You are only going to carry 3 TEs on gameday, 2 of them will play STs.

1 backup TE not playing special teams out of all these guys on the roster is not a huge deal. These dudes aren't some must have ST aces or something. Pretty sure Ertz can do the same thing as Calcadude on STs if need be.

Right, they are bodies but they have the right size and speed to get downfield to do the job. If Ertz plays STs, great, but I don’t want a starting LB picking up more snaps for TE depth.

When did Ertz last play STs regularly?  If ever

From the infamous 6.64 sack.

- Hurts HAS to be better. Run, throw it away, make the right read...do SOMETHING

- We've been discussing it for weeks now but the WR do NOTHING to help Hurts when he's in trouble.

- AJ Brown looks like he gets bear hugged and held but he's got to be more aggressive.

- Not sure who that is on the bottom but what in the world is he doing after his initial route? Is he blocking?

Did the Eagles cut anybody for Leonard yet?

Haven't seen anything.

Reports are out there that the Eagles are looking to bring back Suh

I think Hurts would be the first to admit he has to do better there, the truth of that play is, the pass protection was so damn good Hurts was trying to direct traffic and still make a TD throw, and he probably could've if he hadn't slipped on his ass.

If you watch the behind the goal view on the video Fred Ward is sat a lot closer to the line of a throw to Smith than he looks and the competing linemen are also wrestling into his line, Smith also turns 180 the other way right after that still, it's probably a makeable throw but it would have had to be an absolute dime thrown like a rocket to make it.  You can pause pretty much any play and a still frame will look like a player has missed an easy one, whereas a moving film can make the thought process a bit clearer.

They might as well try Nolan Smith out as a traditional LB.

Hurts needs to trust Smith more, the middle of the field is open, Smith has his guy beat and no one can break off to break up the play. We are lacking in all phases. Some plays break down because the O-Line gets beat, some plays Hurts is just doing too much, some plays Hurts throws to AJ in double coverage but someone else is open for an easy first down. These things should've been cleaned up weeks ago. Watch film and make adjustments.

Don't get me wrong, Brown is a beast and comes down with some contested catches, but the same trust should be had in Smitty. His route running alone gets him open.

Hurts has to do a better job - and so do others, but last year we were capitalizing on these plays and our offense was efficient. This year we're struggling.

He's not a full time starter anymore. Need a body just to be out there blocking on punts or whatever throw him out there. Not like he'd be a gunner or some ish. The STs aspect is not a huge deal.

Smith had 11 targets. Brown 13. What's missing was Goedert.

I'm not doubting Jalen Hurts as the Eagles QB and unquestioned leader.

However, plays like this were the reason I wasn't sold on him prior to last year. There's no reason to bail out of the pocket. This habit has crept back in to his game in a big way. He's got to break this habit and start trusting the pocket again. There's so much this team has to improve and Hurts is a big part of it.

he was watching the rush

He got used to playing with Opeta and Driscoll back there when the OL was banged up. Needs to get back to trusting his protection which was actually pretty good against that pass rush.

My post was misleading about targets, I wasn't trying to point out number of targets. I'm speaking about Hurts focusing on AJ sometimes too much. There are times when AJ is hot and he wants the ball, but don't forget that Smith is a 1000+ yard receiver that can make superman catches as well. Throw to who is open, not to who you know "likes" to get the ball. And again that's not a knock on AJ at all. I don't care who the target is, if they are open throw it, move the chains, sustain drives and take what the defense gives you.

That's likely the order of the progression when he does that based on the call and what he's seeing on the field.

That is frustrating.  Needed to hit Devonta there for the TD.

Cox is getting $14m, back to back high first round picks at DT, a high 3rd in Williams, and two drafted players rounding out the depth for the 5th and 6th DTs.

And we need to bring in a washed vet at DT mid season.

I would have been fine with that throw, but it's not like Devonta is open when Jalen is in position to throw it.

Congrats to Westbrook!! One of my favorite Eagles who was at Villanova when I attended.

I remember running into him in a Footlocker in Dallas.  I asked his dad if that was Westbrook and he said yeah.  Wanted to say hi but thought it was nicer to just let him enjoy his shoe shopping without the attention.

We should sign Suh to play inside, in order to kick Milton Williams and Jalen Carter outside more.

The DTs are not the issue.
