are no officials in the middle there that anyone would be reaching over to get involved.  Dom reached through/over an official to make contact.   He was wrong.   It's ok to say that.  He doesn't need to be defended.  His heart might have been in the right place, but his hands weren't.

It shouldn’t be a big deal.  If you think DiSandro was wrong and you’re defending the Seahawks scuffle then you might want to take a look at that video again.  There were at least 2-3 non Seahawks players (Seahawks personnel) 2 wearing white shirts shoving Patriots players back.  And there were refs involved, and they were in middle of it as well.

If the league comes down on this, they need to come up with rules for everyone equally.  If they don’t want non-coaching personnel that close to the sidelines, then setup a rule to have them a few yards back.  But to punish DiSandro for basically breaking up a sideline scuffle, when he was allowed to be there, when he was the one who was hit in the face,  would be ridiculous, imo.

** A positive is that he could be an upgrade for the Eagles in coverage, as his 84.8 coverage grade by PFF is the best of his career and would make him a top-five coverage linebacker in the NFL this season. Cunningham is currently ranked 21st.

Let's go

Yea Pete Carroll is pushing his players back. Notice how the majority of the time his back is turned to the Patriots players. There's also like close to 40 people crammed together. Completely different than Dom walking up to two players and 2 refs and shoving an opposing player.

It’s even worse.  There were at least 3 Seahawks personnel pushing Patriots players back.  But it was a non story because the cameras didn’t have closeups of them getting hit in the face and didn’t have a back story of "Big Dom”.

I wonder if Dom is gonna pick him up

Not unless he's already signed and is officially a bird. Too risky.

F Goedert.  This isn't a high school popularity contest.  If Ertz makes this team better, then the Eagles need to make the move.  And Ertz is definitely a better option than Stoll, Calcaterra and the useless Julio Jones.  Pretty simple calculation if you in this to win games

Damn right. AO can't even get on the damn field over them. If Ertz can find the open spot a few times a game that's an impact. The others give them nothing at all. He needs to STFU if true.

Two back surgeries mean that while the calendar says 28, the reality of his body might be closer to 48.   Still... we are talking about him bumping Christian Ellis for PT.  Not a big loss there.   And if we find he's truly washed... what have we lost?

Exactly. Low risk, potentially high reward.

We got Shaq Barrett too??!!

Yeah, for a choke slam!

After the Greenwall suplex.  WWE in full effect!

Now go get Ertz. If nothing else, to keep him away from the competition. But he's better than Calcaterra for sure.

So does he play Sunday night vs the Cowboys?

Man I hope so

Oh thank god

It just occurred to me that four of the five opening-day starters in the middle of the secondary were out yesterday.  (Dean, Cunningham, Maddox, Evans)

We are ridiculously vulnerable there.

Yeah, he was... and he was in the middle of HIS GUYS trying to hold them back.  Not a single person from the Seattle side gave a shove to the Patriots player, and none of them reached over/around an official to do it.

Watch it again.  I’m not going to make still shots but there was plenty of shoving from non Seahawks players against Patriots players.

Well, almost by default he is an upgrade over Morrow yesterday. Wouldn't be shocked to see him and Cunningham as the starters. Hope he has something left.

Isn't pass coverage the whole reason his playing time decreased in Indy?

The lowest completion percentage during that four-year stretch was 70.5%. He also allowed 9 touchdowns over that span, and opposing receivers averaged 7 yards per target. That’s not abysmal by linebacker standards, but it shows that he wasn’t a lockdown defender against the pass.

His stats in nine games the Colts in 2023 show what happens when he stops pulling down interception. Over his limited time in 2022 and 2023, he allowed 22 catches, four touchdowns and 160 yards after the catch. The opposing QB rating skyrocketed into the high 90s, and his five missed tackles in 2023 weren’t helping, either.

There aren't enough available targets to make Philly attractive to Ertz.

Hmmm… would Ertz be more helpful as a starter on BAL (vs SF) or the limited targets here… probably here.

In fairness evans should’ve been expected to be hurt. He’s been hurt his entire career. And same for maddox. Really Dean getting hurt continuously and not playing well hurts. Hopefully learning from Cunningham and Leonard helps

I've watched it, I've paused it.  And I saw Seahawks officials grabbing the outstretched arms of the Seahawks players.  Not a single one was squared up on a Patriots players and gave a shove.  Not one.   And the officials were on the OUTSIDE of it, and by the time it was broken up, they finally got themselves over there to keep it from flaring back up.  But, it was broken up by the Seahawks players/personnel intervening with their own guys, and the Patriots players grabbing their guys.

And there is a rule.   NO ONE from the coaching staff, training staff or anyone else is supposed to be on the white paint.  That's the officials' area to roam the sidelines without being on the field.  Dom stepped into the white zone, on top of everything else.  HE crossed the line.  And Dom isn't needed to break up the scuffle, and the scuffle was mostly dying down when he intervened.  He was wrong - 100% and unequivocally.  There's no defense for it.  He was wrong.  He may not have been trying to escalate things, but the way he intervened he absolutely did.   Dom was wrong and we don't need to defend him because he's an Eagles' guy.  We can be objective and say he was wrong.

Whatever. Morrow gave up almost that much YAC yardage just yesterday.

UPGRADE

Hopefully that's not the only time we beat the Cowboys this week

Any word on Dean's injury and the length?

Of all the names still floated, Reich is the one that matters most.

We’ll have to agree to disagree.

Goedert didn't say he doesn't want him, why are you listening to the troll?  He was asked about it and said you don't see that happen very often (Ertz being released) and said it's "interesting, we'll see what happens and I wish the best for him."
