100% on the coaches.

Garry Cobb would be proud.

I had a very close friend (RIP) who talked on occasion with Giants RB Joe Morris, who told him that the Giants game plan in those days was to account for every Eagles defender EXCEPT Cobb. They preferred to leave him unblocked rather than waste a guy to actually block him. That’s how little they actually thought of him as a linebacker.

So you're argument boils down to one play. They should have ran on 2nd and 8 down 15 with 3 minutes left in the 3rd. ok.

The time to have more 1st and 2nd down runs to bring up more manageable down and distance scenarios was the 2nd quarter.

No. My argument didn't boil down to 1 play,  you framed it that way.  My argument is that we should have run more.  So I agree they should have in the 2nd quarter too.

He got more than I expected.

You also don't see 20 rush attempts for an average of 2 yards per carry because teams aren't dumb and run it that much if its clearly not working.

lol, I recall Barry Switzer doing it…many times. Seriously though sometimes coaches do continue to run just to try and keep the defense from just teeing off and sitting back in coverage the secondary. If it’s ineffective is it going to keep the defense honest? Probably not completely and then you’re still stuck in 3rd and long.

I framed it that way because the second half drives were:

Touchdown

3 and out

Touchdown

Downs, end of game.

So I’m not sure at what point from down 21-6 onward they should have established the run to create more manageable third downs. Or what establishing a run game in the second half would even accomplish besides the same end result.

But his late nights on WIP were classic.... the ugly shows.  Great radio for a teenager to enjoy.

Don't abandon the run, adjust your running plays.  Stop being predictable.

Oh goodness. I like Sheil, but this take is equally as bad as Carr. Not one person is saying Hurts can't read a defense because he's black. He says people that say black QBs can't read defenses are lazy and that it goes back to Randall and Donovan...maybe the Eagles have had majority black QBs so that's who we have to criticize? IMO, his take is the lazy one. Expect better from him.

The fact of the matter is that Hurts ISN'T reading defenses right now. He's getting the snap and instantly bailing.

Shanahan asked about Ertz to 49ers, sounds like it's a no.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter believes that Ertz is destined to sign with the Philadelphia Eagles. When asked if the Niners would have an interest in Ertz after Dwelley’s injury, Shanahan said, "I know John [Lynch] looks into all that stuff. I haven’t heard anything now. I wouldn’t think so. I know we’re pretty happy with this group.”

This coaching staff defies logic and common sense. I think our personnel can make up for their incompetence 75-80% of the time, but not against a superiorly coached team that understands how to fully utilize their personnel.

I look for a gross overcorrection this coming Sunday, probably 70/30 run-pass ratio.

And for FFS, get Penny involved, this is do or die time.

To me the comment suggests that the 49ers didn't believe that Hurts is seeing the field well this year.

There has always been racial motivations for some people who have always been against Hurts and are quick to jump on him.  Please note I am NOT saying ALL people but it can't be denied that race does factor in for some people.  It's the reality.  When someone like David Carr says something as stupid as what he said and he isn't someone known as some hot take TV personality and he wasn't on one of those clown Fox Sports 1 or ESPN shows that only run on that stuff, then it's fair to question whether he falls in that some people bracket.

I don't think there is any real market of contenders that are actually interested in signing him.  Or maybe not for whatever role he is hoping to have on a contending team.

Yeah, I don't think prayers are going to help with that.

He said if your "default” analysis/criticism is he struggles to read a defense then show your work. What’s wrong with that?

By the way, you really just proved his point by saying he’s getting the snap and instantly bailing. Talk about lazy.

Another half mil on top of the 6.1 he’s already getting from the Colts. (And a chance for a ring).  Not a bad deal for him.

They could have established it earlier as well.

Isn't Sheil the paid analyst? I think he should do the work.
