He’s not a gimmick, their offense doesn’t ask him to do a lot. Take care of the ball, distribute it to the play makers, typically within 5-15 yards. That’s the offense, not a gimmick. Shanahan puts him in a position to succeed at a ridiculous high rate.
If Hurts had Shanahan I would expect some electric stuff out of that offense, on a level with Mahomes type stuff.

Yep. Once again 2/3rds of their offense was YAC after designed openings short. Purdy is mediocre at pushing the ball down the field but he makes the right reads and that's enough for Shanahan. He's just that good of a play designer.

You could tell because of how they use their Fullback.

Whatever. He hasn't won crap yet. He fumbled and it cost them regardless of his play after to overcome it. Doesn’t mean success won't come but he hasn't earned that yet.

A lot of QB would do well with that line and those WR. Winning Sunday is a good step.

He's won the division and a NFC Championship.

One of the best rated performances in SB history with the performance on the other side of the ball being arguably the worst second half defensive performance in Super Bowl history. Not his fault.

Defense was even worse than 2018 SB, and that defense was atrocious.

You've been here long enough to know people only count chips.

People have tasted the well and now can't contain their urges for another chip. Which is fair, though I think we're spoiled rotten. No SB is ever going to be better than the first because of how it happened. But more are still nice regardless.

Sad sad, for fans and the entire NFL .

Tyreek Hill is the unquestionable MVP and Marvin Harrison is the unquestionable Heisman

Anyone who disagrees is a real €untcake

81 receptions/1428 yards/13 TDs 17.6 average

67 receptions/1212 yards/12 TDs 18.1 average

86 receptions/1546 yards/14 TD 18 average

Which one is Harrison, Nabers, or Odunze?

Unquestionable get the Heisman, what a dumb take.

The most impactful and important guy in college is Penix

And a fumble that cost them the game at the end of the day. Lucky to have him? Yes. But the we don't deserve him he walks on water crap can stop.

So did the Bills with Kelly for years in the AFC. When he wins he becomes immortal. We can like him and critique him at the same time. We are lucky to have him.

That and he knows how to take advantage of his play makers talent. That’s why I said Hurts would be electric in his offense. Hurts is so much more athletic, it’s not even close.

Purdy is obviously going great where he is - how do think he would do in KC?

Not as as well as in SF.  I think AR relies on the magic of Mahomes and a bit of free lancing, Purdy is not that guy, he’s good but has more limitations athletically.

Unfortunately they’ve become just as important as the players and coaches.

Nick Bosa should apply at IHOP.

Which is absolutely ridiculous. They should never be in a position, from a judgement perspective, to change the momentum or outcome of a game.

I think Daniels wins it

I agree - I was watching a GE99 interview recently (former guy around here) and he had to contend with a YouTube chatterbox who thought Brock was better than Mahomes.

If I didn’t have to listen to Collinsworth compare Purdy to the all time greats today, it would be a better story (for me).

Daniels is my predicted winner. But yeah it's likely him or Penix.

What team has that thought? We basically have 2 1s at receiver and a top 5 TE, that's way better depth as receiving options than 90% of other teams already.

No they don’t have quality depth. They have 3 reliable guys and then basically nothing in terms of just average.  If one of those guys goes down you are basically gonna see the inconsistencies of the offense we have the last 3 weeks as only have 2 reliable receiving threats as Watkins, Oz, julio, stoll and Calcaterra aren’t capable of just being routinely competent. There’s no nfl rules and regulations against adding more depth. Just pointing out Jennings is the 3rd wr for SF. Hes actually a competent 3rd option Wr. Ditto for their backup te Dwelley at TE. He had some nice games when kittle got hurt in previous years. Neither are some great get for them but they developed them so they could be competent if kittle or a WR like aiyuk or deebo got hurt.

There are other teams that don’t have brown and smith type WRs but have very good WRs and good depth behind them. For instance seattle has Lockett and DK  behind them is JSN and Bobo. Both solid and competent if those guys get hurt. The eagles have brown, smith and goedert. that’s pretty much it and if one goes down the offense is gonna look like it has last 3 weeks. Our depth behind those 3 is bad  it’s why you saw the numbers dramatically drop with hurts when goedert gets hurt

The 49ers? Arrogant?? You're way off base here.

Really yearn for the day the niners begin their downfall and these bozos get a taste of their own medicine. I’m guessing it’s when they pay purdy and can’t afford to keep doing what they have been

This is one of the weirder, cartoonish takes that I've seen in a while and he just continues to double down on factually, incorrect statements. Does he think people don't watch the games? "Historic run game"? Swift had 56 and 57 yards rushing in both games. People like this shouldn't be allowed to have a platform if they're not going to speak intellectually or factually correct. It's a disservice to people in the industry who actually know their stuff and are trying to get on-camera jobs.

how the F does this clown have a job. he is coming off as a huge Hurts hater or just flat out racist.

I think Howie outsmarted himself a bit with this move

Elliss 100% added value to this team. He's not a starting LB in the NFL but he's a core special teams player and a valuable reserve.

Rashaad Penny can't even dress for a game but his roster spot is more valuable than the leading ST player on the team?

It's Christian Elliss.  Were they quality ST snaps?  Our success on STs is mainly from Elliott, Covey, and replacing Siposs with Mann.

So? What does Albert O do to warrant a roster spot now that Goedert is back?

Almost 20% of the league wanted him on their roster. Pretty good for a guy that doesn’t do anything on ST’s.

Yeah this one irks me. I knew he'd be claimed off waivers. Got to hope ST isn't poorly impacted from here on.

Frankly i could make the argument I’m not entirely against morrow being cut. I get why they didn’t due to injury concern to Leonard and Cunningham. He has experience. But he’s not good. And he got cut once and didn’t get claimed. And i rather see Ellis struggle in snaps and hope it leads to future development then morrow suck and it never leads to anything.
