Ellis had no clue what he was doing. Not sure how much you can help that. He was out there guessing and he was wrong just about every time

Ellis was terrible but why did we have Morrow on Deebo?

Brandon Graham also plays snaps at DT.  59 defensive snaps against SF, Reddick had 42 and Graham had 25, so I assume 7-8 of those are inside.  You've got Cox, Davis, Carter, Williams, and some from Graham.  Not sure Suh would get much at all.  EDGE is Reddick, Graham on one side and Sweat, Nolan Smith on the other.

Hopefully Cunningham can go against DAL, which would mean he and Leonard would see the bulk of time with Morrow backing up.

The secondary is in a spot where they have to get better play from Byard and Roby.  Hopefully it's a question of them getting acclimated to the scheme and they will improve.

Suh would be a fresh body to give the starters a rest. It worked last year

That's what Shanahan does gets guys locked up in bad matchups. Slay should have been following him all over the field. Byard following Kittle wherever he goes. They make it too hard

Tried to go for most popular today.  Got 6 out of the 9.  Two others were used up as most popular in other spots, and one I lost out on by 3%.  Not bad, but not nearly as challenging as going for rarity.

Speaking of bets, a podcast I listen to challenged the Kelces to a fundraiser bet. Wants to see which side can earn the most money for charity. It's a far more popular podcast than the Kelces so they'll have an advantage, but the Kelces obviously have connections too. I want to see if they take them up on it.

More popular than New Heights?  What podcast is it, cause I'm pretty sure that New Heights is consistently ranked either at the top or among the top of all sports podcasts not just in the US, but globally.

All season long it has felt like anytime the other team gets inside the ten, it’s an automatic touchdown. There is almost no resistance whatsoever. It’s become comical. It was weirdly like that one season under McDermott too.

Yeah I meant more so in-season adjustments than in-game. It probably is a personnel issue but also tough to believe that the rest of the talent on defense can’t make up for it with better scheming or something.

If we're talking preparation and game plan then I think that's an issue on both sides of the ball and points to Siri.  As HC he has to observe all this.  In press conferences, reporters point out stats and issues to him and he acknowledges them and their need to improve.  he's talked about the scripted plays, I fear that he's too much like Reid in sticking to the script and game plan.  Then the coordinators have to adjust.  Desai is better at adjusting in game, BJ isn't.  There have been some more creative plays here and there, and before this week in the recent games they were much better in the red zone so some things were improved.  In certain games, they've unleashed Swift more.  It's maddening that they don't do what works earlier.

Siri is a good coach, you don't have the best record in the league 2 years in a row without being a good coach.  But I think that's a big growth area.

Swift very clearly takes a wider angle and retreats a yard or so toward his own end zone to beat the immediate pressure.

OK - he side steps him but he doesn't go wide of the design of the run.  He's not slowed down by it. I think Greenlaw still would have made the tackle.

I agree. Desai has made some and he has a long ways to go as a DC. I don’t know if he’s good or bad. He might get a talented defense like 2022 in 2024 and see him make leaps like Gannon did and maybe he’s even better against better offenses.

but to me, the biggest issue is personnel. Bradberry and slay have regressed a little bit. Which I think we all kind of figured they would at their age. The problem is you regressed significantly at linebacker. You went from above average to bad. At slot corner because Maddox went down early in the year and McPhearson got hurt and you don’t have somebody like CJ to just step into the slot. So your slot position has massively been downgraded. I would also argue byard and Blankenship hasn’t been as good as CJGJ and Epps. And Blankenship was playing better as a backup then brown has so far

IMO, with Gannon he had the personnel and he was the issue.  I think Desai is better and unless some team hires him as their HC, from what I've seen he should return and does a good enough job.  He needs real LBs, an improved secondary and having another offseason to review what worked and didn't he can come back and be even better next year.

Brian Johnson has a longer way to go...and they have the talent on the offensive side that they should be dominating teams.

Just checked and New Heights is more popular than I thought it was. So I'm not sure now. It's 2 Bears 1 Cave. It's a comedy podcast, it isn't sports, but it's been around a while. Has millions of subscribers, but it looks like New Heights does as well.

They called during the show and got Mcafee as a backer for their charity. I want to see if the Kelces respond. They brought up the Kelces because one of the hosts Tom said Jason DM'd him and told him he was a fan of their pod.

New Heights I thought was the top rated sports podcast, or very high up.  They also now have the Swifties, who will be happy to donate.

I'd be pretty surprised if Cunningham plays this weekend. His hammy was so bad he didn't return to the game and didn't practice at all last week. We'll see what he can do this week at practice but I'd guess it lingers a little longer than one week.

I really don't get the reluctance to do this -- just have Slay take the top receiver. Slay and Bradberry have been OK this year for the most part. Now, is that because they aren't being tested as people feast on the middle of the field? Maybe. Only one way to find out.

Slay should follow Lamb everywhere this game. Make someone else beat you.

I’m willing to give Desai more of a pass than Johnson. They just don’t have the horses on defense at linebacker and the secondary to compete against good passing attacks. It is what it is at this point and not much will change 14 weeks in.

But Johnson was born on third base with this offense. Top tier OL, elite starting receivers, good tight end, and an MVP level QB. And it feels like the offense has gotten worse throughout the season, not better.

Wonder how much truth there is to this.

Couldn’t disagree more. It ruined the timing of the play, took his eyes off what should have been his immediate read to put his foot in the ground and cut upfield and the wider path gave Greenlaw more time to close before Swift could put a move on him.

None. The dude is a fraud.

This is one of the biggest issues this team faces now. Have any of you felt confident this team can get off the field? It's hard to get excited if they make a great play on 1st or 2nd down because we all know they will just give up the 3rd down.

When's the last time we had CBs that shadow a receiver? I can't recall

What will Suh give?  A fresh mind, fresh body and a load to take off of others.  Will it happen - no idea

These quotes from Siri on Leonard are interesting

"I know how smart Shaq is and how much he works at it,” said Sirianni. "I know our coaches will work hard at it as well to get him up to speed. Some game plans have less in them, and some game plans have more in them.

"The style of the team you're playing. There are so many different things that go into it. We'll have a better feel as the week goes, but we're going to try to get him up to speed as quick as possible.”

"We still have confidence from the tape that he still can play, and he's been a high-level player in this league for a very long time,” said Sirianni. "...“Still has a knack to take the ball away. Still has that knack to run and hit the ball carrier. Still has the length that he had to make throws hard in the passing lane. So excited about the player we're getting."

The Broncos gave up 70 points earlier in the season and turned their defense around. There's no reason the Eagles shouldn't be able to improve their defense. That doesn't mean it can improve to best in the league, but being at the bottom in so many categories is a disgrace and it should be better. I don't know if we have the defensive minds in the building to do it. Or perhaps more importantly, if they have the go ahead from the front office to implement those changes.

I'm not sure this coaching staff knows how to manage roster depth for Suh to even matter. I get they may not trust some guys to play but when it's at the point Boston Scott, Penny, Covey, Calcaterra, Albert O, Street (when he was here), Ojomo, Smith, Ringo and a bunch others can't even sniff the field in a blowout loss, there's some other issue at hand. It doesn't feel like last year at all when we were actually rotating guys in.

Eagles last 3 games *should* be the easy wins (unless they rest starters the final game).  After us, Dallas has to play Bills, Dolphins, Lions then Commanders.  Their schedule is harder which helps our seeding.

49ers play Seahawks, Cardinals, Ravens (tough matchup), Commanders and Rams.

Forced switching rules. Why basic sone is easy to exploit
