This might be a lazy take, but I’d be more comfortable with Tanner McKee taking some reps than Mariota.  Not pretending McKee would be ready for a playoff game, but I think you’d basically get Josh McCown output from Mariota

McKee impressed in the preseason. That said, he’s still a rookie so doubtful he’d play over Mariota at any point this year.  (And no, we wouldn’t want to see either of them unless it’s in a garbage time clean up role).

yeah it wasn't good.  I don't necessarily put that all on hurts though, coaching has to take some blame.

Kind of a surprise. I think there's other fat to trim off the roster before Elliss. 

I remember having back and forths in here about how we didn't need to address LB in the offseason because we had Ellis and he needed to start. Thought that was down right crazy talk but I didn't see him getting straight up cut.
