Yes, of course.  But for some reason they are rotating him out and bringing in Ricks. Ricks was targeted almost every time he was on the field with great success for the Niners of course

Point blank: We need players on the field who know what the hell they’re doing. Ricks has no idea. He guesses and grabs. He’s a free space.

Tbh the whole situation is avoidable if we quit just relying on maddox to stay healthy. He reminds me of Jason verrett. He was always great when he played. problem was he get hurt literally every single year. Avoid the situation entirely.

When they use 12 personnel with Stoll, the defense knows he's not getting the ball and he's there to block.

If they were to mix in a little bit of Ertz in 12, they can have the defense with another receiving threat to worry about.  If the defense is covering Smith, Brown and Goedert and they see Stoll they're not worried about him catching a pass.  If they see Ertz, maybe that's a thought.  Maybe if everyone else covered Ertz finds himself open.

Stoll has 7 targets this year, including 3 games where Goedert was injured and not playing.  Ertz this year as a backup in ARI has averaged 6 targets a game.

A catch here and there is better than nothing.

Err.  Outside CB should be the 3rd or 4th guy trying to make that play.  Did you notice the 2 LB’s, DE and slot guy biting the other way?  None of them were blocked - they just ran the wrong direction …Even after Deebo had already had a full steam going the other way.
